Every time you get disappointed, pop in ncaa 10 and you'll feel a little better about 14.

Wake me when next gen hits. I did like the player chatter though. I just can never stand the mashup of how the game is presented. It's like they go for broadcast/authentic/sim with certain aspects but go with some video gamey arcade stuff the next.

Listen I ain't going to use no excuse for the early build concept or anything. But the video looked better then NCAA13. While I understand people want mass improvements in a 10 month period. It just want happen. I understand the gliding of RBs still when it comes to running. But so long as they are just putting the IE2.0 on top of old coding. That will still happen until the next gen system. I wasn't expecting a hugh improvement this year. But from what I saw in this video. The oline pass blocking looks better then in the past few years. The run blocking looks better as well. Overall the game looks a lot more solid then it has last year. A lot of the same animations will remain in the current gen NCAA and Madden. I thought some people would understand that by now. I sure do. People got to understand that these games have hit their max in the current gen. With the graphics and gameplay. EA trying their best to improve stuff with they have to work with. And no I'm not trying to defend them. But I understand they have gone far as they can with this current gen football games. Next gen they should no excuse for not making the game much better with all the ram and disc space they will have to work with. But this gen is at it's limit. I understand that point. I'm looking forward to more videos next week for both NCAA14 and Madden25.
My two cents worth: The video is a promotional video and is designed to excite the group of game players that EA believes constitutes a large percentage of their target market for the game.
Attempting to judge what can and cannot be done with NCAA14 based upon this video is an exercise in futility. Nothing about the game setup is known.
I will agree that the animations do not look different than what can be seen in NCAA13, but otherwise I would not make any other value judgments based upon this video.
I expect we'll have the same problem when the Demo arrives, unless we can make adjustments to Settings to see how the game is affected.
Those of us who have delved into the Roster Ratings and Settings in NCAA13 have found that a great deal can be done to make the game play seem realistic ("realistic" being in the eye of the beholder). If we can edit NCAA14 with the Editors, then NCAA14 holds much promise. In the end, it may not offer much more than NCAA13, but I don't think we can make that call now.

There have always been things that are in Demo's that do not show up in the retail and vica-versa (depending on their Patch/Tuner).
I believe we often affix the "hope" factor towards the game meeting a certain expectation by the time it is sold or by the 1/2 patch, but the reality is that we all know that often times what we see in many of these clips is very close to what the retail version will look/play like.
Good thing for me is that the last release I actually played was NCAA 08, so some of the gameplay aspects may come with a greater tolerance because of my actual hands on experience.
If Xan's editor still works for these saves, we will be able to improve some things Gameplay wise (depending on each's perception)

i refused to buy ncaa 12, so to be fair and honest....there was nothing wrong w/ what i saw in this video, except the fact that they didnt upgrade cleats, HAVEN'T ADDED THE REVO 2-BAR FACE MASK, which pisses me off. i also would've liked to see gameplay from one of the other camera angles but oh well. blocking looked legit. i didn't see any gang tackling, but that's okay.

lol..i didn't buy 13 either...so yea...i'll be getting 14. anyone that bought NCAA 13 and is now upset is pretty dumb in my opinion. why'd u buy 2013?!? anyone?
If you want to know what's what with the new game, come here about 10 days after the release. After the rush of "they listened!" is over, as well as the wails of buyers' remorse.
The prerelease videos are of limited use and the demos either get hopes too high or too low since so much changes, I think. The Zapruder bit is fun, but we still don't know much about the quality of what's coming.
That video was kinda meh but one thing I like not mentioned here was the touchdown bit where the player name graphic popped up. The long-distance shots looked pretty cartoonish, hope that hasn't devolved yet again.
I am playing 13 more than ever, my human-CPU dynasty has evolved into some great storylines. I continue to see new things now and then, and have learned to live with everything but Rece. (Would someone please repost the Rece removal cheat.)
I'll buy it and enjoy it, but as for hopes -- on to the next gen. This one's toast.

From what I can see the only upgrade you can actually take from this game going off what we have seen up to this point is recruiting and a slight improvement to ballcarrier locomotion.
Oh and base layer undershirts and some unique team gloves.

Man, I was on the hype train too... Why does the crowd still look like a cardboard cuttout? Why are the grass textures still so blurry. All the mechanics seem off, and even though I am lax on commentary that's pretty bad.
I popped NCAA11 just for reference, and it actually looks better in my eyes. I can't afford to **** away $60 on games anymore; this just looks like the same as it ever was.

One thing I've noticed about football games is more often than not you gotta feel the difference, not see it.
I've played all of them for I don't know how many years and I can for sure see difference in that video.

This is and early build and its still descent. Plus we didnt get enough to even really starr hating the game. They gave us our fix and will have it ready for E3. They been having my money i pre-ordered mine 3 months ago and july 9th cant come fast enough. Get in were u fit in or dont get in. They will still sell this game because just with these adds to the game its already better then 13.Im playing 13 as im writing this.
looks good looking forward 2 play demo, seen e3 videos, and july 9th

Difficult to judge a 1:17 clip, especially not knowing what stage of the cycle that is and what difficulty is being played.
I will hold my judgment until we get our hands on the demo or final product!

Some of my Gameplay Improvement Notes:
Backside DB at goal line magically covering 10+ yrds to make the tackle on the RB.
I max Impact Block for all skill positions because I want them chop blocking instead of standing there glued to the defender. (wish they extended the OL/DL blocking animations to all players)
Off Change of direction
"0" out the Agility rating on Offense across the board (except for a few specifically chosen players) because it's tied too much into the gliding/sliding when Off players change directions.
- some may have to adjust upward as it impacts how sensitive Off Players are to towards contact (ie falling over/down)
- also makes it harder for HUM control player to make a sharp change direction within/out a sprint (turn auto sprint off)
Gaping holes in middle of line play
- Shed Block for all MLB's no matter school/rating etc..., must be set at "99" to force C/G block attempt animations to run shorter (ie once in the animation, 99% of the outcome is weighed to favor the OL to create/give the perception of the running lanes)
I'll just do a separate thread write-up of the many things we can do to help improve some of the Gameplay. (based off of M13 Infinity and current video)

i like the colors,
my only gripe with this vid is that it confirmed my worst fears.
AI playcalling will never be competent, even the humans at ea cant get it right. a screen at the 3 yd line, where the 3 trips wr run to the back of the endzone, hit the back turn around wide open but...its a screen
ah man...

To me there is just no energy in the game. They throw that RB screen for the TD and it was just meh. Scoring a TD in this game just seems so repetitive and non important because you can't feel the energy of the crowd. I know this isn't the biggest issue with the game, but it's one thing I notice greatly. There just aren't any fist pump type moments because of the game being so lifeless through the unexciting commentary and lack of crowd noise. I just don't get how a development team can make scoring a TD so unimportant and boring.
As I said I'm sure there are way bigger issues, but I'm just your every day NCAA football fan. I don't know much about the X's and O's so I can't really say whats wrong in that regard. I just know that I don't feel the passion and energy of scoring. NCAA football is all about the crowd, excitement, and celebrations. To me this game shows none of it. There is nothing about this game that excites me.
