BCS Will Continue as the Postseason Format For All Years of Dynasty in NCAA Football

It's official. According to GameZone, we will not see a playoff format in NCAA Football 14. Producer, Ben Haumiller states, "The BCS will continue as the post-season format for all years of Dynasty."

	"We don�t yet have all the info about how the playoff system will work, including who will make up the selection committee and what their criteria will be for picking the playoff teams, and it�s our policy to not include anything in-game that hasn�t been approved and finalized by the NCAA," he explained. I wasn't told if a playoff system would eventually be patched into the game once all of the details are finalized; however, EA seems content with keeping the current BCS intact, at least for this year.

Honestly, we still don't know the official "realistic" way on how teams are going to be selected in the playoffs. It could be the top 4, it could not; or MAYBE its the top teams in each conference. We know the bowls that will be switching around for the semifinals, and we know the locations-- thats its.

Thinking on the level that EA develops games, it would require A LOT more work, for there just be one more BCS season, and then implement a new format- that we don't 100% know- for the rest of dynasty mode.

I'm just going to consider this a last chance to play in the BCS, before we start complaining on how the playoffs are in the next game.

Not me, I usually skip every other year, last one I bough was 2012....gonna pass on this one, I will have a hard time getting into dynasty when I know after the first year, he way the champion is determined isn't close to correct

A top 4 BCS playoff would also help fight some of the crappy polls...many times I've dropped from #1 to #3 or #4 despite winning (and having good victories)...a team that was #1 or #2 would be less likely to be dropped out of the top 4 despite continued winning and still be in the championship discussion, where if you're #1 and despite good victories could drop to 3rd or 4th and no longer be in championship contention with the current system

Ok so if they are not adding a playoff the least they can do is improve the ranking system in the game. Sometimes it was god awful and some real weird stuff would happen in the rankings.

Then when Alcorn St. or Ball St. go unbeaten and get picked as one of the 4, people will complain about that.

Implementing something new into EA games implements new problems to deal with and get mad about.

So what? People complain about the current BCS in the game. That's no excuse. Okay well it is. But like many of the excuses in this thread, it isn't very good.

Not sure, I didnt expect it, but that doesnt make me any less disappointed...I am shocked at the EA defending though...it SHOULD be in the game, they've known enough information about it for long enough now, oh well NCAA 2015, I can't wait!

I don't see why EA hasn't tried to build a couple different base models of the playoff format and then that way when everything is finalized they could just adjust the closest resembling model and patch it in their September or October patches. But they want sales so they wouldn't do that and instead will put it in next years game as the "main feature". I was somewhat excited about the game after reading about some of the improvements but if it doesn't start to vary from year to year as far as advancement in features and things like that then it's going to come to the point where it's not worth buying it every year but just every two or three years .

A playoff should have always been an option in the games. I don't care if it's not in the real game of College Football, the BCS/NCAA is a joke and they have EA on a very short leash. The quality of the EA game have been poor in the current generation except maybe for one good year. I can't believe the number of crash bugs they have in the last few games. EA is not even allowed to have a 16 team Tournament mode. EA and the NCAA give us a stupid excuse every year.

They could have included general playoff formats. Whether by the flawed top 4 BCS format, or by being able to pick the 4 teams by conference champions or even having a 16 team playoff (10 conference champs and highest ranked 6 remaining at-larges). I think the NCAA/BCS won't allow this because they know someone would come up with a better postseason idea then what real college football has right now.

Most of the criticism for the NCAA series may be warranted, but to be mad or upset because a feature that ISNT even implemented in the regular football season yet isnt included in this years iteration is borderline stupid.

No one knows how the playoff will be determined, no one knows the selection process, there are literally hundreds of unknowns when it comes to the BCS playoff system coming.

This is about the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of that fans are upset about. Trying to implement something into the game that no one has a clue about how it works isnt possible.

Even with all the conventions, tradeshows, and events that we have done....this wasnt even brought up about being in this years game and has never even had a passing thought about trying to implement it this year. Literally one question was asked at a community event and it was stated it wasnt in for this year and no one seemed to be bothered about it.

No it's not lol. The only thing we don't know is the logo and who will be on the selection committee. See links from previous pages about the other "hundreds of things" that you think are unknown.
