NBA Live 15 News Post

EA Sports has released a new NBA Live 15 video showcasing the offensive improvements to the game. While it's not the 5 on 5 gameplay most of us were hoping for, at least we have something.

They have also posted a blog, going over the improvements to the AI with regards to fast breaks, pick and rolls and playcalling.

Watch the video, read the blog and post your thoughts.

Everybody needs to stop complaining about no 5v5 game-play and instead appreciate the hype they are trying to build for the game. I get it i'm sick of seeing pictures every single day with ratings but at least they are releasing info daily trying to get people excited for the game. I don't know about any of you but i sort of look forward to seeing the new screenshots every afternoon because its better than them not showing anything from the game. I am happy with all the information we got today it was nice to see them attempting to fix problems and issues with last years game and i'm glad they addressed it with a video explaining how the team tried to fix stuff. It seems like ea is trying to please the fans and i doubt anybody will be happy until the 5 v 5 game play comes out but try don't hate on everything before the game play is out demanding for it we still have a while to go and i'm sure we will be seeing it before the release

I see the improvements, but it still seems like they are taking baby steps on powerful next gen hardware. This is year 2 of 3 that Peter Moore said this franchise will be able to go head to head with the competition. What direction do they take to make the animations superior? The graphics don't look photo realistic to me looking at this new footage. I'm a little dissapointed, but I want to see them succeed.

Love how in the videos the game looks lighter than in the screen shots. So vibrant. EA paid the light bill this year.
yeah that dunk was smooth but, rose face looks a lil off to me

Live has some upsides I'm liking for their presence of physics. Imagine serious defensive rorations with a high-rated team like the grizzles or raptors

Live has let down before and I agree, but if people Cant see the improvements they are Blind. People want to compare the games and they cant be. Right off Live doesnt have Customization and 2k Does. But Live has chosen to Focus on other aspects and is doing a great job i think, considering what they released last year.
Hmm i dont think you know how the world works. Only 2 games on the market mean they will ALWAYS be compared. These companies are competing for peoples $$ they aren't doing this for fun.

Wrong. EA at this stage is not competing with 2K. They know it isn't a realistic goal at this point. They are simply competing with themselves, and if they have a good increase in sales this year could be a huge step in the right direction for the Live franchise. So yes, money does play a factor, so EA is smart to look at the big picture. They have the resources on hand to play that card, lol.

No you are WRONG. They are competing for something...it's called market share.

Don't get sucked up into the "marketing" aspect of it, which in this case is to downplay the game to meet consumer expectations. They succeeded with that. That's different.

This is a division of a for profit company. They have shareholders to answer to. This isn't for fun. They are very much competing to increase their market share that 2K has taken over from them.

Yeah, not feeling this at all.

Why does the graphics always look so downgraded during regular gameplay like this?

I do like the look of the crowd here as usual but its always oh well last year the game was nothing, but THIS year.

It would be an impossible expectation for them to top 2K in sales. They know that and have spoken of such several times this year. It's all about the BIG picture for EA at this point. Baby steps, and by next year they could very well be competing with 2K at this time next year. And then possibly overtaking them in 2017..

As a basketball fan, having two basketball games is awesome and regardless of which one you like better, at least you have a choice! Most sports have one title and one title only to choose from.

I am going to get both and hopefully enjoy both!
I agree I hope live have strong sales along with 2k competition is always a win win for us.

The market for robotic basketball is there, but it's small.... so they can polish "their style" to no end, but unless they redo the crappy animations in favor of realism, they will never overtake. A majority of gamers just won't go for this... i guess we all know that by now form the mass shift to 2K over the years.

To each his own. So, Live better be happy with the tiny marketshare if they want to continue with their signature style.

Definitely looks better, but still need to see it unedited, just actions/plays/interactions happening in real time.

The potential is there, more than last year, that's for sure. Will it remain just a potential? Gameplay videos might tell.

Pretty sold that the game will be extremely solid this year and most certainly more than 'playable'. These were three areas that needed a lot of work and it looks like they've accomplished that.

Pumped to see more but still salty we have to wait three extra weeks for this.
i agree, sticking to the roots while adding on something new will be the best thing for this franchise...i don't mind waiting a lil longer if they going to help the game looks better, it seems like its the norm now for games to be delayed so that they can work on it longer.

The style of this franchise hasn't been true since NBA Live 10 and before that NBA live 05. Two very very good basketball games. 2015 looks to be on par with those titles. No it isn't the same damn game as 2K so you have to play it differently and expect to see slightly different outcomes. Live has a lot of consumers currently on the 2K side that can't wait for live to excel again. Time will tell.

I've watched the video a few more times just to give it a chance...I'm still very underwhelmed. The fact that the Live team is saying look you can pass the ball now, hey look you can actually have fast break opportunities now, that part is actually pretty sad to me. This game is still in infant stages after all this time. They all most had me hyped with the improved visuals trailer, but after seeing the 15 second clips and now this, I'm just not sold.

A few of us have been saying this for years now....

It's mind boggling as to why NBA Live hasn't even come close to rendering good solid looking animations.

It's one thing to support EA's product it's another thing to totally ignore some of the same issues with the game year after year when it comes to player movement.

I don't care about taking baby steps or 3 year plans....

All we are asking for is to simply make the players move like NBA Ballers on the court...

These are gifted players with incredible agility in today's game....yet in Live they move around on the floor like the players from 1940's or 50's era of basketball.

With the new technology and power in these consoles why do we still have players moving around like George Mikan instead of Anthony Davis types?

Hell I would even be content with a guy who moved like Tim Duncan on the floor while in motion....but to continually give us sub par player movement even though we are now on XBOX One and PS4 consoles is inexcusable IMO.

Even before this recent trailer the other videos prior to this one you see a lot of players just standing around on the perimeter watching & waiting for something to happen and if nothing happens they just continue to stand around and spectate or they do that silly shuffle back and forth movement on defense that they have been doing since Live 06.

FIFA may not be perfect and I'm not a huge soccer fan but I can see little subtle things in that game that makes the players appear as if they have a brain on the field and they move generally like you would expect soccer players to move.

Nice, but i need raw gameplay.

This also looked good before we saw it unedited.
