Madden NFL 15 News Post

It looks like we will finally have tattoos in Madden. Check out the latest Madden NFL 15 screenshot of Colin Kaepernick showing off his ink.

UPDATE: Via @EricFisherSBJ

Kaepernick personally secured his own permissions for tattoos in upcoming "Madden." Not sign of broader plan.

NFL doesn't have a contractual ban against tattoos in Madden. Artist permissions have been issue, but Kap got his own.

I want to be more excited, because thats pretty looking.....but how it looks in motion is far more important to me now a days.

Quite honestly Id be ok with 360 graphics if it moved and acted in more of a realistic fashion

Not really into tats, but as a lifelong Niner fan, lovin' the ink on Kap. I also hope everybody else gets theirs as well.

It looks very close to the real thing. Kudos on getting the player models right.

Pretty much this.

He's running in the complete opposite direction of his line, Staley turning and running back towards him, presumably to pick up a rusher who's likely chasing after. 3 offensive lineman huddled in one spot... what a weird shot. Facemasks and fit of that helmet need some work. Was hoping for all new equipment too. Old gloves, an unmodified QB wristband, handwarmer need some resizing; it looks like a fanny pack. And the flak jackets still look a tad bulky.

Madden and NCAA usually look pretty nice in stills. Madden has a lot more to prove to truly impress.

Pic looks great but that has always been the case with Madden.

Let me see this game in motion and how players move... There should be several different running animations and player specific animations similar to NBA 2K.

Animations, Animations, Animations

Gameplay, Gameplay, Gameplay.

EA is stepping their game up. This is a next gen screenshot, Kudos!

The ball size actually looks legit. I'm not too sure how it looked in 25 given that I was not able to get a next gen console but he actually looks like he can legitimately place his fingers on the laces and throw the ball. Just a small thing I noticed compared to the jumbo balls in past Maddens.

Ball size was adjusted for M13, I believe. Remember when it was practically a basketball? lol

The structure of his arms is what really impresses me, all of it actually.

Finally, different looking body forms and not the same ones just enlarged.

Impressive.

That's what I am think. Only for certain players and you can't create a player with them. But who knows we will see.

You done good EA.

Looks great. The jersey looks better this year and I'm glad they have added tats. Now I'm just wondering if we will be able to give created players tattoos or will they only be for some people. Also will the game really look like this once it is released since we have been fooled before. Can't wait for next week when hopefully we will get to see some gameplay.

This was actually #1 on the operationsports forum Wishlist.

"1. Completely redo the player models - The player models I think really hurt this being having a true next gen feel. The look extremely dated in comparison. No tattoos for players like Colin Kaepernick really hurts in the new next-gen era. When you compare how NBA 2K14 looks to this it really shows a redesign is needed. Also, a player like Aaron Rodgers shouldn't have the same body type as Big Ben. Yes they are both quarterbacks but their body types are completely different. And since you're redoing everything, it is high past time for the dead eyes of all their player models to go away. Ask the FIFA team for help since their models look great but EA needs to be shooting for something like what we got with NBA 2K14. When I'm playing with Kaepernick, I should be able to tell he's Kaepernick."

Well it looks like that was done!

Let's wait until we see GAMEPLAY. Yeah it looks nice, but how does it play?

Yea I remember. I haven't bought Madden since Madden 2011 but I can still remember.

Look, I get the whole lets wait till we see how it plays. But this is a thread for the screenshot and graphics. Lets keep the subject on that and not get off on a gameplay tangent.

Just as far as aesthetics, look at the detail in how the shoulder flap of the shoulder pad is visible through the jersey. The flap jacket looks more detailed than usual as well. However, if this is the equipment as far as gloves and cleats, they are still way behind. Imagine if 2k still had the same basketball shoes as they did in 2k10. This is practically what Madden is puling off if they don't update these cleats and gloves. Gotta get the detail like that if they absolutely want to nail player authenticity.
