NBA 2K14 News Post

Here's some gameplay video posted by Bug (@Weezyy_F_Baby) of the final moments of some first half gameplay between the Thunder and Bulls -- you also get a peak at the halftime show in NBA 2K14 next gen. At one point, you see Derrick Rose being interviewed as he walks off of the court.

What do you guys think?

But I just wasn't impressed with the gameplay - not the user's gameplay but the overall 'not mindblowing' gameplay. I expected to see so much more but from that sample it looked like current gen with updated graphics. I'm sure I'll get the 'you have to play it to feel the difference' response but it doesn't look much different from just that standpoint.
It definitely has some similarities, it is still 2K after all. But those jumpshots....those are for real. Such a big improvement.

Yea it's the same as 2k current gen with better foot planting there was one part where Derrick rose was running and he's feet were pointing outwards... It's not bad but for people to act like it's a whole new game is ridiculous. Derrick roses arms are too small as well

I'm not impressed because the game looked much, much better in the trailers, starting from the 1st at E3.
I clearly understand that it's trailers job to hype people, but in this case they created too much high expectations that are not met by actual gameplay

You guys are judging a games graphics based off compressed Youtube - Cellphone footage. Please think about that for a second and get a hold of yourselves.

Does this mean that you are capable of editing players post release through roster updates, or is an official patch needed.

This is the same video game you saw at E3, of course the trailer is just gonna be a giant action sequence with a bunch of fast break dunks but it's the same game.

You're looking at gameplay that is recorded with a video camera pointing at the tv, and you're trying to judge the graphics? Come on now, you should know better than that.

I guarantee if you get a copy of the NG game, and get a fast break dunk, press pause and watch a close up replay of Lebron, you'll see the same thing you saw in the E3 trailers.

Was a little turned away by the passiveness of the CPU on the last possession but just realized they were holding it for the last shot of the half.

So, you're judging how the game looks from an off-screen clip uploaded on Youtube and compressed for the internet? Ok....

Just keep ignoring all of the people who have actually played the game and say it looks spectacular and just like the trailers

This game is better than any sports game ever made, so until you find a game that HAD all the stuff you wanted in it, you can't complain about a game coming close year by year. If they put everything into THIS game, what do they have left for next year?

It's Bloods and Crips out here..lol

i like the halftime interviews although both rose and doris burke looked a little stiff. they did a good job with the angle of rose's head while he was listening to her talk. either way nice touch to add to realism.

very disappointed that the halftime show is the same as cg. and the one reply that randomly zoomed in on center court. also didnt like the one pass from rose to boozer that went through boozers chest.

would like to see some direct capture footage from someone who knows how to play basketball to get a real feel for what the game will be like.

just watched it again. looks like 3 second violations are still missing. 1:04-1:09 Noah is in the paint with no offensive player near him and theres no whistle.
This is the same guy that will keep up with a skilled 2k player in an online guy, throwing up bad shots and etc.

It's called pro difficulty lol

True. But the passiveness of the CPU AI when it comes to open lanes has always been a bit of an issue (even on higher difficulties). But for some reason they over-dribble and try to force it inside in 2k14 CG. Hopefully that's been remedied.

Why do you guys all hate that angle so much? If wanting to excel at the game it is absolutely the best angle to play at as you can see the whole floor and better anticipate when your teammates will be open. Also for the dribble stick it is much easier to perform moves accurately as it plays at the natural orientation. I know it does not look like the tv view but hardcore gamers or online competitive gamers will only be using this angle, otherwise your at a disadvantage.

The only thing missing are the baseline cameramen.

Outside of that, I'm happy with what I saw - even this Pro difficulty gameplay.

I personally don't like that camera because I like to feel like I'm watching a real broadcast.

That angle is a constant reminder that I'm playing a video game.

All the cameras that are in Current Gen are in Next Gen. Although I've been working on tweaking the Beluba camera over the past few days. Undecided on whether to patch it into 14 or wait til next year.
