Another next-gen Madden NFL 25 video has arrived, showing nothing but zoomed in footage from a simulation of tonight's match-up between the Indianapolis Colts vs. San Diego Chargers.
I know it's not fair to for me want graphics this good in next gen Madden yet. Madden does have some technical hurdles, more players, bigger stadiums, more complicated rules etc., but I want to feel this attention to detail and the across-the-board upgrades. Everything looks so much better, his hands, the ball, the arm sleeve, his facial hair, it's amazing.

Madden in screenshots look just as detailed. If you go read the thread where this picture came from the first 4-5 pages are talking about all of the details that are incorrect or a little off. But too each his own.

Jesus Christ, imagine what NFL 2K14 would have looked like. If I was the head of EA Sports, I would clean house and and bring in the stars of the 2k football development team. Start with whoever was in charge of animation and then get the presentation guys to come with them.

No it really doesn't. The skin shaders in the 2k screen shot is a generation ahead of Madden next gen. Thankfully, we have just seen screenshots. We've seen a video of the game in motion and it outclasses madden. I really have nothing positive to say about Madden next gen. Its just disappointing.

NBA 2K has footage that hasn't been torn to shreds yet and it looks and moves just as good as these screenshots. Madden's screenshots don't look this good to me and they don't even come close to actual footage.

I can't compare 2k next Gen screenshot to nba live yet but I do know this. It's not fair to use a game like basketball to compare to a football game. It's not as many player models on the field/ court as a football game. That why attention to detail can be better than a game like Madden. Fifa is a better comparison. However I do understand where a lot of you guys are coming from in talking about the graphics of Madden 25 Next Gen. Think though, this game should get better in that department in years to come. Let's just hope so.
Compare this screen from LAST year to that video, there just isn't enough difference to justify a purchase from what we have seen so far.
Sir, I don't know who you are, or what you have done with jpdavis82, but I am personally contacting the mods to have your IP address traced and authorities sent immediately!

You're right though if Madden 25 Next Gen looked like that I would lose my mind.
Look how much better a game that came out 5 YEARS ago looks than a 2014 "next-gen" game
EA is pathetic.
I just youtubed and watched the full video of this GIF and I have the biggest headache, from seeing just how far off madden is from replicating anything we see on Sundays in the NFL. Im done with Madden until I see quality gameplay like this, not flashy names like true step to put on the back of the box, but has no real effect on the gameplay.
you cant honestly tell me, that all pro 2k8 gameplay and graphics with a franchise mode thats just equal to maddens wouldnt be able to compete with madden 25 on this gen or next. If they threw in full team customization, the community would take care of the "exclusive license."
Not sure why the poll on OS that asked about a fully customizable ncca game wasnt more positive but I know with solid gameplay like this and a dynasty or franchise mode and it would be a seller, and it would only get better. I would love to see a football gaming world with 2k still in it.
Beyond just the obvious gameplay superiority... I love the small nuances that 2k has. How players jump over players after plays.. how they look after they catch the ball and turn up field..etc. Look how the DE is rushing the QB. It looks lifelike... the momentum, the speed. everything.
Its a shame that the litle things like some of the examples you stated become so big becuase we are not seeing it in Madden at all. Theres a smoothness to the all pro game that Madden hasnt even come close to. I just wonder is it a matter of not knowing how to do what 2k did years ago or just being to stuburn to follow the competions blueprint.
I echo the dominant sentiment. I could live with a minor superficial upgrade in visual quality if the game animated and played much better. The leap I wanted to see in under the hood tech for Madden this gen just isn't apparent to me in what I've seen so far. I can't conclude anything, but I have no interest in the game appearing in these MNF clips.
Considering the fact I only play sports games, football and basketball, I must admit I'm a little disgusted by what I'm seeing. Although I enjoy Madden 25, I was expecting more. I'm sure the devs work hard at what they do, but with this being a new generation it would be nice to get a different football experience. I'll still buy it and enjoy it, I hope, but I'm expecting more, a lot more.
Let's just be honest gentlemen, they can't do it. If they could they would. There ideal of improvements are yearly graphical improvements. That's all they can do. ( LOOK AT THE GRASS). Truth be known, the E3 videos are probably where they want to have us 5 years down the road. They hire former athletes to say their gonna help with the development and we continue to get handed the same junk over and over and over. You guys know more about this than me but I don't think 2K had to hire former athletes to help them make a good game or to try to promote sales. They just loved the sport and wanted it to be "Football".
Maybe EA should spend more time trying to hire the 2K developers.
To make things even more confusing watch EA release a video in the next few days on their "True Step technology"...and that stuff will look different than all the other stuff they have shown...I think people just want to know the truth. All these videos next gen, current gen...EA has to have the worst marketing personnel who have not one clue what it takes to get a positive buzz going on about their game.
The worst?
Their marketing is fantastic. Look at their product placement. The name is everywhere.
Radio shows, TV shows, live football games....Everyone talks about the game.
No, their marketing plan has been the most successful thing about the game.
People who actually know football see past the marketing scheme but the "Madden fans" (the vast majority of their fanbase) don't care about how football plays out.
Look at the sales of this game, if it weren't for marketing, this game would have died out years ago.
