NBA Live 15 News Post

EA Sports has just released their NBA Live 15 improved visuals trailer. They have also released the NBA Live 15 features list.

Let us know what you think!

Lights, Camera, Action
We’re doubling down on visuals with an all-new scanning and lightning technique for the most photo-realistic player models in franchise history. Add into the mix player specific body types and contextual emotional responses and you will truly feel like you’re in the action.

Real-Time Physics in the Paint
Feel the impact of real-time physics on every drive, post move and collision in the most trafficked area on the court. 100+ new animations make it possible for something unpredictable and amazing to happen on every play. Scoring has been amped up with 3x the variety of dunks, layups and signature shots as you impose your will on your opponent with physicality you can feel.

Ultra-Responsive Controls
Passing, shooting and dribbling will feel snappier the moment you pick up the sticks. Freestyle Passing takes your assist game to the next level with no looks, behind the backs, and more. An all-new shot feedback system teaches you how to successfully get buckets, measuring three key factors in real-time to determine shot quality. Enhancements to bounceTek allow you to make cuts and change momentum on a dime, giving you the ability to create space and pull off devastating skilled dribble moves on the run.

Smarter AI & Transition Game
New AI logic drives all 10 players to move with intent and purpose while displaying greater off-ball awareness, adjusting as every play develops. Add in a smooth transition game as well as real-world offensive sets and defensive schemes and you’ve got 48 minutes and 94 feet of end-to-end, dynamic gameplay.

Defense Is Fun
New defensive systems make it easier to contain your man by using just the left stick. Contextual physicality, bumps and jostles, in addition to a new shot blocking system, delivers simplicity in controls helping you make that big defensive stop when your team needs it most.

Cmon yall don't be fooled by this trailer....we all know EA's history. They get you hype off of a trailer and then later you're taking this game to gamestop to trade in and get 2K...Don't be fooled

sincerely 2K fan (since 99' the original 2k) lol

That's exactly what happened to 2k14 lol....you drive in the paint and fumbling the ball like an idiot and ended up turning over the ball when you try to pass out. That's not realistic to me...I rather have total control and play an semi-unrealistic animation gameplay-wise than semi-control and have realistic animation where you have no control over.

Why does the back of the jerseys hang like that on the players?

IKC asked EA on twitter if it was CGI and they responded with no. All gameplay.

so you have never seen NBA players miss handle the ball before? Please tell me you have because it's common in today's league. Watch FIBA to see it even more. 2k edit the realistic animations it's just that you guys get easily frustrated because you want it to be like the old basketball games without the simulation aspects

Have to say, I'm super excited. Seen some things i like, but some that i don't as well. All in All, very satisfied visually and i move closer to preordering it. Shoes, graphics, accessories, jerseys look top notch. Amir Johnson and that lebron looks insane. Demar dosen't thrill me, maybe because he is missing is fro. The footwork though, looks very very promising (need 5- on 5 to properly judge). Trailer, got me hyped, great yr for nba sport fans. However, there colors just aren't up to the live standard for me. Live usually always excels in this area, not sure why. Some player skintones look off, lebron and Curry. Just doesnt look realistic. Lastly, the animations. Though improved, they still are a bit to robotic. That blake griffin dunk just doesnt portray a realistic range of motion no matter how i look at it. Despite all i have said, I'm pleased and thrilled with what i have seen. Congrats EA, you have my attention.

Glad to see some folks giving the game some props. Great foundation moving forward for EA and the Live devs. These guys are good dudes that do care about the title. I have the utmost faith in them long term.

Also, to reiterate, none of this was cgi, all in game.

One of the biggest things that I'm surprised to see no conversation on, feature wise, are the physics in the paint. To me, this is HUGE.

Definitely looks better than I expected, but it's also a bit of a smoke and mirrors highlight montage. Until I get to see 5-10 minutes of actual gameplay, I can't really pass judgement one way or the other. I'm impressed that they finally sacked up and released something, and not something that immediately fails the eyeball test, a la NBA Live 14.

I haven't bought or been a fan of a NBA Live game in awhile. Matter of fact the last one I've played more than one game in and thought they were going in the right direction was Live 10. Obviously many are going to find the negative in this and you can find that in every game but I have to admit this is looking pretty damn good right now.

The most important thing is that EA seems to be getting on track again and that's the most important thing, more important than any negative you can look for in this trailer IMO cause as said many times around here competition is good and we all win. Hope it looks as good with 5 on 5 play, so far well done EA you have my attention moving forward.

Nice to see a few different types of passes in there, Contact in the paint looks waaaaaay better

Just wanted to put this here for people saying Blake's dunk didn't look realistic.

More than anything else, I agree with this. I just want both companies going toe to toe on equal footing. It will only help us fans of both present strong offerings.

I gotta say, i love what i'm seeing so far. Keep it up EA.

Here we go again...we're talking about total control. It's totally two different things when you have animations that you can't control and animations that you can.

# 198 NumberOneRB @ 09/02/14 06:26 PM
The Blake Griffin dunk looked a bit odd (almost as if he got slightly rejected by the rim), but everything else looked very well done. Player likenesses and body types are especially impressive.

# 199 Halloween @ 09/02/14 06:29 PM
Players facial movements and emotions look way better than 2k's. Also they seem to have signature facials...look at Lillard at the end. That's HIS mean muggin face.

2k's angry looks are generic and watching Live, it looks more like they need to ish than anything else.

For real, i am not lying....I thought the graphics was spot on ...it really look like what a real life NBA players would look like on TV...i am not kidding. NBA2k15 players for some reason....they all getting slimmer this year. LIVE 15 looks spot on...i mean just compare Dwight Howard on both games and you see what i mean. The size of players in NBALIVE15 is perfecto!! So, i am happy to see that. But of course graphics dont' mean nothing if the game play is weak. But at least, AT LEAST this game gives me HOPE! You know why?? TOTAL USER CONTROL baby!! That's right...all these years that I have to suffer under NBA 2K iterations year after year...this game NBALIVE15 gives me a glimpse of hope that i can finally be able to play the game based on my skills and not being dictated by the game heavy used of animations for the sake of simulation and realism. Here's hoping...

I wish that I could share your enthusiasm and optimism for Live. But it's one of those things that I just have to feel for myself with this franchise. Now if the actual 5 on 5 gameplay is as fluid and dynamic as this trailer then, sweet mercy! I understand your sentiments on wanting complete control. But to me, there's a fine line. I want the control, but I also want true to the sport animations to "sell it". 2K goes a little overboard with some (steal, rebounding), I'll admit, but I would prefer those to none at all. I'd actually prefer "less" control to differentiate players. For instance, If I'm playing with Dirk I want there to be a slight delay when I'm running out to guard a perimeter shot; Serge Ibaka, on the other hand, would react instantaneously to my command and pressure the shooter much quicker. I want Derrick Rose to "explode" off the dribble when attacking the lane on my command, while Chauncey Billups just puts his head down and muscles his way in. I like stuff like that. To each his own. I'm gonna give the demo a shot though and see how it stacks up. It looks like there is a legitimate shot at current gen hoops being a slugfest. I love it!
