Xbox one vs PS3. (current vs last gen)

Ps3 doesn't load right away into the game like xb1 did. It asks you to pick a team first. Then just takes you to the menu.

Game time is less. 3 minutes, not 4. You can't change time of day or weather. It has something called enhanced broadcast (new) as the default camera. That was not in xb1. Which is the plain old default camera from the demo and 14 on currently gen.

Team management menus looks terrible in comparison. Also missing all the options. You can't edit position. No individual role/assignments per player.

Presentation is not as sharp, missing some graphics, like announcers images. Of course graphics are not as good, so wont touch that. Also doesn't have the new pre match lineup graphics, nor are the names read.

Feels almost exactly like 14 in game play. The only thing that feels different, is players feel floaty. Not in a good way. It also feels like a lot of the new AI stuff is missing. Although the ball physics are also improved, but not the same as xb1.

For the most part it just feels like a slightly improved 14. Not as drastic as the current gen systems. So if you have the choice, go ps4/xb1.

EDIT: well some more of the new stuff is in the game play than I first realized. the jumping for out of control or high passes. The ball physics are close, with it not being magnetic. New defender ai and animations, etc. So its not exactly like 14. But again, it doesn't look or play as nice as the xb1 version does.

EDIT 2: 90' game winning goal did not trigger a 10 man celebration.

You know that how? I don't recall ever seeing a quote that says foul decisions are randomly called.

I'm actually kinda bummed right now. Got home and downloaded it for PC, after launch it boots into Liverpool-Man City at Anfield. Wow. Start the game and, of course, it's Broadcast Cam. Brian plays Pro Cam. It is now a Lumberjack Convention; chop, chop, choppity chop. Back out, check my settings. 1080, high render, 2X MSAA. Lock to 60. Nothing too taxing. Not for a Titan Black. It wont stay in Fullscreen mode, keeps going to Windowed mode. Keeps asking to help performance by disabling Aero? Seriously? Oh yeah, Start Button won't respond during gameplay. I sincerely pray this is just a buggy piece of software that they put out to have a demo. I played a match on Fifa 14 just to make sure my rig isn't having some issue. Final at Wembley in the rain. Smooth as butter. Going to try to install again. So far, not happy.....

Just played a couple of games on the PS3 version.

Right off the bat I notice I can actually tackle for once instead of sliding across the pitch tackling thin air. Fouls are called and injuries are happening.

Nice to see PL referees in the game. I've seen Howard Webb, Mike Jones and Martin Atkinson so far.

Everything I've read says PS4 demo is tomorrow...Why? Doesn't make any sense...

Are you guys getting 10-man celebrations throughout the game? I've only seen mention of them in the later stages of close games.

For some reason I get stuttering when on unlimited FPS but when I lock it to 60 smooth as butter, weird.

Okay, hitting the Disable Aero actually helped. Well, I think. I reinstalled and then tried that. It ran smoothly, even on Pro Cam. I don't know. Going to try locking frames and bumping up the MSAA, with Disable Aero. That over with, this game is sweet! Goalies are for real. Joe Hart stonewalled me. The only goal I got was with Sturridge, at least until the flag went up and I was six inches offsides! Lovin the ball physics. Back at it!

Looks like not. The store's already been updated for the day and we've got nothing. I guess it's possible we could see it tomorrow, but is the PS Store even updated on Wednesdays here in the US? I always thought it was a once-a-week thing.

With all their recent dealings, it is possible that MS and EA have some sort of exclusivity arrangement for the FIFA 15 demo on current-gen for a short amount of time, maybe a day or even a week. No one seems to have a definitive answer, the only release window I've seen for the PS4 demo is "soon".

EDIT: NM, a lot of sources are saying it'll be here tomorrow.

All I know is I was looking forward to getting off work and spending a ton of time enjoying the demo. Doesn't look as though that's going to happen.

Ridiculous. A piss-poor week for EA Sports. No PS4 demo when it was supposed to drop (and no, I'm tired of waiting just one more day for things).

This.

It really is just a day (maybe?), but man it's just really disappointing when you're really looking forward to it...

Wow, that jersey tug was great! Thanks for sharing that!

Also, gotta say this is looking like FIFA will have the best crowds of any sports game ever! I'm very impressed from the screens and vids I've seen. Can't wait to experience all this.

Not only that, but the crowd/media/cameramen gear in different weather is both appropriate, varied, and looks excellent. The attention to detail is just on point. Other EA titles need to take this stuff seriously as well, and deliver the whole package. Small and big stuff.

Played the demo on X1!, Probably played 4-5 games!

I thought the controls felt tighter and more responsive,I upped the difficulty to world class, found it challenging but not crazy-like AI challenging like Fifa14

I liked the faces of the players who have been face scanned, but you can clearly tell who hasn't been scanned!, I really feel Fifa need to step up and match NBA2k in this regard, and adding details like tattoos and things would be an awesome addition to the player models!.

I like the look of the new menus, and the new tactics system!

Can't wait to get stuck into my Manager Mode!

This is exactly what ticks me off with EA Sports. You know they can do it and do it well, but they refuse to do so in the other titles for some reason. They should scrap their teams and rebuild them all in the same manner of the FIFA team.

To be fair though, 2K only has to facescan around what, 500/700 players? Because they only have 30 teams with less players on it than a football team.

FIFA has thousands of players in its database, of course they can't facescan them all and only focus on the biggest and current stars of the game.

Controls & Movement are much tighter in a more realistic fashion. You can sense foot-planting much better.

Presentation is very good although the formation menus can still use some work. It will cut off your ST's name at the top and of course, the dead-space when you go to edit the actual formation. Love the replays when you're on the pause menu/idle. Really showcases the games stunning graphics. Crowd chanting at Anfield seemed good. Crowd visuals are just OK, I would like to see "YNWA" scarves as well as their traditional red/white.

First touch animations are great so far. No more controlling it and "you're off". There seems to be a little intentional delay when passing. LOVE IT because it requires your player to get their feet set. Should make defending online against ping-pong a little easier IF it consistently results in losing possession and/or errant passes.

There seems to be an input delay on penalties when taking them and when trying to save them.

Your teammate AI is still poor when attacking 50-50 balls.

I wish the CPU would take more normal free kicks. Not every FK is something drawn-up from the training ground.

Skill games are awesome as usual

The new tactics are a welcome addition. Only gripe is that they should have added the option to let you select who you want to goo up for corners & what type of marking you want when defending (zonal/man). I nearly scored a header as Immobile because Cabaye was marking me. Yohan wouldn't be marking anyone inside of the box IRL.

So far I'm impressed by the improvement from '14. I still need more time with the demo but as someone who has a logged A LOT (and still do play) of hours on '14 I feel the changes are a welcome improvement.
