Whoa! this is terrific news. So the vintage of this demo is roughly late May early June?

If this is true I feel much better about some of the mindless defending because that means maybe this was just an adjustment cycle while they were tweaking in some of the new changes to game play.

I do not agree with prior reports about the game play changes being subtle.

Poor CPU clearances, a better CPU offense, keepers that makes saves but don't always make clean grabs or lev yashin miracle finger touches that deflect quality strikes around the post, tougher crossing and fouls being called to me are massive changes to the game. For the good.

It's a good year (so people are saying) to get into PES, I guess it can't do any harm trying the demo dude. If you like buid up play, teams setting up like they would in real life, players actually having identity with how they move around the pitch and so on then you'll like it... Providing that PES get it right...
definitely worth a shot, i will give it a go.

I don't want to turn this into a PES vs Fifa Thread but where PES has failed to me in the last few years it has been in the gameplay in Final Third of the pitch whether your playing offence or defence. Fifa has always been the opposite of this to me except on the defence part.

I haven't been into either in the last few years and it breaks my heart because I love me some futbol/soccer but both games have disappointed me over the last 5 or so years. Hopefully I can get back into this year but I am already not to please with one game already.

After some play time, I not really enamored with my defenders, they stink. I understand have the guy with the ball being user dynamic, but damn everyone's not Pele, sheesh.

The defenders can just be so mindless. It's inexcusable. Are you on xbox one? or 360?

Hopes are that this is just down to an early build of the demo.

I want to hear from PS4 people if they are seeing the terrible defending paths the defense takes and horrible decision making they do that happens on the xbox one FIFA demo.

I haven't seen anything like it on PC tbh.

Just a quick point on the earlier 'realism' debate:

Surely if Kompany won every header, Sterling never scored from 40 yards, and Torres' weak foot resulted in guaranteed corner flag hits, the game would be dull and boring.

The whole point of realism, and what makes a sports game great, is that nothing is impossible. Yes, Sterling will probably never score from 40 yards in his life, but it doesn't mean he can't do it. That's what made PES great, and I love the fact that some people are complaining about the unpredictability of things in FIFA. Why? Because it means they are doing it right.

I use The Show as an example. I once threw 10 perfect innings with Gil Meche. That's not a likely occurance, but I've also been able to score 10 runs off Felix Hernandez. 9 times out of 10 he is impossible to hit against, but I know that it is possible, and that's why I love that game. That's why I used to love Pro Evo, and hopefully that will carry on being a huge part of why I love FIFA.

I'm sorry if this has been asked already but when is the demo out for PS4 users in Canada/USA?

I'm not seeing it anywhere

I agree with that. Until 2012 PES was fantastic in the variety of goals scored, and it's general play. In 2014 I felt they took a step back in that regard. I will play it but I can't say I'm that interested any more.

Unfortunately, at this point I'm thinking it may be next week. It's late in the day and I can't remember the last time the PS Store bothered to update for a demo on Thursday - Monday.

I really hope I'm wrong though. I snagged the PS3 demo last night just because I was jonesing so hard but it looks like sautéed gutter-trash compared to current-gen.

EDIT: For whatever it's worth:

Played this for a good few hours now and just can't get on with it doesn't represent the sport very well where it matters. The game heavily favours attack over defence. The defensive ai is awful, they do not defend as a team just individuals there is no anticipation/awareness. it's very poor tactically. Teams play too similar to each other like past games. The goalkeepers decision making is shocking at times. Dribbling feels a bit loose(if that makes sense).

The game still has some great things going for it. Ball physics for passing are very good, nice weight to the ball. The collisions between players amazing. Animations are excellent as well.

As poor/unfinished Pes 2014 was it still felt more like actual soccer than Fifa. My only hope is Pes 2015 now.

Well, based on the info in the link above, they must have found something they want to fix before putting it out on the PS4. But really, I think they are just annoyed about the EA Access thing and this is our punishment.

Nah. The NHL 15 demo went up without a hitch.

Downloaded and played 4 games with my fake UK Account.

When I got my PS4 recently and played NBA 2k14 for the first time, I was blown away.

Now that I have played this, I don't think blown away even begins to cover it!

There are still some issues with the physics/player interactions and defense AI, but overall this is perhaps the best sports game created so far.

The level of detail is amazing; it's almost scary how real some players look.

CAN'T WAIT til the 23rd!!

Yeah. Poor speculation on my part. However, they are having to really smooth over NHL 15 because it's so feature-short.

It does sound as though there's an issue with the PS4 demo (although they're being vague), maybe they want it sorted before it hits the NA market.

My god, the demo makes me want FIFA 15 now!!!
