EA Access News Post

The official EA Access twitter account today confirmed that the platform will only support six hours of Madden NFL 15 gameplay. Considering EA Sports Season Ticket offers Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 users access to the game for three full days, this news comes as a disappointment for Xbox One fans.

Without a Madden NFL 15 demo, EA Access and EA Sports Season Ticket is the only way consumers can play the game early. Unfortunately, EA Access is exclusive to the Xbox One, which means PlayStation 4 gamers are left out in the cold on any early access period.

While EA Access certainly has its benefits with The Vault, the sports gamer looked at the deal as a no-brainer, since it offered early access to games. However, with time limits set to just six hours of gameplay, that could deter many of them.

While EA Sports has confirmed demos for both NHL 15 and FIFA 15, we would like to hear from the community concerning the six hour gameplay limit for Madden NFL 15 on EA Access.

Sound off!

Look at it from my perspective. At this time the only game in the vault that would interest me would be BF4. Thats a game I already sold because it was a broken mess. Games constantly dropping online, tough to actually get into a game. Campaign kept resetting. I dont doubt it was fixed in a patch but its still only 1 game that I could probably buy for $20-$30. Also Madden 15 cost me $41.03 from bestbuy with GCU and using a $10 reward certificate so 10% off Madden meant nothing to me. What was pulling me in was thinking I would get 5 days of full access to sports titles. Im a sports gaming junkie just like 95% of members of this website. That got cut down to 6 hours, theres no value for me and alot of other people at this time.

Season Ticket, got you 4 games 3 days early, some people don't like waiting. So for 6 bucks a title you got the game 3 days before most of the community.

A free demo is more valuable to me, than 6 hours of gameplay, last years' games (which I already had) and DLC that I never purchase. . .
If you expected 5 full days then you were not paying attention. When they used words and phrases like "trial" and "limited time".

For $5 you get 10% off Madden and any digital content you buy in a month, and 6 hours of early access to the entire game. As well as free access to games like Peggle 2, Fifa 14, Battlefield 4.

People who do not think that is worth it are lying to themselves.

Then just pay the $5? You just saved 10% off Madden and didn't have to pay the $25 season ticket price.

I understand, but just because you dont, doesnt mean others dont play it..It might be a bad value for you ,but great value for others. So to say its a bad value in general is dumb.

why do you keep referring to these games as free??? You are paying a subscription thus no subscription no games

Okay? But Season Ticket was already gone. Why are you comparing it to Season Ticket when Season Ticket was already eliminated?

It was (and still is with Season Ticket) only 3 days of full access but your point remains valid.

All I can say is wow. I can understand 6 hours for a story centric game, but for a sports game? That's 4 maybe 5 games, not to mention loading screens and what not. This really isn't a good value of a product. And before anyone says anything yes I already have at least 2 of the free games and I don't care for soccer that much. I had a feeling something was up when I saw a monthly subscription as one of the payment options instead of just a year like season ticket was.

Why are people referring to the 3 day access with Season Ticket free? You have to pay $25...which to some is over half the price of Madden.

Actually its about both including the discounts. But different parts of the program appeal to different gamers.

There is really no need to defend anything from EA. They didn't lie, and in no way are they forcing anyone to do anything. If you like the program, buy it. If you don't, than don't buy it. They also didn't announce the parameters and details of the program at the very last second. People have 3 days(before Madden is available to play) to decide if they want to gain access to this program.

Words that all could be referring to the 5 days, but I'm sure that won't get in the way of the torrent of 'told you so's'

Agreed. For me the only appealing part of this service was the notion it was like season ticket. As it stands for me now its simply not worth the money or effort.

if you think ticket was a good deal, wow. For $25 a year you get 3 days early access to only sports games. Full access. So that is 12 days of gaming for $25 a year.

For $30 you get four full games now and more later including limited full games of the same games.

There is no way ticket is a better deal than Access wehether you get full access for sports games for three days.

For you, it may be better value as you stated, but overall, EA access is a better value period regardless of limit or not whether you think the four games or obsolete or not.

I'm disappointed for sure but, only because I expected EA Access to be at least be like Season Ticket as far as the time you got with sports games. I'm an xbox only guy but, I'm not going to always paint a positive picture like some are just to win the xbox v sony fanboy fight.

I still think access is a good value overall for me but, It ticks me off that EA waited so long to tell us what they knew we wanted to here about the time limit. They did this on purpose to get more sales. It's going to backfire because I won't be renewing for a while just to prove a point.

If they would have been truthful from the beginning they would have got my 30 dollars in a few days when my one month is up. Instead 5 is all they're getting from me for a while as far as EA Access goes.

Disappointing, but 6 hours is still a long time. It's not like it's an hour or something.

EA access is still a huge win regardless of the 6 hr demo.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But I will personally will be more impressed with this service when they add a game that is not outdated to the vault. Adding Madden 25, FIFA 14 and BF4 after I already own them isn't that enticing. Being able to play full titles for 5 days unlimited would impress me but now we see that for all these games access will only be granted for a few hours. Honestly it's typical EA under delivering and overselling.
