2K Sports announced yesterday that Kevin Durant will be 1 of 4 current NBA players with an overall rating above 90, in their new rating system. He will have an overall 95 rating.
I'm going to have to agree with some and say Duncan at 90 is too high, given the system he plays in, the rest he gets in the regular season, and his somewhat reduced but solid production from his prime.
I think I might also rate Howard slightly higher or equal, but it's hard to say. As a homer I'd put Curry as the last 90 slightly behind CP3-- maybe even edging CP3 if we factor in durability (Curry's missed only a handful of games for two seasons and post seasons now).
At any rate, I have to agree that it'd be hard to concede that Duncan's the 4th best player in the league. Top 10 certainly.
If no defense flopping Harden is the last 90+ player, I'm going to stab somebody.
he is the big fundamental...which means awareness rating (should be a 99 for both O and D) which in every sports game ive ever played instantly skyrockets overall
in terms of individual ratings, i find it hard to believe he is top 4.
Been saying it for a couple years now though, Batum is a highly underrated player.

You completely missed the point. He's slightly above Batum as a player. And if he's 94(according to turty) then Batum should be 88-92. Just used the picture to prove my point that he isn't deserving of 94.
saw an image in another thread with kevin love where it showed a 90 as a rebounding PF (i assume it was OVR, but could be his rebounding category)
It is overall; that image shows what each overall is per player type. However, he will not be 90 overall out of the box per Simballer. That was during a season where there was progression, thus the higher ratings.

Yeah the formula has always been broken. I'd prefer the overall to actually mean something but in actuality the only real problem with it probably has to do with player roles and the contract he would demand. I'd rather they buff the overalls if that makes them play better.
But supposedly the formula has been revamped so maybe this will all work out. If Beds got any input into it it will probably help but I personally never used his rosters so i'm curious if they had any flaws too.
As far as Duncan, I probably dont put him in my top 25 players anymore. I think Parker makes that team go and everyone understands their role and they all get quality shots and play team defense even if they aren't all premier on ball defenders. I think TP's numbers were down last year but How many players do you get around 20 ppg from to go with 7 assists shooting around 50%? From a guard too? That's pretty special imo.
