After only playing one 12 min quarter (me Nets vs cpu Knicks) I like the pace of the game. Very deliberate slowed down pace. The cpu plays the same type of game, but I did get a chance to get out and run (the cpu will too) on occasion.

Graphics aren't bad, but not good either. Reminds me of Live 10 which isn't a bad thing, but with the power of these consoles they have A LOT of room for improvement.

I turned up all the fouls because watching the streams I didn't see a lot of fouls called. There were a fair share of fouls called once I did that, both myself and cpu were in the bonus with 4 min left in the quarter.

I really like the way the cpu was playing me with Melo. The iso'd and cleared out the side almost every trip down. They threw it in the post twice from what I remember. Shump and Felton both were trying to break me down and get in the paint.

I had to come back to work so I don't have anything else right now, but Live isn't a great game, but it's not a bad game by any stretch. EA needs to work on animations and graphics. Seems like it's missing some animations that would help smooth out things like jumping and blocking. Really anything off the vert needs work.

I'll play more when I get home and see what's what.

The control is very sluggish and that's making it not very much fun to play. The animations need some serious work. The graphics are passable, but definitely don't scream out next gen. I wouldn't pay $60 for this.

I really like that they were running iso for Melo all the time. If the teams play true to their real life counterparts both offensively and defensively, it could be a game worth playing despite its shortfalls.

The really have a foundation to build on, they had it with Live 10 too, but we know how that ended.

We'll see where the series goes from here. Could be really good, but could be fatal if they try something new next year.

Unless I'm missing something, it looks like there is no auction house in NBA Live's Ultimate Team mode?

It seems like the only way to get new players is by purchasing card packs. I know NHL, FIFA, and Madden all have auction houses, so it is weird that there doesn't seem to be one in Live.

Why is the game slow and sluggish. Doesn't look good either.

I'm guessing that "DNA" isn't up and running for you yet.

From the few games I played, I didn't notice much difference.

Played Nets/Spurs in one of my games and the Tony Parker basically would just try to drive the basket every chance he got while the rest of the team just stood around watching. Now anybody that's watched the Spurs would know that they're a team who's great at ball movement, but in this game I played, I didn't notice much from the CPU.

Oh and I couldn't give two ****s and a dollar about some hourly updates either. This game isn't worth $60(especially if this is being preached as the "Foundation" for the series)and there aren't that many games that are worth $60 either, for that matter.

The CPU does a lot of standing around on offense. It's tough to get any player movement going without calling plays.

Also, when you have the ball in the post, your teammate on the opposite block will do some really weird stuff. A lot of times, he will run over to you for no reason, then turn around and run straight out of bounds.

The passing animations around the basket are painfully slow. By the time you try to pass to an open man, the throw and catch animations have taken so long that the defense has time to recover and block the shot.

Not sure what you mean. I would think that Melo clearing out and ISO'd on the wing or top of the key would be part of it. I only play 1 quarter so who knows what would have happened later in the game.

Part of it? Yes

EVERY trip down though and only throwing it to the post TWICE? Yeahhhhh, I would not be a fan of that, even if it only is 1 quarter. Felton/Shumpart breaking you down to get into the paint? Was this with PnR or Iso as well?

How many mins are you playing, BTW?

# 13 ProfessaPackMan @ 11/19/13 05:34 PM
Oh and for those who play Offline and/or may not have Internet Capabilities on their system, if this game is as reliant on Synergy DNA as Fluent makes it out to be, this game might not be for you.

I can understand that. They iso'd Melo and ran a couple of plays for For Felton and Shump on P&R, they weren't in a iso type play.

I wasn't saying they only ran those plays, but I can only remember where they ran the set with Chandler posting up a couple of times. How many exactly, idk.

I only played 1, 12 minute quarter.

To people who have the game - How do you shoot a floater?

# 16 jyoung @ 11/19/13 05:45 PM
I just tried abusing the hop step/euro step against the computer, and looks like it's just as effective offline as it is online.

All you need to do is tap Triangle anywhere near the lane and it's basically an instantaneous "get an open runner" button.

It doesn't seem to matter what the matchup is, as I was able to do it with clumsy centers and power forwards. And I have yet to see the move lead to a travel, charge or turnover. It's pretty much a fool-proof open shot any time you press triangle.

Gross.

Play more and post more impressions, please. Since I have no PS4, impressions and the odd gameplay footage is all I got, lol.

The game does some things right, like the presentation. Also it's worth noting that EA did manage to secure the rights for Madison Square Garden & TD Garden. Don't know how that works. But a nice little touch nonetheless. My 2 biggest complaints are not having the ability to view a replay via a replay option in the menu & the lack of a shot stick.

I plan on later tonight. I'll see if I can post more. Wanted to try online, but it seems like it's a mess with regards to lag and what not.
