MLB 14 The Show News Post

The Opening Day version of the MLB 14 The Show Operation Sports Full Minors is ready for release.

As in past years... A LOT of work has gone into creating these rosters by many, many contributors.

I would like to thank each and every one of them IMMENSELY!
Without them all, this task would unlikely come to fruition.
It's a labor of love for all of these guys and I would like to ask anyone that comments in this thread to please be civil (unless you are heaping on praise...then go full bore! )

I'm sure there will be disagreements on player choice, potential and any number of ratings. That's fine and all will be taken into account, but don't degrade the thread with posts that are unbecoming.

I for the most part stay with the editors spirit of how they see their players. There were changes for balance. For the most part, I left potentials unless I felt they were too far out of bounds.

There are roughly 1500 user created players in this set.
All minor league players are edited to be a real player, with all faces done.

The set is mirroring Opening Day as best as possible in lineups and rotations at all levels. There were some cases where a total AAA or AA could not be met, as prospects took precedence.

I don't want to mention any editors in particular, but RidinDwnKingsley must receive a big mention here. The guy is just tremendous in his efforts to get this set out. Big kudos here.
There were many... Visit the chart
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...rive_web#gid=0 to see everyone involved. A lot of guys went above and beyond...

Also note that Willard76, a major contributor is going to take the O.D. set and edit a ton of things (including SCEA players, which are all "stock" on this set) for his release of the Hybrid set (here is the thread, I encourage you to check it out.)

I hope I didn't leave anything out.....

Thanks to Knight and everyone who was involved!!

Rosters look great guys. Sad to see that one of the Indians top prospects in Francisco Mejia didn't make the final cut, but whoever finished my roster up from my initial submission really did a great job.

Ike Davis needs to be on Pirates Roster, still on Mets

# 26 Metsfan31 @ 05/04/14 03:44 PM
Not sure if this is a problem but when I view Brandon Nimmo NYM, the background is a yellow color instead of a light blue. Is that a problem?

This is a Opening Day roster not current. As Knight said before, there will be a updated and current roster in the near future.

Because it is supposed to be Opening Day, why is Chris Leroux on the Yankees? He didn't sign till last weekish.

BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox announce today the 2014 Opening Day Roster. The roster features 14 players who spent time in Bowie last season and some of the top prospects in the Orioles organization. Eduardo Rodriguez, Tim Berry and Michael Ohlman are all rated among the Orioles top 10 prospects and all begin the year in Bowie.

The starting rotation is expected to include LHP Eduardo Rodriguez, RHP Tyler Wilson, LHP Tim Berry, RHP Zach Davies and LHP Jake Pettit. Three of the five pitchers appeared with the Baysox in 2013.

Returning position players include Buck Britton, Niuman Romero, Garabez Rosa, Christian Walker, Dariel Alvarez and Johnny Ruettiger. Bowie’s bullpen also features a number of familiar faces, as RHP Matt Bischoff, RHP Oliver Drake, LHP Jason Gurka, LHP Chris Petrini and RHP Marcel Prado return to the Baysox.

The roster includes seven players who were not in the Orioles organization last season and signed during the offseason as free agents or arrived through trades. Those players include RHP Fabio Castillo, RHP Juan Morillo, C David Freitas, INF Sharlon Schoop, OF Ronald Bermudez, OF Chih-Hsien Chiang and OF K.D. Kang.

The Norfolk Tides and their parent club, the Baltimore Orioles, have announced the Tides Opening Day roster for the 2014 season. The roster features 12 pitchers and 13 position players, and the team will once again be managed by Ron Johnson. Joining Johnson are Pitching Coach Mike Griffin, Hitting Coach Denny Walling, Field Coach Jose Hernandez, Athletic Trainer Mark Shires and Strength and Conditioning Coach Trevor Howell.

Norfolk's pitching staff will consist of starters Kevin Gausman (slated to take the mound in tonight's opener vs. Charlotte), Steve Johnson, T.J. McFarland, Mike Wright and Suk-Min Yoon. Norfolk's relievers include Nick Additon, Tim Alderson, Brad Brach, Kelvin De La Cruz, Eddie Gamboa, Brock Huntzinger and Chris Jones.

The Tides Opening Day roster features seven infielders: David Adams, Alexi Casilla, Ivan De Jesus, Chris Marrero, Cord Phelps, Brett Wallace and Jemile Weeks. Manning the outfield for Norfolk will be Quintin Berry, Julio Borbon, Xavier Paul and Henry Urrutia. The Tides will open the season with two catchers: Caleb Joseph and Johnny Monell.

Three players will open the season on the Tides disabled list: Pitchers Johan Santana and Luis Ayala and catcher Zach Booker. Santana and Ayala are not currently with the team.
