MLB 14 The Show Available As Day 1 Digital Download Available to Download Now (PS4)

MLB 14 The Show will be available as a Day 1 digital download at 12:01 AM EST on May 6th. (SEE UPDATES BELOW) Similar to how users were able to download the PS3 version, expect it to be available at that time, give or take a few minutes.

It doesn't appear as though you will be able to pre-download, as some hoped with the latest PlayStation update. VG24/7 noted Watch Dogs will be the first game available for pre-download, releasing on May 27th.

UPDATE: As of 10:30 AM EST, the game is still not available to download.

UPDATE #2: Due to unforeseen technical issues, MLB 14 The Show for PS4 is not currently available for download via the PlayStation Store. All parties are working as quickly as possible to remedy the issue. We�ll update this post as soon as a resolution is reached. Thank you for your continued patience.

UPDATE #3: Based off of the many responses, the download should be available for everyone now.

You're forgetting the biggest reason to go digital which is to not have to swap discs to play. This is especially useful if you're going to be using the Vita Remote Play feature.

Well, with the longer wait and later hours maybe fewer people will be downloading it as soon as it goes up, theoretically freeing up the servers a bit more. Grasping at a silver lining, I know.

Why are we arguing about this? He wants digital and he has his reasons. Why is that an issue? My word. This place turns into the Planet of the Apes when something doesn't go according to plan. Everyone loses the politeness and its a free for all of petty insults and questioning everything.

Maybe initially, until the physical copy installs fully. At the end of the day, both end up being fully installed anyways.

I'm obviously disappointed, but more or less expected a hiccup in the process. The problem now is that I'm afraid to go to sleep without knowing the download has actually started. I don't have a ton of faith in the process at this point.

I'm afraid of this also. I haven't had any problems yet with DLing games on the PS4, but with the PS3, I had problems both DLing and with the Install. Matter of fact, with The Show '13, I had to download it 4 separate times. 3 on opening night due to different issues, and the 4th after the first patch install went bad, and it corrupted the whole game DL. Talk about frustrating.

My PS4 didnt get the message that its supposed to be fairly quite. I will be getting a replacement in a few months.

The working theory is that it was supposed to be ready, but someone screwed up somewhere down the line, and we continue to patiently wait.

I was going to download (presumably at 9:01 PST), but now I'll just head out to Walmart in another 30 min and pick it up there. I feel for all you east coasters who waited this long.

Point is good chance to download before following night. I don't have a problem with digital it works for me..and I don't trade in games.
