NBA 2K15 News Post

Chris_Smoove has released another NBA 2K15 video. This one showcases Coaching 101.

Coach satisfaction is new this year and according to Chris, if you play your coaches scheme, your player will play better. If you would rather freestyle your way in games without listening to your coach, you could be traded.

Coaching 101 will pop up whenever your coach wants to change the gameplan. Make sure you watch the video to see how it works.

This is similar to what they had in madden 12 superstar mode.

This looks nice in theory hopefully its used properly and not just random but based on how the games are being played. Hopefully the on the court play is true to the way teams play in real life.
With all that said people saying the spacing looks great or game play looks good need to be honest and admit this looks like the same as last years concerning the things 2k did wrong.

No way in real life does the ball go into Splitter to post up.
Next the pick that was set for Danny Green was nice but the way he runs out of bounds is ridiculous and the way Josh Smith reacts defensively just doesn't make sense.

He doesnt ever look at Green but some how knows that he started running the other way?

Was hoping most of these issues were dealt with but maybe they can patch these kinds of things.

Love the realism of the coaches gameplan though!!

Is this our update of news today, does anyone know? It's nice and all, but not as big as I was expecting for a Tuesday reveal 2 weeks from release.

I woudn't expect too much. Looks like a cool little addition but I doubt there is any real depth to it.

Glad to see that the dude sounds like a real person and didn't follow the footsteps of RoboStern.

BUT Josh Smith @ 1:07-1:20 is CRINGEWORTHY!!! This is weird stuff that happens when your teammates are off ball in 2K14, when you wonder how someone was so wide open, and then you go look at replay.

As a tool to understand the ai coach, this will be great. Since it can happen before a game, at the half or after a game, a gamer (us) will be able to get a better understanding of what the ai was trying to accomplish.

Those who will want to skip immediately are completely missing the purpose of this tool. If you are Michael Jordenesque and are doing no wrong on the court with stellar execution then you should never experience it.

If you are trying to be a cowboy on the court or playing hero-ball then this gives you notice that your on a timer to improve or be traded. If you don't care or perhaps even wanted to be traded you will know that sooner than later you will no longer be on this team.

It really is a win-win addition; for those that want to understand the ai (remember DaCzar's awesome tutorials?) this tool will become invaluable. For those that want to accomplish another goal, it will act as a notice to be prepared for change.

I got shades of DaCzar's teaching in that clip and that is a good thing. Even if some out there won't recognize a good thing right in their face.

With all of this being said: one major concern for me does still exist. If this is scripted to occur at predetermined points, regardless of actual performance and there is a "forced experience" of being traded or released just to give everyone that experience I will feel a major let-down.

Right now, I am going to stay positive and assume that with Leftos, DaCzar and all of the others taken from this very community that those people will not allow that negative possibility to occur. I truly believe 2k14 was a major wake-up call and I am thinking that 2k15 will replace 11 as my favorite edition to date.

You sound like someone who just wants to jack up 40 shots a game.

Just goes to show spacing is still an issue and i hate seeing my team ball watching thats another thing 2k has been constantly messing up. And off ball movement doesnt seem like it has been adressed

This is very ambitious. It will take some getting used to, I'll say that.

The footage is most likely scripted though. Set plays that will play out the same way no matter what team you choose, hence Manu shooting right handed. Everyone shoots right handed in the preset footage. I mean, look at the bench.. It's completely empty. Also, no refs

Anyway, I just can't wait to play this game and see all this stuff first hand.

Good catch on those details. This is an addition that seems like a good idea and it certainly seems to be based off a sense of realism (which is always a plus) but it'll be interesting to see how it's executed. Those tips were awfully generalized (do not let a shooter be open). I'll be interested to see how it plays out.

Nice video.

But it looks like Embiid will wear #21 after the Young-Trade instead of #11.
Change the pic guys

This sounds pretty cool, but I hope they are skippable after being seen once and you can simply get a list of the PoE like 2k14, as once you have seen the film once it could get really annoying waiting for it to finish if you already understand what the coach wants from you.

What was up with the calendar at the start of the video though? The different games had different VC amounts under each game, including ones not played yet. Are those guaranteed payment for that game or something?

OMG !!! Fantasizing NFL2k matching features as NBA2k like the good old days

Nice addition. And Chris Smoove is one of the few youtube guys I enjoy watching. He provides good information while keeping the obnoxious comments to a minimum.

Two suggestions/questions from this video:

It looks like the team is wearing red warm-ups. It would be nice (and fairly easy to implement) if the team in the video demonstrating the concept was the same team your player is on.

What do you all make of the VC amounts posted in the schedule in the first few seconds of the video? Is there now a set amount of VC you earn per game, or is this a win bonus?

I'm slightly concerned about this...

1) Don't follow the guidelines and you could be traded...
2) Close out on perimeter shooters (or insert your preferred defensive tip here)
3) MyCareer team defense from 2k14
4) You get traded

Hopefully this means that the team mate CPU AI is much better this year and the above scenario doesn't occur.
