Those moves don't require plants, and plenty of players will take that approach when catching a ball wide open with an easy path to the endzone. Some will try to cut it up dramatically, and at times that makes sense (when you need to get upfield quick especially when someone can make a play on you), but in that particular case there was no need to turn any sharper than he did in the video. This doesn't mean that they have that particular animation/situation down pat though, but you can't say they have that wrong based off of this video alone. Also to me it certainly looked like he was slowed down on that play, in year's past he'd turn and be almost at full speed immediately, now he's having to build speed (and never really hits that next gear because by that point he's in the endzone).

We'll get a better look at things in the demo, based on this video there are quite a few valid complaints (Commentary doesn't seem improved, still some oddities where players move through others, the D seemed non-existent), but the planting complaints don't really hold up (when they move horizontally they plant, when they angle towards the left or the right they don't plant, this is in line with real life).
Yeah I'm not sure about the planting, but the Infinity Engine 2 doesn't seem to be there at all. Hopefully they haven't toned it down that much, to where it seems like it's not even there.

The read and pitch keys Are not present on all American and Heisman difficulty. This would also explain why the blocking was so dominant as the difficulty would have to be Varsity or Freshamn.

I agree, I don't think the clip was horrible, but they could have picked one that shows off the new system instead of making it look exactly like last years game.

On the other side I never saw the HB get caught up in the Olines feet, which is an improvement they said we would have and seems to be true.

Anyone else see that LSU defender get absolutely cracked at the 23 second mark? That looked really good. Everything else was about what I expected. Shame that I haven't been blown away by gameplay in a really long time.

Yeah if you watch the RT during that whole play, that actually looks pretty good. He keeps running up field and then pancakes the LSU defender.

I understand that EA wanted to change the player likeness up a little. But if that's the real roster, it may take a while to do them. Not a single one of those players were similar to an existing player.

I'm not running out and cancelling my pre-order over a 1 minute video. I think the game looked better. I saw a little bit of improvement in the running animations. (looks like I'm the only one) I knew there wouldn't be wholesale changes this year.

The colors popped, which is an improvement over 13. Maybe I just have really low standards. Its not like I've loved EA football this gen. In fact I haven't. But I like football games, and I did see some improvement in the video.

I feel like a pariah. Almost scared to not share the opinion of the majority of OS that the game is already garbage.

Just noticed one thing that gave me hope. It's obvious that this is in Dynasty mode however A&M will be playing LSU at LSU this year not at home. Makes me think maybe this isn't in year 1 of the Dynasty which is the reason for none of A&M's starters being out on the field. Just a fingers crossed observation

I hope you can turn off the "read" arrow above DE's or OLB's. It's not a deal breaker for me but I like to pick my play and then figure out on my own who I am suppose to read. Brings me back to my playing days where I actually had to make reads. And as bad as it sounds every once in awhile I get a brain lapse and look to read wrong guy and my QB gets crushed. Just adds a realism factor for me.

So you are trying to argue that when you are changing directions even at smaller angles, you don't have to plant your feet? Your body should just start moving in that direction without planting? Im not sure what you are arguing. I understand small cuts dont need hard plants that slow you down a ton, but you still have to plant your foot in the ground to generate some force to change direction.

I don't care how small of a cut you are making, you are going to slow down and your body is going to lean some if are going from a full sprint to changing directions.

Screw this current generation of sports games...

Is it really THAT much to ask that in an atmosphere like Kyle Field in a big game again LSU, the crowd erupts when the Aggies score a TD? SERIOUSLY! How difficult is it to make it so the crowd goes wild when you score a TD in a big time environment?

Agreed. Another video from EA where it seems they did more harm than good.

Before anyone asks, the read keys aren't there for All-American or Heisman.

I wouldn't worry about the rosters taking longer to edit if the pc roster editor still works in this year's game. The whole name base could be done in a matter of hours.
