EA Access News Post

The official EA Access twitter account today confirmed that the platform will only support six hours of Madden NFL 15 gameplay. Considering EA Sports Season Ticket offers Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 users access to the game for three full days, this news comes as a disappointment for Xbox One fans.

Without a Madden NFL 15 demo, EA Access and EA Sports Season Ticket is the only way consumers can play the game early. Unfortunately, EA Access is exclusive to the Xbox One, which means PlayStation 4 gamers are left out in the cold on any early access period.

While EA Access certainly has its benefits with The Vault, the sports gamer looked at the deal as a no-brainer, since it offered early access to games. However, with time limits set to just six hours of gameplay, that could deter many of them.

While EA Sports has confirmed demos for both NHL 15 and FIFA 15, we would like to hear from the community concerning the six hour gameplay limit for Madden NFL 15 on EA Access.

Sound off!

It only cost me $5 to play FIFA so it was well worth it but the way they went about it was terribly unprofessional/bad business. Think they ever heard of the Better Business Bureau?

Didn't EA say their games would be limited? Most assume the sports games wouldn't have a limit..

You are different than me. I'm a sports fan so I already purchased Fifa and Madden. I also purcahsed Battlefield because it was one of the few good launch games. So the only game I was getting was Peggle.

Even with their future games, I already have UFC. I plan to buy Madden and Fifa again. So the only games they could put in the vault that I would want would be NHL and Dragon Age but that wont be until 2015.

So the early access was the main reason I subscribed for a month.

This site does have an age limit, no? I mean I hope I'm speaking to adults here and not wasting my time imparting logic into this conversation.
Can you not read. Season ticket, as he stated, give us 72 hours of gameplay without having to purchase the game. I swear some people.

Second, EA has given 72 hr access to their sports games for 3 years and still has sold millions of games. If anything people playing the game for 72 hrs encouraged them to buy the games.
This. Resulted in more positive sales from me than negatives. In the end they got my $25 + $60 because 72 hours of the full version made up my mind to buy the retail version when I wasn't planning to otherwise. Only negative from me was Madden 13.

I knew Madden trial was going to be only six hours two weeks ago, and still purchased EA Access after the fact. I get four games in the vault(plus more later on), and get to play Madden for six hours, earlier than I would have. I can get a pretty darn good feel for what a game plays like in six full hours of time spent with it. Hell, I have purchased full price games that had only 9-10 hour single player campaign.

For me, that's a pretty good deal -

I knew there was a catch. Glad I waited to pull the trigger. I mean 6 hours? Whats the point?

The problem people here are having trouble understanding, is that you can pay just $5 and this is not a Sports exclusive feature. You get access to vault games, %10 off Madden 15 and everything applies to non sports games as well.

Dont understand why people are saying this is a bad deal lol,
You are getting 4 games for free,10%off digital version and 10% off ultimate team packs, early access to the games...

Overall its a great service unless all you care about is the sports games i guess, but even with it being 6 hrs you will end up saving money off just the ultimate team packs..

Disappointed with the 6hrs gamplay limit but overall the program is worth the money in the long run.

Perhaps, perhaps not.

The fact remains that those of us who used to subscribe to EA's Season Ticket program got exactly that. It was not unreasonable to assume that would be the case here as well. To call out unhappy consumers for making that assumption is asinine.

I previously purchased 3 of those games. I dont buy digital games. I dont play ultimate team. 2 of those games have new versions that I will buy by the end of September making those two free games useless.

Ea Access is not about getting early access to games, it's about being able to play games that are in the vault! The demos are just icing on the cake. I believe 6 hours isn't ideal but it's better than nothing.

EA Access != Season Ticket. EA Access is for more than just sports titles. For people who buy more than just sports titles from EA, this is still great.

The only way this is not worth it is if you paid for a full year ahead of time and only planned on every buying Madden 15. Which made no sense to begin with.

It isn't a bad deal, it is just people think this is called EA access for Madden NFL 15.

Overall, deal is still good, the limit is dumb, but is it really that bad? Not really.

Okay. So I traded in my copy of BF4 for 20 bucks. So I paid 10 bucks for FIFA and to eventually have Dragon Age, Need for Speed, UFC, and NHL.

4 titles that will be obsolete within 4 months, discount on already inflated DLC for stuff that really doesn't do much for sports titles (coins)? 6 hours of gameplay, when you were expecting 5 days worth of action? Terrible execution.

Season Ticket, got you 4 games 3 days early, some people don't like waiting. So for 6 bucks a title you got the game 3 days before most of the community.

A free demo is more valuable to me, than 6 hours of gameplay, last years' games (which I already had) and DLC that I never purchase. . .

I already own the games too. So I sold my discs for Madden, BF4 & FIFA. Got enough for them when the beta started to pay for a year (which gave me those games back) plus pretty much cover Madden 15.

This was never advertised to be like Season Ticket nor is it a sports game exclusive program. They also said "trials" which pretty much let you know that you would not have 5 days of unlimited access. Hell I figured it would be 2 hours.

So madden 12 , 11 and 13 all hgave 5 days full access , now its 6 hours , we really are going backwards arent we lol

Seems like the people who are defending EA access don't understand that the one complaining don't care about the games in the vault, discounts or all that other stuff.

# 120 carthagebaseball @ 08/18/14 02:29 PM
Oh well. With my hectic family life, I don't know how much more I could play a day anyways (1.2 hours).
