AJ's Twitter comment, "don't bother" concerning the future of Franchise Mode is echoing in my mind. He specifically said that game play should be fine and headed in the right direction but Franchise mode, not so much.

Ah well, let's hope for next gen.
Have to say I agree with both you guys.

For me, this is all pointless. An owner doesn't get fired, having ultimate control is cool and I'm really happy for all the people that like this stuff, but I like being a coach and building a roster. I don't care about earning fake money, I care about winning championships.

All I hope to see from all this stuff is that there is a logical system that structures the coaching.. I want owners to fire and hire coaches reasonably or realistically. I don't want to see a Head Coach win the superbowl and then leave that team to become HC of a team that finished 6-10 for no reason.

If this owner mode creates a more realistic world within the game then I will welcome it. If it is just a bunch of gimmicks its not really anything for me, but again, I can see why people will enjoy it.

While I'm very happy that 32 team control and imported draft classes are back,I wish HC09 was used as a model for the team management aspect.I would've thought at least off/def coordinators would be in and have some importance and it would be great to have player morale as pretty much all other sports games have.

I know some people like to set hotdog prices and relocate teams but putting substance in coaching and player aspects has more value when it comes right down to it.

I won't be impressed until I actually rent this game and play it for a week or so. These additions mean nothing to me if the gameplay isn't good. 13 was played for about a month in my home before I HAD to give up on it.

Your megalomaniac control of a team has no impact on how the team plays... Your expectations affect basically nothing because there is no incentive to run a team correctly in all honesty.

I think I will have one save file of Owner Mode where I am the Bills or Jags but stick to coaching and hope that the presence of Owner Mode means that I can get a new contract offered or mounting fan pressure for my firing or the firing of other coaches.

I also hope that the interview elements that are present for the Owner Mode are also there for Players and Coaches.
The lack of morale is really disappointing. I was hoping it would be one of the feature being withheld by the NDA.

There are impacts to how you run your team though, they have said that you need to become profitable enough to be able to sign/re-sign high profile players due to their bonus. So, lets say you are playing as the Redskins. You have run your franchise into the ground and haven't turned a profit for the past three years. RG3 is a free agent and when you try to re-sign him you can't afford to offer him a huge bonus. Therefore, he becomes a free-agent and your team becomes worse.

The lack of morale does render a lot of owner pointless and make it more of a gimmick, but at least there are some consequences.

I know its not perfect but its a game thats all there are w whole lot of other things you bug for 60 dollars or more that dont give nearly the same type of entertainment lol, Anyway im happy. still way better than madden 07 lol
I mean I can understand it though, okay they brought back all the stuff we wanted from past maddens that's great but they shouldn't expect a pat on the back for it I mean they're the ones who took it out in the first place. I guess it just feels like instead of getting improvement we're just back to what we had before, but with this new crew it seems they're laying down a long term plan to get madden back on track and better than it's ever been. We'll just have to wait and see.

Thats good news and is promising but ultimately means very little in the big picture.

I think that unless I hear something about double team pass blocks or something monumental for me, I will wait until the next gen comes through...

Depending of course how much PS4 launches for, when and whether Madden is a release title or not...

I'm reading now that morale is in and was also in Madden 13? If it was then it did absolutely nothing from what I can tell.

I read that morale is in here: http://forums.traditionsportsonline....w.98592/page-2

Sorry if I missed it fellas, but has there been any concrete info on if we are able to FULLY edit players inside of this Franchise or "Tycoon" mode? I am happy to see 32 team control and the NCAA 14 draft classes back in, but being able to fully edit appearance, position, equipment and ratings is the most important to me.

For the life of me I have never understood why EA takes the time to include things like the stadium "renovations" (you can never tell that anything was PHYSICALLY done in game, like making the stadium noticeably different) or being able to build a "new" generic stadium that is severely lacking in options and execution. Like has been stated, I am happy to see staples like the 32 team control and draft classes back, but c'mon man, don't act like you are doing it "for" the community.......these features were in Madden back in the 90's. They never should have been removed to begin with, so don't insult the communities intelligence by packaging them as "new".

I have a lot of my hopes for this new Madden wrapped up solely in the gameplay of the revamped Infinity Engine. If they get this spot on this time it may make this version of Madden worth a purchase. I will still definitely take a wait and see approach though. I am a bit skeptical.......even this touted "new" Owner Mode they made a whole trailer for was done previously YEARS ago.

Shameful.

I'm not sure if I can buy this non-visable player morale.Obviously a number that affects this would be desirable such as when you bench a player or give a young player the starting job over a higher rated veteran.

# 111 thedream2k13 @ 05/20/13 09:59 PM
i hope they drop the exclusive license after this release.

# 112 GritSnSpeed @ 05/20/13 09:59 PM
There are still major gameplay issues I want to hear about being fixed. What about CPU playcalling? The fact that teams ran 80% of the time? Or the offline salary cap glitch?

WHAT ABOUT THE GLITCHES?!?!

Sent from a place that loves Momma, guns and Jesus. And not necessarily in that order.

# 113 gr18 @ 05/20/13 10:01 PM
I would think you could edit anything before you start a franchise and what they always let you edit before during one with the exception of ratings. That was likely a one time thing with '12.

# 114 MAGboyswifT27 @ 05/20/13 10:23 PM
Ok EA that's some good news!

# 115 JerzeyReign @ 05/20/13 10:27 PM
If they added player morale we'd be close to right where we left off last gen - obviously better.

I'm a little excited that I may be able to finally enjoy a game offline again.

# 116 gr18 @ 05/20/13 10:30 PM
This is one reason why I enjoyed '12 so much and the editor that was created .I never bothered with last years buggy mess and don't like the news I read by Game Changer Corey in the other thread that editing ratings was problematic still for Connected Career/Franchise.

# 117 playajay98 @ 05/20/13 11:32 PM
Sorry if this was addressed earlier but I'm really hoping the simulation results for games has been fixed. The only way to REALLY enjoy the flexibility connected franchise offers as player/coach/owner, is to have BELIEVABLE simulated results. I attempted Madden 13 offline connected careers with a Strong Safety and was terribly disappointed to see SuperSim destroy my simulated offense results every game. Sim Peyton Manning led my Broncos offense to countless 3 and out scenarios. I was always on my heels as a defensive player trying to recover from his madness. Late in a game, down by 4 means run run run punt? Please fix this for me and I'll gladly sink my teeth into Connected Franchise this time around.

Any news on being able to edit player ratings in franchise mode?

# 119 SickDL @ 05/21/13 02:35 AM
Transaction logs. Why wasnt that in last years game. Glad they put it in, or back in. I thought something like that was in m12. Is there also a log for retired players at the end of the year?
And imported draft classes back. Started playing nccaa 13 never played it before. So its gonne e interessting to see how that works.

Dont really care much for owner mode. Sounds like a really cool mode, and a lot od ppl will be happy with it. But iwould also want to be able to play the games.dont think thats posseble. Wish they would just ad this to the norman cc. Owner mode and still beong able to do everything we could in m13 progres players and play the games. Would be awesome.

Looking forward to m25. Still having a lot of fun with 13

ermahgerd!!!!! Look at all these additions that we've had before that were taken out and now are back in as new additions!!! Dreams do come true!!!

//ugh. On one hand, it makes me sick how they continually do this every 7-8 years. But on the other, I'm happy that the game looks like it's actually going to be fun this year. Last year was unbearably bad and bug-ridden. Here's to hoping that all these "new" additions actually work and aren't completely scripted, unlike last year.
