NBA Live 15 News Post

As most of you are aware, the NBA Live team has been getting together with many of the NBA teams during the season and capturing their faces for NBA Live 15.

Marc D'Amico unveils the process the Celtics went through to become real-life characters for NBA Live 15. Check out the video clip that actually has a few facial scans that you will see in the game. We've captured some of them here, but make sure you watch the video to see the technology behind it.

A big thanks to @CelticBoyHooks!!

That can't be true can it? What could they possibly say to the game developers that would affect the game in that way? "Your animations are too smooth! We can't allow that. Please tune them down." Lol I'm being funny but seriously....please explain, I might be missing something.

The only restrictions I've ever heard about the NFL including in their games is tattoos on the players. I don't know what all these other game altering restrictions are. The most restriction I've ever heard about an NBA game is not having technical fouls because they think it'd make their players look bad. A stance they've obviously relaxed on in recent years since you can be hit with a technical foul in game.

Here's a list of the features removed by the NFL from Madden. As you said though, it has nothing to do with the lack of quality animations and smart AI.

Thank you sir for this! As I suspected those are moves that, as a company, I understand they had to make or was in their best interest. None of that justifies the path that Live chose. They can do better...I think we can all agree on that.

I want both games to be great and give us their best effort, but EA really has to bring it with Live 15. I have been looking at the feedback and reaction from this new info and most of the community still does not trust them. I hope the cautious feedback from the community lights a fire in them to give us the Live that we have deserved since Elite 11.

I just need EA to make a game as good as their NHL for Basketball

Live could have flawless graphics and it wouldn't matter because they are YEARS behind in gameplay

We all pretty much know the core problems this game needs to improve on. The other problem is how they market or present the game to the community in the beginning stages. I think they need to build the anticipation early for Live 15, so that the game has a chance at selling productively . I checked VG chartz today and the current total sells for Live 14 globally is 170,000 copies. This game is not even going to crack 200,000 copies sold with the NBA games now being in post season, which is not good with the season being over soon altogether. They need to show a sample or sneak peek of Live 15 during this years NBA finals. Last they need to reveal the game at this year's E3 with positive and solid feedback from the people who will frequent that event. I believe those are building blocks that can help the game sell well, but the game has to be solid and receive good impressions early on.

Nba Live is a fringe bball game, and it shows.

Looks nice and I hope live will be more about basketball and not about microtransaction trash like what the other game is about right now...

Your correct but the harsh criticism from pretty much everyone will force them to change that or scrap the game for good. They cannot afford to have this game continue this disappointing cycle.

Live needs to just produce a decent game with a stable environment to play in.

2K's servers have become a serious hiccup. Even if the game inferior, if you know you can turn on your console and actually play it online, it could start to gain some customers and build from there.

I don't have much faith in Live actually getting it right, they haven't in years.....but it would be great for Basketball gamers as a whole....simply because 2K needs a fire lit under there asses

Remember this...Live needs to show something this year.

how working on the gameplay (look at Live 2000 PC) and player animations first EA...smh

Now is the time for EA to put a great basketball title. I think many people have seen through the smoke and mirrors that 2k has been producing for the past couple of years and are ready for a fun basketball experience where the user has CONTROL. If EA was smart, they would be looking at past 2k iterations, pin-pointing certain elements that made the game successful and implementing them into their franchise.

They give us the true crew from 2k10/2k11 gamers will swarm. Myself is someone that will not play or purchase a game until this is back. I have skipped the past 3 years because of this and will pass until the game is more then a after school dance party at the park.

[quote=siznit;2046204219]So after todays events in the real life NBA with KD winning the League MVP. 2k announced right off the bat on the same day that he will also be on the cover of 2k15. Now what strangely has come to my mind tonight is very unlikely but anything is possible in the media nowadays.

Once all is said and done after the 2013-2014 NBA season, the ex 2K cover athlete LeBron James can opt out of his contract with the Heat. Each NBA season ends in June then starts the offseason in that same month if I'm correct? Well lets just say if and only "if" LeBron does shock the league and all of its followers by announcing his return back to his draft team immediately after the season. Then would it be possible for EA Sports to bring THE FIRST BACK TO BACK TEAMMATE COVER ATHLETE (Kyrie Irving on Live 14) and (LeBron on Live 15) IN THE HISTORY OF SPORTS VIDEO GAMES ON THAT SAME DAY FOR HIM??

Now the only reason why I'm hypothisizing and making this outrageous theory is because last years NBA Live 14 cover was announced on July 23rd as Cleveland Cavalier, Kyrie Irving who is clearly still on the Cavs today. But 2k's was reveled June 6th pretty much after the Heat won The Finals last year. Then now that KD is that seasons real life MVP and the "same day" cover athlete. That strangley leads me to believe something is brewing up behind the scenes greater than we think!

As a loyal long time Cleveland sports fan I do believe "The Greatest Athlete in The World"(LBJ)could basketball more smoothly if he can truly pull his major marketing strings between the two game developers by just simply becoming a free agent, sign another contract, wear another Cavs uniform (#6) on the Cover of NBA Live 15!!!

If this is becomes real life to not be extremely ledgendary and courageous by not only sports monopoly SO PLEASE ULTIMATE

Lebron being on the cover is not going to happen by any stretch. Live has already revealed the players they are going to have as cover guys for their future releases. That screenshot of Damian Lillard, Victor Oladipo, John Wall, Ricky Rubio, and Kyrie Irving that had the statement "Nothing But Next" showed us all who are going to be used. I expect either John Wall or Damian Lillard to be Live 15's cover guy because of their playoff exposure this season.

His suggestion also wouldn't be the first time in history teammates did back to back covers. Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews of the NHL series share that distinction I believe.
