NBA Live 15 News Post

EA Sports has released a new NBA Live 15 video showcasing the offensive improvements to the game. While it's not the 5 on 5 gameplay most of us were hoping for, at least we have something.

They have also posted a blog, going over the improvements to the AI with regards to fast breaks, pick and rolls and playcalling.

Watch the video, read the blog and post your thoughts.

I kinda figured they were gonna go the route of a sizzle trailer instead of raw gameplay so i'm still in the fence about this title...I will say it looks really good though graphics wise props to EA on that my only knock is it seems floaty (movements/animations) other than that thumbsup.

Now what scares me is this ragdoll feature...it could go really well if tuned right or reaaaaaaaallly bad if not.and after playing Madden ehhh yeaaaaah..players start seeing some odd limb disconfigurements during contact anmations lol.

Hopefully that wont be an issue. Now give us 5 on 5 gameplay Ea lol please

Looks Waaaay better than 14. That D.Rose dunk was dope. I like the collisions in mid-air. I have to say EA nice improvement. I'M Going To Check it out THIS year.

Animations looking improved and more fluid, some still look a lil off but definitely a huge step up tho...im loving the art style...player emotions looks great. Live should be fun this year

That actually looks really good. I want to see how it stands alone as a basketball game though, obviously comparing it to 14 it's gonna look like a GOTY, but it looks good so far

Love how in the videos the game looks lighter than in the screen shots. So vibrant. EA paid the light bill this year.
I agree that dunk alone showed me how much the game play has improved.

The scuff marks on the floor, those details just look sick. Showing how bad 14 was compared to 15 is just icing on the cake. Sorry but even EA showed you how awful that game was. Live 15 is the real deal. Can't wait for more.

Huge step up in animations. The rag doll physics look real nice. Dribbling, passing, shooting look miles better.

Really impressed with that Lance contest at the end.

Only one negative the body looks a bit stiff on some animations but it definitely 100% brings some of that whole live feel

this game is still a few years away from where they want it to be. as well as where we would like it to be. it is a improvement from last year. as for as what i can see. still in alpha/beta stages from what i see. hope they let us try it first as promised.

Looks very good and much better than I thought it would.
Looking forward to more gameplay footage. Would love to see a full game or at least a quarter.

Live in the 3rd year and the other game with new devs working full cycle.

This year is just an appetizer.
Completely agree. I just think next year is gonna be so great and we will have a real choice. 2k's devs talked about how 2k14 was such a great foundation because it already had deep modes, graphics, and good gameplay when people don't cheese, and that is why for 15 they could focused on polishing the game and adding way more features. Live 16 will be their 2k14 but it will be a lot more polished because it will be their third next gen title so annoying cheese stuff won't in it.It will be their first complete game with great graphics, gameplay, deep modes, and customization. Once 2k17 and Live 17 come that will be the year where everyone will be debating am arguing for supremacy. Can't wait

It's been a loooooooooong time since we had 2 b-ball games......this could be "that" kinda year.

Side note: EA got the raptors 20th anniversary patch in the game (you can see it on Kyle Lowry) I know its a petty thing but I like it when my team (which is not a mainstream team) gets some love and those fine little details.
It's really only been less than a year. There were 2 basketball games available last year. If you're speaking about "quality" then I have to wait to play live 15 before I can agree with you.

But that expression on Bradley Beal's face tho!

My only real issue with the video is the animations....if they work properly & consistently then it won't bother me as much, but they just aren't of very good quality to me...something still seems off about them, they just don't look natural.

I really, really hope we can get some in game footage soon...

Glad to see mostly positive comments coming in. One of the biggest gameplay features that I think should be highly focused on is the Rag Doll paint collisions. This is one area that I think moving forward, all basketball games need. It will be a night and day difference, seeing all of the different outcomes due to a collision. No awkward limbs, no horrible clipping, and it'll play out based on the independent collision.

I'm looking forward to seeing the other end of the spectrum, the defensive additions to the game, and showing all of the different counters. Passing looks vastly improved, and the ability to whip the ball around the perimeter is excellent.

The game will give you the control that you want. If you want to control the game like the Gamestop Expo, you can do it. If you want to have natural basketball movements, you can do it, and it will look good. That's the thing, the controls react to your input on the sticks. That's a great thing in my opinion. Looking forward to getting into practice mode, honing my skills, and starting a season at The Q.

I mean quality man......some would argue it was 2010. But IMO 2005 was the last year when both games went toe to toe with each other. Also I'm not saying Live 15 is good either. I'm just a guy who wants these 2 games to slug it out in heavyweight match like back in the day......those were good times.

Looks like the old NBA Live and that my friends is a good thing! Stick to your roots.

Pretty sold that the game will be extremely solid this year and most certainly more than 'playable'. These were three areas that needed a lot of work and it looks like they've accomplished that.

Pumped to see more but still salty we have to wait three extra weeks for this.

I'm not trying to even trying to funny, but to me those videos don't even look near or close to those amazing screenshots I've been seeing ,(pissed )

I agree with you in a way. But you know what, the game has that "NBA Live" look to it ?? Does that make sense? I think thats that a real good. That vid flashed me back to the PS2 days. I think that as one of the problems of Live 06 to 10 on PS3/360 is that it didn't have that "NBA Live" feel.
