NBA Live 14 News Post

Check out the latest NBA Live 14 blog, which discusses how you need to maintain a rhythm of the dribble, instead of spamming the controls. When getting into a rhythm, it becomes easier to chain from levels 1, 2 and 3.

The blog also discusses defensive controls and introduces the defensive slide feature. You will be able to attempt a dig steal, contest, and take a charge with the right stick. You will play against team specific defenses. So something that might work one night, won't work against a team that defends specific plays better on another night. You can adjust your team or specific individuals on the fly to come over the top of screens or go underneath, force players a certain direction, pressure the ball, post defense, double teams and more.

Make sure you read the entire blog here.

EA does some stuff and i like what i see with the defensive options

Looks good, but more like bounce tech demos. They need to show how this translates in 5 on 5 gameplay.

Not gonna lie, I LOVE the defensive options and settings. If this actually works as advertised, EA could be on to something special with this.

Sounds good, still wont judge till i see off screen gameplay. But the most of the defensive adjustment have been in 2k for couple of years. Still nice

Its starting to look like Live 14 is going to be good comeback, as long as the good out weigh the bad im in.

This has me as curious as I've been about Live. The ability to choose where to force the offense is sick as well as team specific defenses.

Apparently the pokemon ad didn't want me to read this article right away.

Love the defensive talk! Looking forward to actually seeing it work.

Force Direction - Baseline EQUALS...

The bar was set.

And now it's raised.

I thought they were posturing awhile back when they mentioned defensive schemes.

If those work the way they should work...then wow. Game-changing.

On-The-Fly individual defensive settings? That's a first.

For real, if this works as advertised, they might have just done something to convince me to at least rent this game and check it out. That is a DEEP selection of settings you get to choose from for each team and player.

This is the type of stuff defensive minded folks crave.

I am hoping the CPU will use these defensive tools.
That's one of my biggest gripes with 2k the CPU played the same no matter what team they were using.

Anyone notice how Dudley's and Redick's arms are just as ripped as Griffin's? Haha.

Looks good. I like the defensive controls more than the dribble controls.

Now we need to see some 5 on 5 gameplay.

Also, can we have a thread on here without mentioning the other game. It's start to derail the thread. Thx.

I really had a hard time reading about the defensive side of things after seeing that controls vid because all I kept thinking about is how much this game looks like Live 10 all over again - It bothers me!! I feel like EA is just repacking 10 and tryna pull the wool with this Bounce Tek jazz. Looks EXACTLY like Live 10 with how the players dribble and move. REALLY bothers me.

I do like the defensive options such as being able to force to baseline whetehr as a team or individually...but still can't get over the Live 10 similarities.
