Another next-gen Madden NFL 25 video has arrived, showing nothing but zoomed in footage from a simulation of tonight's match-up between the Indianapolis Colts vs. San Diego Chargers.

It's starting to hit home guys. Remember how everyone says "Operation Sports are the hardcore fans which is 10% of the total user base". Well here are some of the casual fan comments that don't visit Operation Sports or other Madden sites.

That's not the one ESPN posted earlier, though.

The one posted earlier was Colts vs Chargers.

Edit- My bad, it is the right one. I clicked on it the first time and it's was the Saints one from a few weeks ago. Just clicked again, and it's Colts vs Chargers.

How could they even put that Ty Hilton play in the highlights? Colts fans correct me if I am wrong, is he not a Desean Jackson type of receiver? A smaller, speed guy? I know he looks pretty skinny when I've seen him in on TV.

So, Hilton leaps up and makes an over the shoulder catch. Before he can even land fully a safety is coming full speed and hits him. When they show Luck throwing you see Weddle sitting back in coverage WATCHING the throw get made. He has a short run and a direct path to the receiver. There is pretty much only one way this tackle should end. Weddle SHOULD be peeling parts of Hilton's jersey off his helmet. In the NFL this would probably have been a flag for a hit on a defenseless receiver.

But this is Madden.. Hilton is able to land and not only brace himself for the hit he doesnt see coming, he spins right off of it! Now this is bad enough right? Maybe this could possibly happen if Hilton just had a 6th sense and made a great play.. maybe.

BUT this is Madden.. Hilton can spin off what should be a crushing hit he doesnt see coming and then completely change his momentum and beginning spinning the other direction when hit a 2nd time. What happened to the trailing corner's momentum? He is chasing Hilton so he must be running full speed but when he hits Hilton, the animation takes over and he is falling off of him?

Amazingly bad.. I see better physics in GTA5 when I'm trying to walk down a steep hill and my character falls forward because of too much momentum. EA is laughable..

Before I even state anything, I just want to say I'm watching it on my phone and currently not on 4G so the resolution is pretty bad but WTF. The game looks like it's running the PS2 engine. I understand right now my resolution is bad but the animations shouldn't be affected by the visuals of the game. This looks like early 360 stuff animation wise. Nothing in that video was next gen at all. I'll wait to get home to re watch it or get to a spot where I have coverage but the animations look terrible

Funny you mention GTA 5, because it, like all Rockstar games since GTA 4, is running on Natural Motion's Euphoria engine. AKA, the same engine that was used in Backbreaker.

That right there is the post of the year. And maybe even the post of the last 5 years! When there was 2 NFL games. It's obvious that many liked the other game better than Madden. Now that Madden won the war (off the field), they struggle to accept Madden for what it is and that the game is not made to appease them solely. The game is made to appeal to larger a demographic
of sports gamers. And in that respect the game achieves its primary goal. yes it sucks that EA "wal-marted" your personal favorite chain but love it or hate Madden is what it is.

That's because it uses the Euphoria Engine, which is the stuff Backbreaker used, a game that also got dumped on.

Even better details, Richardson a hands down power back with a nasty stiff arm/truck is hurdling at the goalline? Little things like this always bother me on current gen because its like im playing against the same players no matter what. I would expect McCoy to do a useless hurdle like this, thats his style, he is a jump cutter. There is no reason Richardons doenst put his helmet down or an arm out and walk easily into the endzone or at least use his best traits. Of course this could just be user input but it bother me when i saw it.

I noticed when I load up GTA5 it says something about "Natural Motion" too. Guessing that must be another engine or something. Never looked into it.

Edit: Just saw post on last page that says they are the ones who created the Euphoria Engine. Makes sense lol.

Mehhh, the game is what it is at this point. Just address what is there. One thing they need to do is slow down that QB auto-drop. It's too fast and creates some unrealistic scenarios for people who like to play with scramblers.

I'm having a hard time believing that is next gen ( but I know it is confirmed as being next gen). It looks current gen to me. I know Madden 25 xbox 360/ps3 didn't have the best graphics, but this still doesn't look next gen.

I have no idea what EA is doing with this game. IMO this game is going to sell very poorly

It's a good thing I love NCAA 14 so much. But one good thing about next gen madden is that beautiful plush highly detailed grass.

Reminds me of trailers from car games... 'pretty car taking a corner' 'pretty car passing another pretty car' and nothing from the angle you play at. Of course that's not the point of this video, but as a result I can take away only so much from this.

APF2k8 was a amazing engine to build on. There are many moments where it looked real for a moment or two (Something Madden never accomplishes). Go play NBA 2k8. Imagine what APF2k would be right now if it had sold well. Next gen would have added even better gameplay and graphics. APF2k8 was a great engine, that felt rushed in graphic polish, and features. The animations would have been smoothed out through the years, just like NBA 2k8 vs NBA 2k14

yeah its getting real ugly out there, im glad ESPN got involved cause now they will see feedback on a much larger scale. One can only hope the NFL sees this as negative press and remove this exclusive license stuff so other developers can make an attempt on producing a much better brand of NFL football
