Same issue as milb and college sports, there is no union with which to negotiate rights and lawsuits are expensive. You can thank the lawyers for that stuff.

I'm more franchise/season guy myself but RTTS is the Show's bread & butter for the casual player. And there are more casual players than hardcore gamers, for better or worse. And FWIW I consider myself a hardliner

I'm not sure you understand how it works.

It's not as simple as adding a roof that opens or closes.

They have to create two versions of each stadium with a retractable roof (I think there are 5 or 6). Building EVERY stadium from scratch this year it's not too much to ask to give them leniency on that this year.

I see the trolls are very hungry again this time of year.

Just wait a month or two.....they will forget about the game they are not going to play and find something else to moan about.

so all the spring training/ minor league BPs are the same as on the PS3 or were some of them redone as well?

in general I dont get why the community didn't pressure SCEA into including 2 versions of MLB BP with retractable roof already long ago? I mean I would much rather have those in the game than classic, spring training or all the minor league parks..

I am not sure what a hardcore gamer means. If a hardcore gamer means someone who knows all the ins and outs of the nitty gritty details of MLB, then I am definitely NOT hardcore (though SCEA's The Show title has definitely helped me learn some of these details). But if hardcore is more like "spends many hours playing the game". Then I guess I am sort of hardcore.

I watched Russell's interview and it was good. It backed up what I already suspected that the MLB14 PS3 version would not offer a lot of new to me on how I play the game. But the MLB14 PS4 + future releases of MLB on the PS4 will offer a lot of eye candy that the PS3 can not provide. I was a little surprised to hear RTTS was the most popular mode. I always thought Franchise play was the most popular. If I had more free time, I too wouldn't mind trying out RTTS. But the way I play the game (MoM in Season Mode where I don't rush my games trying to mirror the real world schedule as close as possible) takes up plenty of what free time I have to play the game.

I would like to see MoM improved to the point where "Hit and Run" actually works, and where sometimes you can actually pick off the base runner at 1st base if they take too much of a lead. Not once in the 220+ MoM games I have played in MLB13 have I ever been able to pick off the base runner, though the CPU has picked my guys off. But since there is little chatter that these issues have been addressed in MLB14, I assume they will remain as is, which is not ideal, but also not a show stopper. I just hope SCEA keeps MoM and keeps the dugout camera view (I know not everyone likes it, but I like it) and keeps the AI defensive adjustments they way they work now after one of the MLB13 patches fixed them in the middle of last season. I know I am in the minority of how I play the game. But I enjoy SCEA's MoM and I would be really disappointed if they were to take it away.

One stadium a week is a LOT of work, SanDiego Studio deserves much commendation.

I doubt the Dev that makes the fans is the same Dev that makes the stadiums.
And the Dev that makes the stadiums is no the same Dev that makes the Players.

I play manage mode which suffered from the same problems for several years until Brian got assigned to the mode and fixed some of the problems so I understand the frustration but with something as big as building a stadium from scratch it takes time.

What I have learned from this forum is some things which I am completely unconcerned about are a major topic for others and although it is frustrating the money those people spend on the game keeps excellent developers like Brian employed and working on mlbts and the mode I play, although not perfect, benefits as a result.

Retractable roofs and design a stadium are on the list for the future. In the meantime enjoy the best video game ever made.

And I think its about that time of year for the BAN hammer to come out. Usually it doesn't come out until the game releases but I think an early showing would be appropriate this year.

You have 8 people here trying to explain it to you, including one Moderator, yet for some reason, with your extensive programming knowledge, you seem to know better than everyone else and your way is the right way and the only way.

Just because its your opinion that it could be done better or faster, doesnt make it so.

I'm not a fan of some of these posts, but personally I think some unpopular opinions are being jumped all over for no reason.

I may not and do not agree with almost all the opinions of the people feeling let down right now (I'm loving what I'm seeing, by the way), but it's distressing to see some of these newcomers get jumped all over by some OS vets because someone is let down with a feature not getting in, or a screenshot not being what they'd expected, etc.

There are some trolls here, sure. But some posters are getting jumped all over for being underwhelmed and that sort of undermines the spirit of OS, if you ask me.
