NBA Live 14 News Post

Let's face it, NBA 2K is king currently.

There are no other game series which are awaited as anxiously by OS'ers than NBA 2K, and for the last couple of years the game has gone unchallenged on the marketplace.

Of course, changes this year as NBA Live 14 is entering stage right.

With such an ingrained dominance on the marketplace right now from NBA 2K, does NBA Live even stand a chance to make a mark on gamers this year and establish a foothold to work off of?

Why does lack of videos scare everyone? News flash. We haven't seen jack **** from 2k yet.

We had the Lebron trailer from the finals that looked amazing. We got a teaser trailer today that looked just as good. Oh, and a solid base game to build off.

So far, EA has given us some CGI trailers, a bunch of screenshots and about a minute and a half of Kyrie dribbling without ever seeing the ball go through the net.

Advantage 2k thus far.

Really hoping Live can show us something amazing in the next couple of weeks.

Uhh...how so? For one thing we saw multiple teams and players. We saw an actual made field goal. More than one actually. I'm confused how you drew that conclusion.

2K only showed 4 animations today, Durant stepback, harden eurostep, and two midair dunks. Wait until we can really compare player movement and gameplay.

This was made from NBA 2k13 on PC. I'm just saying that in terms of what we can expect to see in terms of actual gameplay, neither game has shown us anything.
That video shows a strong foundation by 2k, Live has alot to prove you can make all the excuses you can, but dribbling is only one part of the game.

Live and both 2k might just be holding out showing too much before launch. Seeing what the other guy will do? Maybe?

I doubt 2K even cares about Live. They're not legit competition until proven otherwise.

It doesn't matter what any of us say really, if they make a great game people will buy it--regardless of how many trailers were made.

At this point, I'm just waiting for our annual "failure to deliver" announcement.

They'll release. I'm confident of that. Even if they have to push trash out the door, they'll release. They simply cannot afford another failure to launch.

That said, what we're witnessing right now is exactly why I don't trust the game and what's been the franchise's biggest problem for years now. The decision making over there is horrible. There is no reason for 2K's next gen spot to steal momentum away from Live 14. Not this much anyway. They should have been littering Live news, info, videos and pictures throughout this whole process while 2K was focused on current gen. Instead they sat around talking about dribbling for the last three months and showing pictures of Kyrie dribbling. This is the equivalent of a team being down three touchdowns at the start of the fourth quarter and they're not passing at all, just running the ball, getting up slowly and making no real effort to close the gap. They're behind in this race and they haven't acted like it at all. That scares me.

2k is an outdated game. I mean it's 2013 and their gameplay is still mostly scripted!

Thats my #1 issue with gameplay and clipping. Those issues should have been some what fixed in the current gen but I guess its to hard for b-ball.

It doesn't have a chance to dethrone 2K, but it does have a chance to be fun. And that's what people should look for, not for it to beat 2K.

Ea has a trailer too. Yet in addition next gen tech ignite info, synergy, court q, playable Bouncetek demo and vid showing how it works. They have backed up what they are showing yet for some reason it's not enough. There is more coming this week and the weeks to follow. How is that scary?
You have no clue what you're talking about do you? Focusing on animations? Wha? Do you even know what animations are? If history tells all then I guess we won't be seeing Live 14 at all now will we? Ooops.

I was going to respond to his post, but decided to let him to continue looking foolish. he doesn't know the difference between animations & visual/graphical upgrades. either way his points are mixed up.
