MLB 13 The Show News Post

EXCLUSIVE! Here’s a quick look at Throwbacks Uniforms featured in this year’s game.

MLB The Show has always featured a selection of uniforms for our fans to play in, from current uniforms to alternate uniforms to throwback uniforms, and this year we added new designs into the mix. Each team will have 2 throwback uniform options, with OVER 30 new to MLB 13 The Show. Now enjoy some uniforms that date back to the early 1900’s, or uniforms that were used before a team relocated. Whatever teams you are a fan of, we have uniforms that represent your team through the years.

Atlanta Braves using their 1972 uniforms vs the Philadelphia Phillies using their 1926 unforms:

Toronto BlueJays using their 1977 uniforms vs. Boston RedSox using their 1908 uniforms:

Cincinnati using their 1934 uniforms vs. Washington Nationals using their 1969 ‘Senators’ uniforms:

Spring training is only a few weeks away and Baseball is Back! Until then, I hope you enjoyed the screenshots of Throwback Uniforms featured in MLB 13 The Show.

Kind of weird to have your trademark logo tattooed on yourself.
Like MJ having the Jumpman logo or Tiger having that TW tattooed on his arm.

An yet again, any jersey that was a pullover originally (Jays and Braves) are button-downs. Will SCEA ever get this right?

SCEA uses only one jersey template (probably to save memory), so expect good things when the PS4 rolls around

I love throwback uniforms! I am a Rays fan and i hope this means they might have the alternate uniforms they wore against the Tigers along with the much needed stirrups they always wear. Anyways i like to hear hear the new about these new uniforms being put into the game.

Yeah, definitely weird but certainly a pimp move as well. Those guys can kind of pull it off. If I did that, I don't think it'd go over well, lol.

It was not a real tattoo. Just had it on for that game. Also had special permission to wear caps backwards in the game.

Am I the only one worried about them saying they will have 2 throwbacks for each team? Does that mean that if they had more in from before they will remove others? Still haven't seen any Negro League uni's or any word on the new Pirates Sunday alternate.

The # of slots remains the same for '13 I'm sure.
We might see additional slots(or perhaps a chance to choose what goes into the slots) in '14

I believe it is a memory issue, where they can only offer two throwback uniform slots. Most likely with the ps4 we will see that expanded and hopefully see the uniform creator added in somehow. SCEA probably wants to try and have the throwbacks more in line with what people want to see for their teams.

Another screenshot of MLB 13 & throwbacks...I wish

I'm just hoping that the Giants get more than one throwback for once. New York road, 80's home, late 70's pullovers, anything!

Something that I think would be really cool on the ps4 (maybe not even till ps5) would be to have the old fashioned feel to when playing with throwbacks (or at least an option). MVP 05 did this where the screen looked like an old film while you were playing and the crowd dressed appropriately. As good as the throwbacks get, it still feels like playing in the modern day with old outfits (which is fine sometimes).

What they should do, IMO, is get rid of the BP home and road uniforms to open up two more slots. These are never used unless you are playing a designated Spring Training game in RTTS, Franchise, or Season. Then you have guys like me who never use them even during ST games because some teams in real life don't use them.

By the way, do we know if we will be able to choose our uniforms in RTTS this year. It was said to be in 12, but that didn't make it in.

My guess is that more screenshots will be released until launch. I will ask is there a list of the new throwbacks yet? If so are the road mid 80s grey Tigers uniforms available? Yes I know and yes I am seriously asking, I really am excited for this game, you will understand when you are married doing a boring job of mortgage banking for 60 hours a week like me.

We're only positive of those six on the first page. The Braves old throwbacks might be the 1933 Boston Braves uniforms based on the socks B.J. Upton is wearing. Those definitely weren't the ones worn in '72.

Awesome any information that we can get is appreciated

None yet. I would be surprised if they were in this year. The Zimmerman pic shows the same high ones while the B.J. Upton pic shows socks.

The uniforms in the pics look really nice. I hope the light blue Cardinal uniforms from the 80s make it in.

Nice little touch! As the younger part of OS, I never saw those teams play in those years, but whenever I play 2k13 and see a jersey from 2005 it makes me smile and I use it more often than not because that's what I grew up with!
Just adds more variety!

Hopefully they'll add the 1984 or 1978 uniforms for the Cubs.

I dunno I think those Mariners "turn the clock forward" unis are pretty nice. Then again I am 20 and have never seen those before so that maaay have something to do with it
