NBA 2K14: Next-Gen Details on Gameplay, AI, New Modes and more!

Lebron James NBA 2K14 Next-Gen.

2K Sports today revealed a whole boatload of information about NBA 2K14 on next-gen consoles, which includes a four-tier approach with NBA Today, MyCAREER. MyTEAM and MyGM all receiving a huge imagining for next-generation consoles.

I assume that when they say off-line association is gone, that is has been replaced by MyGM. I doubt they are saying MyGM is an always online mode

was expecting no upgrades for association... not it being gone.... why...

ASSOCIATION.... of all modes 2k.... the one that is directly linked to the real NBA.... my...goodness.

That's a mistake, IMO. A big one. Even EA realized it and brought back multi-user to CF this year.

Looks like I will have to do my associations on the pc version. Darnit, why screw up a good thing. Still too good to pass up, but will be an exhibition only game for me I guess. Sigh

I agree. It's kinda sad that the most important people, the consumers, have to get the information from a second hand source when it is those same consumers that will determine if this game succeeds or fails.

While I certainly appreciate the efforts of OS and all those involved with giving us a steady stream of information, I can't help but feel a little bit shafted that we didn't get to see these improvements for ourselves.

Mygm is the only way to play a whole nba season in next gen.

Wow lots of great features im impressed. But then again I already love current get 2k14 so anything extra is just gravy.

I really don't think people are understanding that MyGM mode is the improved association mode, you just can't be more than one team. They didn't "remove" association, they just changed the name and disallowed multi team control.

I'm honestly not worried, with the way they're touting this mode I feel like the CPU AI will be MUCH improved in this mode.

??? Wait so is there no Multi-team option in MyGM either??? If there is no offline multiplayer season mode of sorts as incredibly badly I want this game, I wont purchase it, as thats all my friends and I really do. wtf

Can you confirm whether or not theres a multi-team option in my gm?

it's borderline unplayable with just one user... bad trades, rotations, drafts decisions...

What is so wrong about the GM mode??? It's basically Association with more detail and stuff to do.

Correct me if I am wrong, but... I just don't see it being a huge deal. As long as I can still control my team through an NBA season, etc I am good. Plus we can play as GM, coach, or our player.

By saying our player was the GM, I think they meant the way he looks. Not specifically your player as in him being retired, etc.

EDIT: To the guy above me, MyGM is specifically offline from what information is given. Online hasn't been covered yet. Also, with the new trade logic and power of the system maybe those issues will be gone making it much easier for the game to flow realistically by controlling just one team.

I only use one team in Association anyway, so I'm quite excited.

I'm glad your happy, but for me this is a dealbreaker. Multi team control is a must for me. I guess I will be running a manual season in exhibition mode, like in 2k5.

I'm aware, on current gen. We don't know how improved the CPU GM AI is on next gen. I'm assuming it will be 100X better with this new hardware.
