NBA 2K15 News Post

NBA 2K15 made some serious noise earlier today by debuting some in-game footage as well as the pre-game studio show and a lot of new atmosphere elements within the game. It's time to ask the OS Staff Writers what they thought of the trailer, and whether you should be as excited as you think you are for the game.

Hopefully hair physics is in for players as well. (Notice the cheerleaders)

I wasn't really looking at the graphics for the trailer but more like at some new animations and I didn't see too many, that's what made this slightly underwhelming to me. I'd have love to see more crossovers, more layups animations, some sexy post up moves, some signature dribble moves.

No doubt the game is pretty and that this trailer wasn't bad.

Yeah usually something in these trailers will stand out as "wow that's new" gameplay wise and I didn't see much here besides the AD rebound...(which I hope is contextual)

Still a nice sizzle trailer...

Trailer was nothing but offense and I don't blame em since thats what the ******s want to see. For once I would love to see something like this in the trailer...it could be even be a quick shot for all I care....just as long it's in the trailer.

BTW 2k's 7 footers has a problem leaving the ground...have a look st this clip of Wilt....Shaq in his day used to do this to...

This. The arms in particular are way too skinny (and still short) for many of the players. I was really hoping to see a more diverse body types this year, but looks like it's just the same as last year.

I have to agree with you the vertical rating has to matter. But I would have to say most bigs don't have verticals like that that is rare. They would have to fix more gameplay mechanics if they let bigs jump like that

Plumlee, Dwight, McGee, Jordan, Noel, Ibaka, Drummond and Davis. The combination of height + long arms plus high vertical is just rare. I would say that was about it in the last 10 years

This game looks amazing. 2K is like the only company that actually listens to the gamers. They cleaned up the graphics from last year, brought back the cheerleaders, and made the gameplay smoother. But yet you guys find something to b*tch about.

Thank you 2k I recognize the hard work you put in. Can't wait to get my hands on this game!!!
I bought into the hype from trailer last year. I think its natural and we have the right to be skeptical.

But then again their animations are already more diverse than any sports game ever.

I don't know I wasn't convinced with how their first game on the next gen animates. There are a lot of terrible animations in the game too.

It's still better than the same exact stuff for 90% of the players, flawed or not.

Dude as a consumer I'am looking for improvements. If that's not right in your mind then so be it.

So you're saying you don't believe they have made improvements?

I can see where there target is though and have stopped being as frustrated. I see countless praises by gamers that are only semi basketball fans, but to the gamers who live and breath ball, the competitive gameplay is a mess.
Man at this point 2k doesn't have to change anything. This is the MO. Hype the game. Hype the game. Hype the game. Their going to get their money simply because people will run out and buy it regardless. Maybe a developer will rise in the future who will address the needs of all of the bball sim population. Until then, we're stuck with 2k and live.

What does this have to do with the trailer?

Nothing he's just an angry gamer....just read up on his past posts....frankly I don't even know why he still posts if he's not satisfied.

I hate to keep saying it but trying to be patient but if the band's starts coming in hard don't say I want being fair or didn't let people know.

And if I'm a quick PG, I shouldn't need to use dribble moves to blow past a big lug if ones guarding me.
its a common misconception that it should just be a matter of blowing by big men with a guard. actually bigs are quicker and force settling for bad shots more often than one would think. the difference is actually in lateral speed, making them more susceptible to hesitations and double moves.

I don't think anyone pointed this out, but I am glad the cheerleaders do not move in perfect unison. if you'll notice you'll have a few a split second or so behind. I think little details like that show how much they pay attention to the little things. it makes it more real to life and not just some code that makes everyone do the same thing.
