MLB 14 The Show Video Interview with Ramone Russell

FranchisePlaySports has posted their MLB 14 The Show video interview with community manager, Ramone Russell. Plenty of good information was touched on with some bullet points below. Make sure you listen to the full interview here, hosted by Brian Mazique.

You can create the same amount of players as last year
You can still edit players to the same extent as last year
Create a Ballpark is coming, but not this year
Quick count info (Make sure you pay attention!)
Talks about some of the new animations (some are specific to PS4, like slap swings, Japan league style swings - A couple hundred fielding animations)
All injury presentations are brand new
6 team minimum but only one human player needed in online franchise (clarified by Ramone in comments)
On PS4, you will see more closeups of the fans, signs they are holding

Create-a-team functionally already exists in a sense... in Diamond Dynasty. So it is no longer far-fetched to think that the devs are seriously considering adding that to other modes.

if they didn't port them over or rebuild them from scratch does that mean they're not going to be in at all? That seems odd to have a RTTS mode without minor league stadiums if that's the way it is.

LOL They are in man I'm pretty sure they were built from scratch considering they weren't ported over.

I've only heard about the 30 MLB stadiums being built from scratch and nothing about the minor league or classic stadiums. I just figured if they rebuilt those too then they would have mentioned that.

I'll be honest I know create a stadium has been requested by so many people here over the years but I never honestly thought Sony would actually do it any time soon. So hearing Russell say it's in the works is shocking to me. WoW just think of the possibles

Also did anyone hear Russell say they can do 1,000 different crowd models on PS4 but for MLB 14 The Show they are only using a couple hundred

wow I thought the crowd already looked great going by the new screenshots so it's only going to get much better from here.

In the very first teaser trailer Ramone himself said that on PS4 they could do 1,000 different models. Was actually expecting that to happen this year based on that.

The crowd does add a lot to the game, especially if you use broadcast mode. I hope though that it isn't just a random assortment and that it can tell if the same crowd model is nearby. The moment where you saw two identical models animating the same three rows from eachother is what always broke the illusion on PS3. Hopefully that never happens again on PS4.

Couple of hundred is better than 42.

Yeah but its this kind of stuff that delays the PS4 even more.

You have people complaining left and right that the game isnt released until May, then they turn around expecting more than what is being given.
They cant have it both ways.

SCEA has to find a happy medium and they surely wont please everyone.

Sounds nice in theory but execution is tough, 2K has gotten some of it right and a lot of it wrong. I can't even tell you how many times I cringed at the post game press conference answers. And the whole dramatic storyline from this year seemed a little overdone and contrived.

They DO need to find some way to make the salary worth something. What's my motivation to sign a $150m contract in RTTS? It only stops my team from being able to sign other important guys, and benefits me in exactly 0 ways.

we need online team play for baseball..... cpu controlled pitchers and pitcher replacements if that cpu is getting shelled!!!! if there is teamplay for nhl nba n madden no excuse to not have a baseball one... random generated batting orders and it would be great whether its yur created guy which could be multiple considerin what pos u get or even the real players it could be fun!!!!! If someone makes it they will come!!!!!!
