EA Sports has released another patch for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of NHL 15, bringing it up to version 1.03. Check out the details below.


The team will be releasing the following content update later this month.

Online Team Play
Online multiplayer mode where every player on the ice can be human controlled.

GM Draft
For the first time in the NHL franchise, you will be put on the clock and feel the pressure like real NHL GM’s. You will now only have 3 minutes to make a draft pick. If the pressure is too much, you can also call timeouts to extend the amount of time you have to make a draft pick or potentially negotiate a trade. You can make trades at any time during the draft. The CPU will also propose trades to each other and the user throughout the draft.

I've said it before, I'll say it again, EA needs to move Rammer off hockey, get him to help with the Live series, he's a basketball guy. They need a producer on this team that actually knows hockey. I mean, they can't even get the displayed stat format right for Goalies, GAA is listed as x.xxx and save percentage are listed as 0.xxxx, the stats screen in Beagm is a mess!

Beserker mode is back. I just gave up 6 goals in half a period. They got every loose puck. They were skating past my fastest guys.

Im just going to reset the console when this happens.

Too... Much... Hitting!!!

I rarely play offline, because it bores me to tears to play against the AI, but the momentum from the hits is absurd again. They keep adjusting things so that it plays more and more like the past versions of the game. And that is exactly what doesn't need to be happening, imo.

This latest patch pretty much regressed anything about the gameplay that I was liking and having a good time with. There are just collisions everywhere now. Looks like the South Park episode with the mite teams playing and falling all over the ice.

Combine that with the horrible passing controls and it is just a mess now for me.

Dude I can barely get a shot off in my zone without getting knocked 20 feet. Any chance of some competitive play around goal is gone.

Meanwhile the I literally bounce off CPU players when I try to hit them.

Im playing a game against Columbus that I have had to restart 5 times after they scored at least 3 goals on me in the first half of the first period each time. This is very fishy.

This makes the game faster than the last tuner update, but the goalies are more invincible. I played some online games using Stamkos and some of his wide open looks were stopped by the bionic goalie. The goalies now defy warp speed.

I guess they did this to cut down on scoring and exploiting of the game. But they always seem to go from one extreme to the other.

Basically this game is now NHL 14 with a slight graphical update. These tuner screw jobs they do every year.

First 3 games post patch and I've allowed 18 goals, yikes!!!

So,I just played in my first be a pro shootout and realized that, unless you're taking the shot, the coaches feedback square covers the screen and you don't get to see any attempts. Even if the CPU is shooting your screen is covered. Not only is that terrible but it's an obvious sign that nobody tested this. Nobody from EA spent a minute on Be A Pro and that is abundantly clear, based on the abundance of bugs. Really pathetic, EA. A really obvious money grab with no care.

This patch didnt address passing. It still feels like pushing a bowling ball across the ice.

And I was hoping they'd add a team practice mode at some point (I need to practise one timers. Other than ones from the point, I cant seem to time them).

Online is sped up and the goalies are super human again from side to side now. I am struggling to score on real plays where I work to set up and pull my opponent out of position for a clear chance that should beat the goalie because I have the numbers in my favor... only to watch him warp across and save it without issue.

I also see a ton of 2 on 1 opportunity that is just worthless because it is such a chore getting that pass across, even early when the defender isn't int the passing lane. And if you are not rushing up the ice at full speed all of the time with the puck you will be caught from behind nearly every time.

They never seem to actually fix the problems. They just tune things to overcompensate for them. And that is not what we need most of the time. They really just don't understand at all and it is saddening.

How do you find the passing mechanics Big Will?

The more I play, the more I think this may be the biggest issue. Even with the pass speed slider maxed, it feels like any pass to a dangerous area is pointless to attempt.

Has there been any official word on why manual passing isnt in the game this year?

My only issue is Baa7serker mode aka hitting and momentum as the catalyst I mean EA tried to push this enforcer crap years ago and after what little good they did with Physics and gameplay for 15 is gone .

Who approves this stuff ? It must have been done for online gameplay as they always do this and it then wrecks offline play but its normally a tuner .

I dont mind the tweaking and crap but now when baa7serker mode starts its like your not even playing and everyone is Bobby Orr as needed so now its all about controlling the dreaded Tilted Ice , hit hit hit cement head hockey so lower your shot accuracy and raise your goalie sliders .

Well I figured as much and thats why I didnt post my Playoff sliders yet and I wont as this crap will have to be toned down again , really some wild stuff with EA NHL .
Cant play till tonight but I cant wait to better study this update wow pretty amazing how the game plays nothing like it was released as ?

I agree on passing being gimped as needed though they let me have one to get the 3-0 so almost like scripted as I had the momentum.

I find them to be awful, sadly. Passing is one of the most fun aspects in hockey, to me. I pride myself on my vision and creativeness, both in real life on the ice and in this NHL series, and this game doesn't let you replicate true passing at all.

I play 90% of my games online and cannot alter sliders, but even offline with adjustments it just isn't there this year. They (EA) haven't said much on anything, let alone passing issues. I am assuming it just wasn't possible with the new puck physics, or something, to get true manual passing into the game. And with everything else on their plate I would doubt that it gets addressed in NHL 15.

I accidentally pass back out of the attacking zone about 3 times a game now. Trying to hit my point man from the wall with a pass while I am in the attacking zone is a crap shoot. Cycling the puck is cumbersome. Going d-to-do is not awful, but could use work. And breaking out and using the boards for a bank pass is non existent in NHL 15 for next gen.

I can't see how it could be said that the gameplay is so great in this game when one of the major facets of that is pretty much broken in manual passing. I guess I hope that it is fixed for next year, but I am sure most people will settle for it just being back to the way it was in NHL 14. Eventually this list of "needs-to-be fixed" will heavily outweigh the "have time to address" or "are competently staffed" that is needed and the fear I have is that a good chunk of what plagues this game will not be touched or improved upon. I mean they are already playing catch-up with the game just to get it fully featured, that doesn't allow for a whole lot of refinement or new improvements. At some point you dig yourself too great a hole to climb out of, right?

A well known member on many hockey video forums back in the day do you know of him too ? He was a very nice guy but went crazy on what he called Beserker mode in hockey games so many changed it to Baa7serker mode when they spoke of it funniest rants you ever saw !

Next game was a 3-2 win and would have been a SO but the CPU had 6 PP's, so I gave up two goals on PK's.
