NCAA Football 13 News Post

The October NCAA Football 13 title update has arrived for the PS3, weighing in at 34 MB.

No sign of the 360 title update, as of yet. Once it is available for the 360, we'll update this post.

UPDATE: Title update available now for 360.

FYI, the Dynasty fixes should take effect in existing Dynasties. No need to start over.

Below are the list of fixes.

Gameplay
  • Fixed issue where running the no-huddle was taking too long.
  • Fixed an issue where players were sometimes not breaking the huddle.
  • Fixed it so receivers won’t slip as much on the turf when it is raining.
Dynasty
  • Fixed it where prospects were softly committing to schools even though they were not on that school’s recruiting board or showed any interest.
  • Fixed some recruiting logic where CPU teams were not offering scholarships to some prospects.
  • Fixed an issue with uploading highlights to Dynasty Wire.
  • Made the sorting on the Recruiting more user friendly so that it remembers previous sorts.
  • Fixed an issue where a prospect with low interest was getting changed to “N/A”.
  • Fixed an issue where some Online Dynasties were losing players and coaches.
  • Fixed a problem where promises were getting deleted.
Online Head-to-Head
  • Fixed a reporting issue where if someone went offsides three times it forced their opponent into a loss.
Stability
  • Increased the stability of the product by fixing various crashes.

There's a guy (Xanathol) that has developed a Madden Roster Editor that actually allows gamers to use the PC to edit EA Madden/Ncaa Roster and Dynasty files (ala 2k Editor)

I've played with it and it allows us to do "Global Editing" for specific positions, Off/Def, Skill Pos, Set Rating Thresholds for Pos etc...

Although it's for Madden, it still opens NCAA files also in editable form.
Still tinkerinng with it.

I have '12, but wondering which year had the best gameplay that just needed some Global tinkering.
Other then the lack of QB scrambling, NCAA 11 had the best over all game play. I avoid these football forums like the plague, I very rarely venture up in here anymore.

This is more huge than the announcement of any kind of patch. Save the game by doing it ourselves. Bout time.

It still won't help dynasty mode, though (except for the first few years).

I just played my first dynasty game in a few weeks, i thought game play was improved. More agressive cpu. Maybe just where i am in my dynasty though.

I felt pleased with how michigan was coming at me in my husker dynasty. Game feels more agressive like the pre release.

Im crazy though.

They're finding new things on the Madden side everyday with this editor, so could you go a little more in depth by your statement and what you've done within this editor to arrive here.
Maybe someone may have came across something when tinkering with it themselves.

when i do a Raw Data player dump of the Roster file, it notes 8,336 players.
Maybe recruits are just pulled from this pool, which we are still able to edit.

will test and see.

I agree with this...I'm in year 2 of my Texas dynasty, I played Oklahoma St (5-2 at the time) and it ended 38-31 with Texas winning by scoring a TD with 0:15 left in the 4th.

I've played a couple games since getting the patch and I've seen about 9-10 new animations that I hadn't seen before. I've played the game a lot up to this patch, so I find it hard to believe this would be a coincidence.

Please tell me how to get my hands on this man!!! I'm telling you...the bulk of the work is getting all of the roster edits done at the begining. Worrying about recruits is less than half the work!!! Somebody give me some info!!!

Get to work!! I want some results. I want to see a thread from you TarHeel and your findings. This is awesome. I can't believe this has been out and nobody has told us.
Looking fwd to this also. TarHeel is helping to carry the editing torch right now. If I see something worthwhile with this editor I might give it a go IDK. Playmakers got banned and GMS doesn't want to bother with EA and their crap these days. Can't blame him either. Last year and the year before there were so many more ppl here supporting this game. SECelite gave up months ago. Guys just like him as well. It's really eye opening to see how EA's constant failings have gotten guys to the point where they just say to hell with it all.

You're not crazy. After I got the patch the first things I noticed was a more responsive Def Rush slider and CPU QB touch passing. Block shedding is much more effective. The CPU QBs use amazing touch on passes in certain situations. It's just a shame that the QBA slider does not work for the 3rd year in a row. Controlling deep ball accuracy would go a long way in making the DB glitch less annoying.

Good observations.

So, Patriot making sure I understand this correctly...I can use the Madden editor to edit NCAA rosters? I would have to load an NCAA roster into a Madden file in order to do it? Just trying to figure out how this would work with a roster that's not a Madden roster. I've been reading a few of the pages and haven't come across anything regarding NCAA yet. But, the fact that this tool allows you to global edit man is awesome. I wish there was a way you could add attributes from Madden to NCAA such as (Play Action, Short, Medium, Long Ball Accuracy). But that's asking for way too much lol.

LOL yeah I know...it seems almost like the type of thing where you'll have to just have to jump out there on your own and do it through trial and error....no manual no nothing lol. Maybe someone who has messed around with it with the NCAA roster can chime in at some point.

Just to be clear, EA didn't "give up the license." All they did was agree that they would no longer own an exclusive license for NCAA--meaning that EA can still be licensed to make NCAA games, they just have to allow NCAA to also be allowed to negotiate and sell licenses to other developers who might be interested in making an NCAA game.

The practical effect here might just be that EA pays less for the license (since it's no longer exclusive), but no other developers are interested in making a game so EA remains our only college football option.

It would be nice if Sony and the makers of the Show made a college game. 2k tried before and it was rock bottom.

So what's the comprehensive list of what the patch really did.

I'm not complaining, but i started my Husker dynasty over and got housed last night. 31-14 to southern miss.

tighter coverage
stiffer run defense
more aggressive play by cpu

i threw like 7 picks.

this feels a lot more like the game i was expecting in july.

Everything you listed I agree 100% with. More picks are being thrown on both sides. I had to lower the INT slider. Run Def is stiffer because that slider is actually working again (last patch broke it). I was very happy when I discovered that because I can play around with the Run Block slider and get a decent pancake balance for both teams. Finally it is true the CPU is more aggressive. The CPU QB is a bit smarter now and I notice they are more accurate and are using touch passes in certain situations. Looks really pretty. I see all of this on AA with my personal slider set.

I'm hoping that the CPU offensive aggressiveness translated over to varsity level because if so I can use FistofRage's slider set which minimizes the DB glitch. I'll be a really happy camper then.

So basically yeah everything you said and to add the CPU QBs are playing lights out.

Strange. I have my sliders set up very difficult on Heisman and I thought that passing on O was easier, running the ball is easier, and my defense has been playing better. I have only thrown one INT post patch and my comp pct has gone up also.

It has played well, though post patch other than a couple of freezes.
