Madden NFL 15 News Post

Early access to Madden NFL 15 has arrived for EA Access subscribers.

Exclusive to Xbox One users, EA Access subscribers get six hours of gameplay. So make sure you close out of the app when it's not in use. The timer starts when you start the game and pauses when you exit and close the app.

UPDATE: EA Access subscribers can download it, but can't actually play it. We will update when they get it working...

UPDATE #2: Just received this Twitter response from EA Access.

UPDATE #3: Everything works now, post your impressions in the new post.

This would be ~$77 with tax for me retail. So EA Access saved me $25.
I doubt that but it would be cool if it was

That's a pretty good deal for MUT players for sure, but I don't know if it stakes up against the Best Buy deal.

Yeah, almost seems like a price mistake on that bundle.

Either way digital alone has it's own advantages with the XB1 that also outweight it to physical for me. Quick game switching without swapping discs and being able to have it on both of my Xbox Ones.

Yea. That or EA is giving you an extra $10 value to keep you from going physical.

I think there's also a typo on the release date.....

How long until someone figures out how to play longer than 6 hours?

Oh derp you're right. Ultimate is 30. Either way EA is throwing in 11 for free.

Do achievements unlock in the EA access version?

D'oh! You're right.

Still, for those interested in MUT I suppose 11 packs are a good deal? I don't play the mode myself, so I have no idea lol

I still can't play it I downloaded it when they had the glitch I hope I don't have to download again

Was hoping to download this via smartglass, it comes up, says its Free with EA Access. So I click the purchase button, for $0. Hit confirm, then I get an error "Something went wrong. Give it another try. If this happens again, let us know by entering the code below at xbox.com/errorhelp so we can investigate" However... there is no error code..

Ugh.. Looks like I'll have to drive home at lunch now to start it..

Food for thought:

I work in the game industry, not gonna say for whom for confidentially reasons, but I wonder if there is a way around the 6 hours? Now I can play Madden 25 that I got from EA Access offline with no internet connection, so essentially it doesnt need to check for a license. I would assume Madden 15 wouldnt need to either.

Now this time is either gonna be an internal timer, or the game is gonna check in with EA servers to check on the time already spent. Essentially if you dont connect to live, how else would the game know if it cant check in with the server to record the time? I am going to play mine offline to see what happens.

Hmm. $53.99 does sound good. I was going to get Madden for the PS4 but I may just get it for the Xbox one instead at that price. Ahh decisions decisions

Xbox live is a tricky lil booger. They say there's no check ins but a lot of times you can't get into games without any sort of bandwidth.

Yesterday I could not get into Diablo when Xfinity went down.

@Instant I would assume that the console would need to be connected to the internet to even play it through EA access though right?
