The folks at Tradition Sports Online nailed down the initial list of team ratings in NCAA Football 14. Have a look at all 126 teams and their ratings below:
Wow...umm thank god for the people that put out rosters for everyone.
I know Alabama is a good team but 99 everything c'mon.
And even my favorite team, Miami Hurricanes, that high of a defensive rating? Has anyone watched any games last year, practically every game they had to win in a shootout against ACC teams because of coaching and other things.
Indiana was Big Ten #1 in passing offense, #2 in total offense, #4 in scoring last year, has virtually everyone returning on offense and is rated 11th best offense in the conference. EA what were you thinking?
With all that IU tied for second worst overall record in the Big 10
With all that IU tied for second worst overall record in the Big 10
Yep, defense was awful. Yet, EA rated the D as 82, just 1 point lower than the offense; probably should be in the low to mid-70s. I trust CParrish and his roster crew will figure it out.
Iowa with 88 on offense and defense is laughable. I love my hawks, but they are in a rebuilding mode right now. Low 80's for both, with offense maybe high 70's would be accurate IMO.
oregon state who is going to be a top 25 pre season team most likely top 20 and cant get a 90 OVR, they will have one of the best offenses in the country, probably the most balanced and no love. Ugh. Hopefully the roster editors give them some love.
thats the thing though. they arent an FBS school yet. they will be an FCS Indpendent this coming season, and ineligible for FCS Tournament. ODU will be FBS and bowl eligible for the 2014 season.
so there is an FCS team in NCAA 14
... which only leans more towards the fact that there may not be another game in the series, as of now.
the next schools to join will be App St and Georgia Southern for scheduling purposes in 2014, but not bowl eligible until 2015 season. and Charlotte is playing 2 FCS Independent seasons in '13 and '14, then joining FBS schedules in 2015, and full FBS member in 2016.
maybe ODU was their way for making up for the Southern Alabama goof last year. add a team late, add a team early.
Except if I recall correctly, the "goof" was not on EA's part, but South Alabama's. They failed to notify EA in time that they were going to be in FBS last season (took too long to file the paperwork with EA). So EA wouldn't be making up for anything as it wasn't their fault.
Ok I guess I'm supposed to discuss player ratings here. What do you all think players like devante Parker and other Louisville players should be ranked?
I thought Ohio State, Michigan, and Michigan State looked sort of correct.
Then there's the bad: Iowa. They are 88 overall, 88 offense, and 90 defense. Iowa was horrible last year. Nebraska is 88-91-85. Northwestern is 86-86-87. Both of those two teams won 10 f------ games last year. Iowa won 4. Even Wisconsin, last year's Big Ten Champions, are 88-88-88. WTF?
Penn State is 84 overall. Illinois (2-10 last year) is 83. Indiana (a promising team) and Minnesota (better than Illinois AND Iowa) are lower than that.
2 teams got the shaft in the BIG12 lol. TCU and KSU. TCU is supposed to be winning the BIG12 and look at their ratings. KSU won the BIG12 but I don't really think theirs was to far off just about 2-3 off for each O and D. THEN THERE IS FREAKING TEXAS are you kidding me? I understand they get the best talent from Texas but look at the last few years just utterly terrible I swear. They deserve a 89 nothing above or below.
WoW alot of people complaining,It is kinda weird NCAA fans should know about recruiting.Texas,FSU,Florida will never be ranked low in ratings,Ole Miss had monster recruiting class.Alabama bring back higly rated QB and MLB along with amazing recruiting class.
I will say this Madden and Ncaa needs cut back their ratings by 10,Alabama should be all 88,If team or player is 99 they should be all time great like 95 Nebraska,2001 Miami,2000 Oklahoma,1999 Florida St,1996 Florida, etc or Hershel Walker,Tim Tebow,Archie Griffin,Earl Campbell,Barry Sanders,Charles Woodson,etc..Alabama is good and expected to win but it is not going to be shock if they lose 1 or 2 games.Just for historical context alone they should be lower,So then all time great players and teams would shine more
