2K Sports announced yesterday that Kevin Durant will be 1 of 4 current NBA players with an overall rating above 90, in their new rating system. He will have an overall 95 rating.
Im almost positive Melo is one of the 90+.. The other is either cp3, Blake, or Dwight.. Those are the only options or at least they should be. Hopefully 2k did their homework and got it right

I agree. I think it would be cp3 over Blake because there is still argument about how close alridge, and love are to Blake therefore having them all around 87-89 would make sense. Dwight is also the best center in the league but I couldn't put him over cp3 or melo seeing as he is a sidekick(even though he is better than harden). If the top four are Bron, KD, Melo and CP3 then that to me shows 2k got it right because those are currently the only four superstars in the league. Westbrook/Blake/Love/harden are all on the cusps but not there.
Cover guy or not, KD is no 95. Sorry. The day he locks it down defensively, or develops a big time post game like MJ/Kobe/Magic, then he can be a 95. GTFO
Of course he got cover love, lol...
But to be fair, he IS the MVP and last year was his best ever...
OKC 2nd in the West without Russie for half the year...
I still think 95 is too high but a 95 plausible...
I'm assuming LeBron is a 98 but I guess we'll know soon
Melo is a 91 at the least. He's the best all-around scorer in the game. He hardly has any cold spots on the court. Score in the post, 3pt line, mid ranged, tradition, iso. If look at lebrons and kds shot charts you'll see they are red hot from maybe 4-5 spots on the floor and maybe average or a lil below average or don't ever shoot from other spots. Melo can score from anywhere. There's no gameplaning for him.
He's also very versatile. He can play point forward if u need him to( did it under mike d'antoni) excellent rebounder for his position. And underated for his defense. He's no kawhi but he's a little above average on on ball d. His problem had always been team defense and hustle. And he's much improved as a knick in those areas if u watch knicks games ( and not just the national televised ones). He's not James harden out there getting burned and showing no effort at all
And of course Lbj and cp3 should be there. Or maybe dwight takes cp3s spot.
He did last time too.. Bottom line is he doesn't deserve a 90+ at all because he hasn't played enough in the past two years to know how good of a player he is
Durant, LeBron, CP3, and it should be someone like Anthony Davis or even D-Rose after seeing how good he looks in FIBA play, but the last will probably be Melo even though he's not much of a defensive player.
Pau always plays well in world play. But he gets bullied in NBA play. he's not a post scoring threat in the NBA anymore - he gets pushed out of good post position; and bullied into flailing off balance low % shots in the post. Die hard Laker fan here..
People say he hasn't gotten enough touches in the post in recent years, and that's absolutely true. But, when he does go in the post - he's barely effective as a scorer there anymore. He shot 42% in the post last year.(according to Synergy Sports)
He's still a great passer, tho. And he'll get a team a horrible team in need of scoring 18ppg off of a handful of 18ft jumpers, a putback, a FT trip, and only a couple post scores.. He score 18ppg with a contending team, tho..
I love your comment (I am a hard Lakers fan as well). It is true that Pau is not the player he was before because he is being pushed -bullied- by strong players (A lot of times I think the referees take advantage of players that don't complain a lot), but as he is showing in the FIBA world, he is a superstar that knows how to play this sport better than the majority of the players in the NBA. The NBA is going to much to the muscle type of game, but thankfully San Antonio showed this year, that you have to still know how to play this beautiful sport besides your physical capabilities. But that is another story...
The only players that it could be are (in no particular order): LeBron, CP3, Curry, Westbrook, Melo, Durant, and Paul George. I don't think that it would be George because of his injury, Curry or Westbrook because 2K seems to hate them. So that leaves LeBron, Durant, CP3 and Melo. Melo certainly isn't a top 4 player in the NBA, but his skill set translates to a great video game player. If George wasn't hurt, he'd be up there too.
