I didn't say nhl I said editing players on computer games. Sometimes the games crashed when I edit the players on hardball on the pc back in the day or genesis. But I will not say anymore I don't want to detail this thread. Just was giving a reason to maybe way they left it out.
There will be a hockey game next year. I guarantee you that. Poor sales this year will not cancel this franchise in the near future.
The replayability of this title will be severely lacking for most of us. If this game is still being played regularly by Thanksgiving by most of the people here that are in love with this demo and game so far I would be surprised.
I won't begrudge anyone for having their opinion. But as I have said before, the flaws I point out in this game and the missing modes are factual. They can be shown and proven. It just depends on your personal tastes how much you let it bother you and I, for one, have a bitter tongue at this point.
This is a putrid effort all around at producing, marketing, and releasing a quality product. That is my opinion on the matter thus far. And with each milestone towards the street date it only gets reaffirmed.
Honestly I don't think anything is guaranteed at this point. It's one thing to have the same gameplay flaws because so many NHL gamers play online and don't see how bad the AI side of things is. However, to not include all of those online modes is going to severely hit next gen sales. That's how this game sells. I feel bad for anybody out there who goes into buying NHL 15 next gen thinking everything in last gen will be available to them. Obviously with the internet most people do their research before hand, but there are still some who don't. I know this is the only NHL game on the market, but we've seen it before with games. One minute they are here and the next they are gone, even if it's the only choice for that particular sport on the market. I know the odds of it being cancelled aren't very good at all, but I guess I'm just saying I wouldn't be shocked to not see NHL next year or at least a couple years down the road.

This game has survived lockouts and work stoppages and different development teams and consoles coming and going. It will likely keep chugging along unless there is a major lawsuit that jumps up and costs the parent company way too much money to keep it going.
I cannot imagine this game costs that much to develop. And while the sales are under a million per year overall they still get the hardcore people like us that need a hockey game like an addict needs crack to purchase it year in and year out. And even if we don't they still have micro transactions and HUT and all that fun stuff to rake in the cash.
It would take several years of losing money for this franchise to be cancelled. The license is cheap compared to other sports and there is no competition. You will know things are going down when they start dropping Euro leagues and equipment sponsors from the game because of money considerations.
Guys, I simmed to the draft ran into the same problem as the one in the YouTube vid. It seems like a glitch that can be patched because I still received a notification telling me to change my trade block pre draft and noticed teams had made deals during the draft.
It is likely that they game is failing to provide a prompt to enter the draft and thus is forcing you to simulate.
Seems like EA may have just shipped an unfinished product features-wise. Disappointing but I believe it'll be fixable. Hopefully this will not be like what happened with madden on xbox 360 when it first launched.

Oof as someone who didn't care for the other changes coming into today, these are bad. Real bad. Hoping for some Madden 13 patch-ins like they said in that press release.
The no fantasy draft going into BeAGM is real bad news for me. Hopefully we can get some response to these TODAY. Give us something that you're "working" on other than OTP. That patch better not be just that.
As someone who's on PS4, can anyone upload or even save a replay with Xbox DVR function and see if it saves audio?
Yea, I mean I agree with most of what he is saying, but Madden15 is just shy of amazing. It's an awesome football simulation for the first time in years, if not ever.
Wow. Reading this thread has changed my mind a TON about this game, and I'm usually an optimist...not to mention a person who loves presentational features. Even I can't see enough I like about this game to spend full price.
Almost inexcusable to me when most of the PS4/XB1 EA Sports titles (Live and UFC excluded) contain nearly every feature that was there last gen. If FIFA or Madden were to get this treatment, the uproar would be deafening.
Now with a tremendously nerfed Be a GM and player editing features seemingly gone, I seriously hope EA Canada takes the same approach they did with UFC and add free features/content updates throughout the year. That's an example of a game that's doing it right, and that will be the one of the only things that could potentially save the damage that's already been done to NHL's reputation.
Am I the only one who doesn't care at all that you can't edit players?
I only care for created players and it seems you can make players. If that is in the game then patching edit players shouldn't be so hard. Let's really hope they do some UFC enhancing here.
Man what a disappointment this has turned out to be. I wasn't crazy about the demo and it sounds like things haven't really changed at all. I'm really glad I picked up Madden this year, it's actually quite good and will save me the $60 I would've spent on this.
I understand the negativity of the board, as nhl 15 is missing A LOT traditional features and the dev team should get flak for it. But me....I don't care of being a GM, drafting, trading, editing goalies. I just want a solid authentic game experience ON ICE.
So can we get more gameplay impressions? If the gameplay is solid without any player edits:
1) good scoring feel
2) no cpu robo-passing
3) cpu defenders are pretty aggressive on the blue line..
4) no comeback AI
5) playing the kings is significantly different and harder than playing the flames.
6) 3-4 penalties a game per team.
I can play the game using PLAY NOW exclusively until next year. I really can....
I realize that doesn't have a good chance of happening with nhl 15, but the demo's more aggressive CPU D-men gave me hope for this series. Also, the elimination of cpu robo passing was a huge surprise for me. these were 2 of my 3 biggest gameplay complaints for the last 5 years. The 3rd being not enough penalties. If people play 12 minute periods and can get 7-8 penalties on average per game....then that would be great.
