Molina is better and I'm not even a Cardinals fan to see that.

Very impressed with these OVR. I LOVE that the 90s are now for the elite talents and if your at 99 you are a rare breed...

BUT Jose Fernandez is too high, better than Wainwright, Verlander and Felix? The kids pitched for one year, hes great but come on now...

Yes. SCEA does ratings based on the last 3 years of service.
They only have 2 & 1/2 yrs on Posey. Im betting if he had a full 2011 he'd be #1.
But IDS a prob with him at #2.

Capt Obvious moment: I think people take these ratings a bit too seriously....

With how the ratings have seemed to change, lower overall it looks like, I wonder if sim stats have been altered as well as they relate to player ratings. The players seem to actually have some space between them this time.

Braun is 85 overall and there is a new roster download available (from 3/24)

A lot of these will adjust once the season starts. Very promising IMO. It looks like a players skill is based far more on overall talent than just having a 99. I guess the system they built for RTTS translated into the overall game.

Very excited.

LOL at people hating Yankees players on their spots respectively Haha....typical.

Alex is just right where he is at. If you take suspension and injury off and go by his numbers in the last 3 years, you'll still have a very solid player and better 3rd baseman than most 3rd baseman in baseball. Alltime greats tend to do this.

Posey can't even come close to that Molina factor. Molina is like a manager.. pitching coach and one of the best defensive catchers I ever seen... not just in baseball now.
well.....Posey did come right in as a rookie and literally changed the Giants organization completely and molded that rotation so u cant say he cant do that either. Giants have won 2 WS in Posey's 4 years and hadn't done anything since Bonds and Kent were around. I'm pretty sure there hasn't been one player that has had the impact on a club more than Posey BUT (as a Giants fan) I will say Molina is the #1 Catcher but I think most can agree that they r 1A and 1B. Would u really complain if u had either? Let's also note that Posey is 26 years old while Molina is 31.

Now as a Giants fan I would NEVER in a million year trade Posey for Molina but I am also a realistic fan of baseball and know when a player is better then the next. Molina has been in for 10 years while Posey has technically been in for 4 but his sophomore season doesn't really count thanks to Cousins.

Molina - 10 years - 2 World Series Titles
Posey - 4 years - 2 World Series Titles

Yeah I think both ARod and Beltran belong in the top 10, (though maybe not number 1 for Beltran). The confusing one for me is Texiera who had steadily declined in most statistically relevant categories for the three years before his last two injury riddled ones. Most projection systems have him at 1 and a half WAR or so with low OBP and mediocre power numbers at best. I feel like he shouldn't be in the top 10.

Loving the gaps between the merely good players and the elite.

And the faux outrage from people that their favourite teams players are rated too low?

Always brilliantly amusing at this time of year

No chance. All around, Yadi is the best.

As a Yankee fan...Mark Teixeira needs to be at like an 83.

Love the ratings though and the fact that they have your rating and then an adjusted rating based on how you are doing.

I'm glad they only gave Miggy, Trout, and Kershaw 99's...those are the right 3 and no one else, and the fact that being a 90 means you are "elite" because there is a nice gap between the players.

Wonder what Machado is rated? Many baseball people think he is a top 9 3rd basemen.

# 55 TGov @ 03/25/14 03:00 PM
Is the Adjusted Overall part of Franchise as well? Or is it just for RTTS...???

Because that would solve a lot of these disagreement about the Overalls...

I believe Machado had a low 80's rating in the final update last year, that most likely means he's a little less this year. There were a couple things off though like his fielding not being in the 90's, but what is currently holding him back from being near the top is power - it's weighted fairly heavily in The Show for third basemen.

Curious what Donaldson's rating is since he didn't make top 10

Ratings actually look better done this year than they have in the past. this along with pitcher repertoires is where SCEA lacks at, and it looks like they did a good job on ratings, so hopefully the same goes for pitcher repertoires this year. If they get pitcher repertoires right, I guarantee i will break down and buy this game yet
