MLB 13 The Show News Post

Here is one of the better videos of MLB 13 The Show, coming from CES 2013. In this video, you can clearly see the new scorebug, Russell mentions you can turn off all On Screen Displays (OSD's), a very brief look at Franchise, Jeter's stance is fixed and more.

Finally changed Jeter's stance. But wtf is that Cano stance? I hope they didn't take the old one out of the game.

Bluejays fields looks much better even on that badly calibrated feed. You can tell they put some work into that field.

Did you hear him say you can shut all the OSD's off?

!!!

Can't really tell if Dickey has the angry knuckler, get them to put MPH in the scorebug Knight!

Edit:

Also, is it just me or does that Bautista crow hop look really unnatural? The arm swing and transition animation look waaay too fast... No wonder Gardner was gunned down by so much lol

A lot of guys here I bet are going to be real happy that you can finally hide all on screen displays

This is the best CES interview so far!

Has the screen always faded away like that after the catcher catches the ball? I like it

That looks absolutely fantastic. It's hard to believe it will look even better next gen.

Excited for these blogs to start!

The Gardner double was a thing of beauty... The last couple bounces after hitting the wall looked so good

Jays finally relevant enough to be featured in early game videos!

And the display that shows up when the batter is stepping up to the plate looks cool

After the other video from this morning, didnt think i would like straying away from the individual broadcast pitching cams that varies from whatever park you are playing in. But after this video, I'm really liking the new pitching cam from the left side. Cool new angle!

looks like the lighting was upgraded slightly, no?

The umpire seriously needs to stop adjusting his mask so much after every pitch!!

Hopfully Sony plans to add a lot more animations for both the umpire and catcher when between pitches and using pitcher camera view. The umpire and catcher seem do the same animation after every pitch. There needs to be more variety in there animations so it looks more life like and realistic.

Things I love about this screenshot.

1. The small series record under the starting pitcher match up for the next game.

2. The fact that you don't have to go sign somebody to see your team budget and how much of that budget you are using. Also, you will be able to see how much of your budget the entire staff is taking up.

3. The projected budget for next year.

4. The monthly budget changes. Bill DeWitt and other owners will increase the budget around the trade deadline in order to acquire a Matt Holliday type player to make that push, while small market or losing owners would want to sell players to save money for the future.

Any guesses to what the symbols mean in the franchise screenie? There's a barbell, DNA strand, bicep, bat hitting a ball, a hand with an L, and a glove...

My guesses:

Bicep - raw strength/ability
Barbell - work ethic/aptitude
DNA - bloodlines/projectability
Hand - ?
Glove - fielding ability

So far from both vids, I really like that the throws to 1st base have been right at him. In past games, I thought there were way too many throws that the 1st baseman had to really reach for. Not saying that this shouldn't happen, but it definitely needed to have more accurate throws to him. Good to see.

This was fixed a week ago the builds I brought to CES are two weeks old.
