WWE 2K15 News Post

GameInformer published an article today with a few details on the PS4/XB1 debut of the WWE 2K series. There are several interesting tidbits in the article, here are some highlights:
  • Visual Concepts is taking a much bigger role this year in the game's development. One area they are particularly involved in is the face scanning process, which is the same as NBA 2K.
  • Face scan results are all said to be quite impressive.
  • Visual concepts is working towards more realistic match pacing and flow, the goal is to mimic WWE TV broadcasts as much as possible.
  • There are 5x more animations than in 2K14.
  • WWE 2K15 features five times more audio commentary lines versus last years game.
WWE 2K15 is set to launch on October 28, we are expecting more info on the game to start arriving soon!

Since I obviously need to spell it out.

WWE Attitude Mode:
Significant events during the Attitude Era, strictly WWE.

Monday Night Wars Mode:
Significant events during WCW and WWE that allowed the battle between the two premier wrestling companies in the country including times that made the people change the channel to the other, superstars jumping ship and making surprise debuts on other shows etc.

I was speaking more from an in-game perspective. I understand the difference between the two in the real-world sense.

In terms of a game, a theoretical 'Monday Night War' theme seems like it'd be a tough sell considering how many key events they already put into the Attitude Era mode in WWE '13. This WWE redundancy would dampen some of the appeal of the mode.

Beyond that, to accurately represent the Monday Night War you'd need a heavy focus on out-of-the-ring segments which may not be interesting to play through in a video game.

I don't know if it's real or not, and I'm going to assume it was until it's announced. But I seen a WWE 2K15 Stardust picture (their still pictures they release whenever someone is announced). 2K hasn't posted anything, it wasn't posted on Stardust's Twitter.. So I'm going to assume it's fake for now but it looked legit.

If you're talking about actual booking the shows, and going head to head with one another, where ratings are dependent on match quality and feuds, then we're talking a separate mode that you can call Monday Night Wars.

Otherwise, if Monday Night Wars is playing WWF and WCW during the late 90s, you've already done that in WWE 13 with the Attitude Era mode.

Yeah exactly. Like in 13 you played the match where Mankind won the title on Raw. WCW gave away the ending and Raw never lost in the ratings again. That EXACT same match would HAVE to be in the Monday Night Wars mode.

You haven't been able to comprehend what I said from the beginning so like I said posts ago, move on.

Personally I hope Statdust is in the game. But at the same time I also would like regular Cody Rhodes as well.

I would love if they had that as well, since many wrestlers maybe had several gimmicks, personalities, entrances, and attire.

I said in a different thread I believe that I thought they should bring real alternates back. Like, you go over Cody Rhodes, change his alternate to maybe the Dashing Cody Rhodes or Stardust.

I think they did that in WWE'12. You could switch between Dashing Cody Rhodes and Disfigured Cody Rhodes. I'm not sure if they had others in that game but that is the only one I recall.

I do remember you saying that bigbob and that is a great idea which I do hope we get this with this game.
