Way to drop the ball ea.

I'll definitely be trading this game in soon if another patch isn't released.

Update: removed all game data and disabled connection so i could play straight out of the box settings, no sound.

All menus have sound. Just not in-game.

**** ea.
This sounds like a you problem. If you deleted all game data and still have no sound, that has nothing to do with the patch.

Incomplete passes or deflections are not being counted as tackles, at least on 360. The choice of stay overlays and what it displays could be better, but it's not being counted as a tackle. It's showing how many tackles he has to that point.

It was late last night, but I noticed differences right away...and it's been near two weeks since I last played the game.

First, the patch was 496MB (PS3), and it took about 8 minutes overall to DL/install. I was hoping it was as big a deal as it seemed to be. For me, I was right.

The game loads every screen a ton faster.
Every touchdown now, finally triggers cut scene animations, and I saw ten different ones in my back/forth game against FSU.
Pass rush (edge rushers, especially) finally bring it, so I feel like the slider set I have means more.
WR's make their cuts a lot more effectively, and again, the slider set means more finally...I'm not just seeing separation with the better WR's...I'm seeing the standout CB's finally "standing out."
The running physics seem a little tighter to where every person that even touches me causes a reaction, as opposed to some warp/sliding off a lot before. Some might get annoyed by this, but I like every little thing to matter.
The passing game feels better, too. When FSU changed their defensive coverage, it mattered. I had to adapt a lot more.
Best of all, every screen is fast to load...no lagging...no glitches.
Stats, though, I didn't take the time to see if they were doing correctly. I just really needed to play a game of football on the field more than anything, and I'm happy to have that well enough.

I'm basically waiting for the world to end, now because this is obviously too nice.

I'm on ps3.

Will post again if issue continues.

If it does... Wow.

with all the ps3's in town, and only your copy doing this, i'd likely put the blame on my console first.

There is a definitive difference in gameplay especially on the pass from this patch. DBs actually are paying better attention (or maybe the WRs aren't just running right past them). I threw a TON more interceptions last night trying to make passes that would have been completed before the patch. This is a GOOD thing as most of them were passes where the DBs *should* be breaking up the pass.

The block shedding is definitely improved as you can now run stop / block shed considerably better.

I don't know yet about cheese plays, but the CPU is no longer calling 1000 read options a game. It appears though that the read option still has the invulnerable QB during the handoff.

I USE DEFAULT SLIDERS though so maybe the reason some of you aren't noticing a difference is because you are using custom sliders that make the changes less obvious.

Now that we "know" what was in the patch and that gameplay wasn't touched are these "improvements" people are talking about just the placebo affect?

Yes. This always happens right after release or right after an update. People see one thing they may not see very often (like a pass interference), then come here to report it must be fixed now, even though there was no mention of it in the notes. It isn't until they play ten more games or so that they realize it was just a coincidence that they were more sensitive to than usual because they are looking for fixes that they hope are there. Give it a few days and the consensus will be that the gameplay is more or less the same.

First, we don't "know" gameplay wasn't touched. EA is notorious for not saying everything they fixed, especially regarding crippling gameplay bugs. They did say "other fixes".

Secondly, while I see your point regarding a placebo effect, I threw six damned picks to effing TROY after the patch. Six. I played about three or four games last night and in total was throwing and getting more picks, seeing a lot more broken up passes, and actually getting coverage sacks.

So I'd argue that while one night is not a huge amount of data compared to the amount of games I've played thus far, I have hard evidence the game is actually better as far as DB play goes.

^^^If I remember correctly from reading the patch notes, it seemed they did make gameplay adjustments but did not care to elaborate on the changes they did make.

You must have not read the part where they said

The title update includes multiple fixes to streamline presentation and performance, as well as the following gameplay improvements and enhancements (among others):

so i think we "know" that both gameplay improvements and enhancements were included, we just don't know exactly what.

Played one game last night after downloading the patch. Halfway through the game, the framerate started chugging, just like it did before. Very unfortunate.

played a game on 9 minute quarters Heisman default settings with penalties kicked up high.

using san jose st @ minnesota.

no holding with holding set to 85. i did have a few false starts and i was offsides with a player i was controlling. the cpu had no penalties.

no fumbles. i set my tackling to aggressive force fumbles. i did miss a lot of tackles though with that setting which was encouraging.

i did see injuries. i think two. i forgot to check the injury report. one of my guys made a huge hit and just laid there. and then there was a little box that popped up explaining the Minn RB was out for a while.

the gameplay does feel good. i like the game a lot. but.... if your motto is "if its in the game", penalites and fumbles, are not in the game so far. fifa is like this and it is fun for a while but then it loses all realism after a while.

i will play a few more to see if my game was an anomaly.

You failed to post the list of "improvements and enhancements" that was provided.

If it doesn't get fixed I'm going to try to undo the updates and play the game as it came out of the box. I can deal with the gray face masks....not being able to play hurry-up offense without the sound dropping out before the play menu appears is way too annoying.
I've had audio drops since '12. I'm used it. After every first down or big play, the crowd cuts in and out.

I simply posted what EA posted.

You stated that "gameplay wasn't touched."

The patch notes claim they were. Some are listed, some fall into their "among others" claim, and it's clear people are seeing some new field activity, and a smoother running game overall.

It seems to me you refuse to accept the fact, or are so bent on thrashing the game, you aren't opening your eyes long enough to try and enjoy the game.

Have you honestly, sat down, put your preconceived notions aside, and played an entire game?

I think I found a new bug on field goals, the RG no longer blocks letting his man shoot through. Still no blocked kicks though

It is clear that SOME people are seeing improvements, while others see nothing new. I actually like the game and am not trashing it at all, I really enjoy it as it is - even understanding there are some existing problems with it.

Some of these same people admit to not having played a game in a few weeks. Heck I have seen a game where my WR's dropped 6 passes in the game and then turn right around to not have a drop for the next 5 games. What we need is a larger sample size or more details from EA. In the past they have pointed out improvements to gameplay in a straight forward manner, such as: "tweaked the interaction between WR/CB" - they did not do so this time.
