MLB 14 The Show News Post

The Opening Day version of the MLB 14 The Show Operation Sports Full Minors is ready for release.

As in past years... A LOT of work has gone into creating these rosters by many, many contributors.

I would like to thank each and every one of them IMMENSELY!
Without them all, this task would unlikely come to fruition.
It's a labor of love for all of these guys and I would like to ask anyone that comments in this thread to please be civil (unless you are heaping on praise...then go full bore! )

I'm sure there will be disagreements on player choice, potential and any number of ratings. That's fine and all will be taken into account, but don't degrade the thread with posts that are unbecoming.

I for the most part stay with the editors spirit of how they see their players. There were changes for balance. For the most part, I left potentials unless I felt they were too far out of bounds.

There are roughly 1500 user created players in this set.
All minor league players are edited to be a real player, with all faces done.

The set is mirroring Opening Day as best as possible in lineups and rotations at all levels. There were some cases where a total AAA or AA could not be met, as prospects took precedence.

I don't want to mention any editors in particular, but RidinDwnKingsley must receive a big mention here. The guy is just tremendous in his efforts to get this set out. Big kudos here.
There were many... Visit the chart
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...rive_web#gid=0 to see everyone involved. A lot of guys went above and beyond...

Also note that Willard76, a major contributor is going to take the O.D. set and edit a ton of things (including SCEA players, which are all "stock" on this set) for his release of the Hybrid set (here is the thread, I encourage you to check it out.)

I hope I didn't leave anything out.....

Yeah it seam like everybody had a diffrent way of rating their assign team potential this year.I taught everybody was following knight rating scale chart maybe im wrong.Any way the roster look great.

So why was the Pirates top catching prospect Reese McGuire completely left of the roster? He's a top ten prospect for the team and in nearly everyones top one hundred for the league. Were you guys afraid of having too many highly rated prospects for the Pirates?

I'm sure someone has a cap for him.

Is the "black face" going to be an issue on the PS4? I've had the PS4 since release but have rarely played it due to NBA 2k having so many issues and not really enjoying Madden CFM. I have the PS4 version of the show paid for at GameStop, but if it's going to have its issues like 2k, I'm thinking about just trading the PS4 back in for the PS3 and getting that version of the show and all other sports games for this year. Any and all advice regarding this situation is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Ian Clarkin on the Yankees is a 70 potential.

I agree. Not only do they have top flight prospects but they have a deep system, position players as well as pitchers.

# 110 Denzel Washington @ 05/04/14 05:53 PM
Kinda bummed erling moreno didnt make it on the roster
Seems strange to see Jokisch on the team but not moreno

Yeah I am not a fan of those rankings. I like Polanco, Taillon and Glasgow but I think its a crap shoot after those 2.

It was based more on the depth.. but I'm also higher on Meadows and McGuire than some

I havent looked at the roster yet, but I know its great as always. So I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who worked on this project. Its truely amazing how you all worked together each year on this, and how well done they are each year

Why is buxton not the top rated prospect and why is sano so low? He's only a 67ovr with power in the 60's when he's the best power hitter prospect.

So pumped! Thanks for all the hard work.

Regarding the Hybrid set of rosters by Willard. Do most people wait on the Hybrid set our do they just start playing with Knights OSFM 2014 OD??

Can you start an RTTS with Knights roster and then import the Hybrid set in the same RTTS?

Just trying to figure what the BIG differences our in Knights Rosters and Willard Hybrid set.

Buxton has 99 potential and Sano is only 20 years old.

Astros SP Colin McHugh has the blacked out face. Is there any fix for this?

Still buxton should be the highest rated prospect because he is IRL and sano is way better than a 67ovr.
