That being said, it sounds like there's a lot of, "This is good, but..." which sucks because I was really hype for this game.

Most of your posts make we want to play EA MMA.

Shiz,

Its not that bad. Its missing stuff just like EA MMA was. EA MMA has no knees from side control and had an even more limited ground game. I was just playing EA MMA on Sunday and if you gave me a choice I'm playing EA UFC every time.

I still have UFC 3 also and I cant see myself going back to that either.

You also made a great point about demos. EA MMA's demo was horrible and it was nothing like the full game. The UFC demo is a stripped down version of the game. The only question is whether the AI is part of that stripped down part. We know the presentation has been stripped down.

Got in a few fights this morning, playing as Jones.

+ Love the graphics and movement. The action is a bit frenetic to watch, but it's fun when you actually play.

+ Control scheme is solid. Thank god they went with face buttons for strikes.

+ Ground game is good so far. I like the way they begin the transition with the first motion of the stick and then complete it with the second.

- Gustafsson has some slams that he just shouldn't have. I swear to god he suplexed me. He was one step away from doing a spinning piledriver.

- I know this is easy mode, but the AI has me worried. Seeing Gustafsson go for takedowns against Jones just feels wrong.

+ This is one game that works really well with the built-in highlight capabilities of next gen systems. Even in this thread, we're already seeing highlight reels and the demo just came out.

I'm ready for the PS4 demo to drop, because I plan on getting it for that system.

Game seemed a lot harder than the others were.

That Gustaffson suplex pisses me off. No way he should have that move in is move set.

FYI, Gustaffson does go for takedowns in his fights. In fact, he is the only UFC fighter to successfully take Jon Jones down.

From the short time I played demo I thought it would've been better.. I'll try the PS4 version later to see ifs opinion will stay the same..

I doubt those are Gustaffson moveset. Because you can do Anthony Pettis kick off the cage with Gustaffson. Thinking they gave them generic movesets, with new some new kicks thrown in.

Wow the videos have really turned me off where I might even pass on it entirely. The computer lack of a pace really turns me off. This is the main reason I was turned off my facing the CPU in UFC 3 so if that element remains then I know I'll pass.

Having the CPU constantly push forward throwing nonstop is truly a game breaker for me.

On the PS4 and after 5 fights and 3 times retrying the tutorial:

-Graphics are insane! Cannot stress this enough. You know those other next gen games you thought looked good? Yeah well this one looks real.

-Transitions are a little blocky, feel a little stop animation at certain times.

-I find the submission a little hard to "relate" to. "The Shine" from previous UFC games had more correlation
to an actual submission. You felt that you were really overpowering your opponent. This one feels more like a separate mini-game of just guessing and pushing buttons to match the guesses.

-Disappointed that this is more way arcadey than all previous UFC and EA MMA. Thew like 8 kicks to the head to Jones and dude's still standing up. There are instances where it feels more of an MMA title (clinches, ground and pounding etc..) but the stand up is basically a beat em up (based on the demo).

7/10, still buying it.

Has anyone noticed every single time you stand back up from both fighters being on the ground the cpu always takes a wild hay maker swing?

Has happened every time just like people always did online on past games. Makes for a easy counter every time

No one mentioned how good the UFC girls look? Lol

Jones tried it and I countered him for the KO.

Here are my takeaways from the game. I played a little bit this morning before work.....

-The graphics and presentation look incredible. Like over the top amazing.
-The blood looks great
-I had a hard time with the controls at first like submissions and ground game but over time, I think they will be very easy to pick up on and get used to. Just practice.
-I absolutely hate the takedown and knockout animations. I got taken down by Jon Jones about 5 times by the backdrop and another 5 by the pick up and drop. You rarely see those takedowns in the UFC so I wish they would have chosen some other, more standard takedowns. As I said, also not a fan of the knockout animations. There is one or two that are okay but I hate the one where you get hit and then stagger for 5-7 seconds and then drop and you are out.
-It takes a sh*t load of damage to knock someone out (or atleast in my experience). I hit JJ with about 4 or 5 clean, solid, flush headkicks in the 1st round yet it seemed as if he was totally fine.
-The CPU was waaaaay too aggressive. It was as if I was playing someone on the other end and they were just mashing the buttons. In the full game, you can tweak the settings so hopefully this will help with that.
-All in all, I loved the demo. Aside from some quirky and off looking animations, I think the game played well and I can't wait to get the full roster and the other features of the game.

The sways people are talking about are the kind you see in Fight Night where the fighter uses only his upper body to avoid a punch.
Actually there was, you could sway with just your upperbody in ea mma, its just no one ever realy used it because you would get murdered by body hook spam. But they were in EA MMA. Just ineffective due to over powered speed and effectivenessof body punches.

Just got my 1st win in 6 tries. Took Gus down and pounded him out.

Sure there are some things that could be improved on but game seems fun and enjoying the demo quite a bit. More than I can say for Watch Dogs....still getting the NAT connection errors. Just about done with that game. smh

The over agression from the cpu is a bit of a turn off. But it does make them easier to counter. Maybe on higher difficulties, they will counter more.

Side control is going to be a super dominant position, it seems you can only escape 1 way, so it will be very easy to hold someone in side control.

Submissions seem easier to pull of from more dominant positions. I finished the inverted triangle from side control a few times, but failed to finish the triangle from guard, or the kimura from half guard. It definitely took longer to get prompts to advance in those positions.

Early counter do appear to be in. A lot of the times I rocked or KO'd a guy it seems I landed an uppercut or an overhand as they were trying to connect.

The game all hangs on one fighter for me.....Machida.

When I get the game, he is the first fighter I will fight. If he is stepping forward constantly and aggressive I will flame Hayes and his team on every forum and social media site I can access.

The one thing that keeps me calm is the Foxsports.com report where the author while playing the full game stated that he had a hard time hitting Aldo with Mendes because of Aldo's movement. I'm hoping that the demo is tuned agreessive because thats what casual fans like.

One thing I'm seeing is that people who say "I'm not a big MMA fan" love the demo. People who are big MMA fans have issues with it.

Sure seems way easier to win with Jones or at least for me it does

I can't watch this with out being turned off completely. If the CPU portion plays like this then I will save my money. It will not be enjoyable to have every fight against the CPU be this spam fest.

Online I can't speak for but the way this looks is BAD to me
