NBA Live 15 News Post

As most of you are aware, the NBA Live team has been getting together with many of the NBA teams during the season and capturing their faces for NBA Live 15.

Marc D'Amico unveils the process the Celtics went through to become real-life characters for NBA Live 15. Check out the video clip that actually has a few facial scans that you will see in the game. We've captured some of them here, but make sure you watch the video to see the technology behind it.

A big thanks to @CelticBoyHooks!!

I just want an authentic NBA game or at least as close we can be ! NBA 2k14 in my opinion is complete trash ! Guys blocking shots who aren't shot blockers in real life, unbelievable amount of tipped and intercepted passes, reach in's are hardly called and there's too many reach in's that result in the ball being knocked loose.

The blocking fouls in the paint are a joke at best !

Forget about showing a players face, they need to show animation progress. That is where their games have suffered. If you can show some sort of smooth fluid animations then you will start to gain some interest from me.

I would hold on to your interest a lot longer; as we were shown fluid animations in the Kyrie Irving trailers last year, and look what we actually got!
Yes, the face scanning looks great; but if we don't see some actually game play of LIVE 15 by gamescon this year; I would bury the hatch in LIVE 15; as I feel they would try and pull the wool over my eyes "again!"
This time, they have no excuses! And No! Apologies!
cheers

I hope they finally get it right with Live 15 later in the year. Live 14's iteration was not a good way to bring this title back on next gen consoles. I want them to continue feeling pressure from the community so they deliver once and for all. They need to do anything they can to possibly make this title a seller once again .

Is this what NBA Live 15 will look like pic.twitter.com/4fW1DZp0Wo ? The level of detail is amazing!!

It is the greatest basketball simulation we've ever seen in our life time. Compare it to this year's version of live and its not even close. People talk about how 2k dropped the ball this year when ea had 4 years to make a decent game and they came out with a pile of dookie that smells so bad you could smell it a mile away. What happened to player updates every hour? What hastened with the bounce tek? What about the terrible player models and the complete absence of ball movement? You can literally hold turbo and run straight Thu the basket and score every time.

2k14 has some serious issues. Mainly their online servers and a lot of copy and paste gameplay from ps3.

Anyone who purchased live this year will tell you they got hustled out of hard earned cash and you think that's going to change in one year after they bowed out the last 4?
Seriously delusional people itt.
I totally agree with you...NBA 2k14 is a GREAT game especially with the right sliders.. there attention to detail the sport of basketball is crazy and I actually TRUST this company to fix whatever issues it had this year. With 2k starting over gave us gamers a standard to what these next gen sports games can be like. The devs on 2k used almost all the disc capacity for the game while madden and nba live use not even 1/4th of the capacity. Let be honest, those faces look wonderful but that means that live has to be do a complete turn around, graphic, gameplay, animation, etc and live is not even EA number one game....What i honestly get from these pics is that madden really, really DOINT have an excuse for next year!!!

This looks cool. I'm glad to see Live back even though last years game wasn't that great. Hopefully they can do better this year as the next-gen version of 2k has sickened me with all the VC and no CPU vs CPU in MYGM mode.

Hmm. What to say here. I guess EA has to show how much they're trying to improve the Live product, just like any other gaming company to show off tech for a new game. It just becomes a tough thing for me with EA nowadays after trying to support and defend certain aspects not just cuz it's EA but because I understand what game devs are up against with the powers that be in their companies. Some companies 'get it' and let devs do what they gotta to put out top notch products...but then u have a company like EA who's brass seem to have these twisted ideas about what should be a top notch sports game product.

That being said, whatever to the scanning. NBA2K14 looks phenomenal with most of the player scans they used PLUS the bottom line gameplay is top notch. Not impressed with this because of the shadiness EA continues to pull with their marketing and hype then failing to deliver. Gotta see the final product with this game before I can really judge.

It's a continuous cycle, my man.

We seen how quick people gave up on Live(or really Live gave up on the people)once that initial 2 month new-ness phase wore off.

They're going in the right direction but they shouldn't be bragging on face scanning. This is something that 2K has been doing since last gen. EA should've been doing this years ago no matter what game it was. They need to show what gameplay adjustments they're making. I hope it ends up good though cause I like diversity and choice and this year their was only one choice to me....2k14. With that said, don't think 2K ain't gonna hit us with a game changer in the next couple of months. Their game is already their and just needs fine tuning like taking some of the animations out that cause issues and tweaking their modes. ANYTHING else they do will just be adding icing to a a cake that already had icing added to it!

I don't care if the game is bad/good I just want a PC version of this. EA needs to bring their sports titles to that POS Origin.

Im excited for the graphics I think they will be close to 2k this time.

One think I like about live gameplay is that I felt like I had more control over my players in previous years (ps2, xbox, )

After Live 14, I am not tursting EA anymore.

Doesn't Nate Wolters still have black skin in that game? "Live updates" my ***.

Im talking specifically about animations within the fullcourt amongst other players. They do not even have to show the actual human flesh of what the players look like to gauge early on, but the movement of models within gameplay. Not the trailer form, or individual demo videos.

The ea smoke and mirrors individual animation previews, trailers etc.. i always take those as just marketing ploys. The history has proven them to always be suspect.

I look forward to a real battle in this space. If Live can come up with something really, really good, I will give it a chance first and then decide whether I buy the other game.

No they have a an auto motion setting that's off by default. For those talking animations, just stick to 2k because the animations will never be right without pre-determined two man animations (Mike Wang magic)
Your posts are kind of reckless man! EA has more to prove then the other company. They need to gain trust back from the community again by coming out with a basketball game that is worthy of a 60 dollar purchase. I almost always root for the underdog, but they have to give an effort for me to root for them. Lets see if they finally give us that effort with Live 15. Until then everyone will be careful with the early info they put out to not be tricked again.
