“Dan LeBatard will be off the air for two days, returning Monday. His recent stunt does not reflect ESPN’s standards and brand. Additionally, we were not made aware of his plans in advance.”
Windy also said LeBron played last season out of shape. His wedding and championship celebration I guess really took it's toll.
Like I thought, LeBron is cutting some weight to deal with those cramping problems he had last year.
I'm sorry but I call bull**** on this, lol.
We constantly hear about how he ALWAYS takes care of body and give him constant praise for the fact that he "takes a beating" every year and never suffers any major or even significant injuries but all of a sudden the year they lose in the Finals, gets a few cramps(which are overblown because they happened in the Finals)yet he played the entire year out of shape?
Never thought I'd see OSU fabricating stuff about LeBron...especially after all of the rant bombs
I was the one here who said Spo making him play too many minutes would be a detriment to him a couple of years back and everyone was saying he's so young and in such great shape that he is fine....

Now he was out of shape?
You weren't alone on this. I was also saying that it was no good having Lebron play 40 minutes just to beat the bucks because they didn't play solid D. Everything counts when you're going for a three peat.
Sadly I also said that Tony Parker would be tired after playing so much basketball the last two years and that Tim Duncan was getting too old to win it all.
LeBron said himself he was out of shape entering the season...Doesn't mean he had a gut and saddlebags...just wasn't in his desired game shape....not really all that unbelievable to me...
Yeah LeBron admitted like within the first month of the season that he spent too much time off recovering and celebrating from the year before.. I wouldn't necessarily say he was "out of shape" but he said all year long his conditioning wasn't where it had been in years past, and I think he was largely blaming his back issues he was having on that.
Saying he was out of shape is overblown, but since LeBron said it himself I wouldn't call it fabricating.
I'm not disagreeing with the notion that he started off the season out of shape. Plenty of players do as well and usually takes them the first month or 2 to get into their regular playing shape, so I wouldn't put it past Lebron to fit in this category as well.
I'm disagreeing with the notion that he was out of shape most of last season or even half of the season. That's where I call BS and I'm not saying OSU made that up because he did say Windhorst reported it. Guess I should've been more specific then since I obviously didn't mean he was playing with a beer belly and eating donuts before every game.
I think a better term than "out of shape" probably could've been used...I just took it as him saying that his conditioning was never where he wanted it to be though...You'll hear coaches talking about guys "playing heavy last year" and things like that when players decide to cut weight or body fat.
but yeah, I would assume it's near impossible to literally be out of shape for an entire season, unless your Eddy Curry.
side note: Who was that player that said they used to eat 3-4 slices of pizza before games?

Just to be clear, I don't agree with Windy either.
I do think LeBron lost weight to deal with cramping, though. I think LeBron was just too heavy and had too much muscle on his frame. Dude is aging, he shouldn't continue looking like a 270LB tank continually.
