NBA 2K15 News Post

Chris_Smoove has released another NBA 2K15 video. This one showcases Coaching 101.

Coach satisfaction is new this year and according to Chris, if you play your coaches scheme, your player will play better. If you would rather freestyle your way in games without listening to your coach, you could be traded.

Coaching 101 will pop up whenever your coach wants to change the gameplan. Make sure you watch the video to see how it works.

Nice addition to MyCareer, I probably will skip it after using it 3 times... also Manu is right handed?

Is that the assistant coach from 2k14? I can't tell because the lights are off in the room, but anyway, this sounds great! I like the thought my coach actually using his brain and adjusting our gameplan if something is wrong during halftime.

Coach Satisfaction sounds interesting. Considering the fact that we'll be fighting for contracts, it looks like we have to leave a strong impression with just about everyone in the organization if we plan on staying. This makes me wonder how long our leash will be in 2k15.

Great work, glad to see we're getting into MyCareer now. Two weeks to go!

Considering it happens randomly and is a important part of your players progression it might not be slipped

Good addition just wish it wasn't in cutscene form. Now the way your earn vc should be different from other team's scheme for example offensive teams you get more vc from scoring and passing where on defensive you get more for blocks steals and forced turnovers

This better not turn out like 2k13 again

When you raise the bar that high, it's inevitable.

That said, presentation is great as usual. Gameplay? Not on the same level. Splitter catching the ball in the post? Against Drummond? Shooting a fade? Yeah, that's not happening anywhere else, but in NBA 2K.

One more thought on this...

I hope you won't get penalized for playing good basketball...like the teammate grade would penalize you for letting your man score even though it wasn't your man...all of a sudden the arrow switched and instead of guarding the pg, you now have to miraculously guard the center.

I hope that if the coaching emphasis is to allow nothing inside, but I'm guarding steph curry or an equally good to great shooter, I won't get penalized for not leaving him to sag into the paint.

Or the coaching emphasis is to limit perimeter shots, but I'm guarding Rondo or J Wall, guys who you would give the perimeter shot to in order to guard against them using their speed to blow by you.

Don't penalize me coach for playing good basketball just because we have a difference of philosophy

Great addition here. I hope they continue to add depth to the coaching/gameplan feature in MyCareer. This adds a nice counterbalance of strategy and participation to the scripted elements. Hopefully there is some dynamism if you perform well but don't follow the coach's plan, as opposed to playing poorly and not following the plan. It'd be sick if you can have strife with the coach and get him fired if you're good enough.

Either way, good job on this, 2k.

I don't think that is the point here.

That they're are trying to teach people how to play proper basketball through their most played mode

That was cool. Gameplay looked really good in theses short clips too.

Nice. I like this addition.

Reminds me of Da Czar's old 2k videos

With this kind of story the real career begins in the second year, so no ROY and play against roster of this year!

# 38 RipCityAndy @ 09/23/14 05:40 PM
GREAT addition!! I really hope this is implemented well.

This is a strong positive for 2K. These little things add a lot as it pertains to realism especially in the goal areas.

Coaching schemes should take into account who you are playing. If it's just random assignments this could go for a really good addition to a huge problem.
