NCAA Football 13 News Post

The October NCAA Football 13 title update has arrived for the PS3, weighing in at 34 MB.

No sign of the 360 title update, as of yet. Once it is available for the 360, we'll update this post.

UPDATE: Title update available now for 360.

FYI, the Dynasty fixes should take effect in existing Dynasties. No need to start over.

Below are the list of fixes.

Gameplay
  • Fixed issue where running the no-huddle was taking too long.
  • Fixed an issue where players were sometimes not breaking the huddle.
  • Fixed it so receivers won’t slip as much on the turf when it is raining.
Dynasty
  • Fixed it where prospects were softly committing to schools even though they were not on that school’s recruiting board or showed any interest.
  • Fixed some recruiting logic where CPU teams were not offering scholarships to some prospects.
  • Fixed an issue with uploading highlights to Dynasty Wire.
  • Made the sorting on the Recruiting more user friendly so that it remembers previous sorts.
  • Fixed an issue where a prospect with low interest was getting changed to “N/A”.
  • Fixed an issue where some Online Dynasties were losing players and coaches.
  • Fixed a problem where promises were getting deleted.
Online Head-to-Head
  • Fixed a reporting issue where if someone went offsides three times it forced their opponent into a loss.
Stability
  • Increased the stability of the product by fixing various crashes.

Because when was the last time you saw a patch that listed issues to be corrected, then never be corrected within that patch? Instead, it fixes another issue - or breaks it.

There's no harm in asking; the fact we are on our 4th (?) patch now should breed some questions; whether they be of hope or skepticism .

In the way that Bethesda has admitted that they can't fix the DLC issue with Skyrim for the PS3, Tiburon needs to admit that they can't fix the safety play for NCAA football. What appears to be an easy fix from the outside looking in, is obviously not doable after 4 patches.

What was a good idea in theory when it when it was introduced-Gameplan- has been an albatross around this series neck for the last few years.

No huddle works much better now but fatigue is more severe. Only had 3 defensive starts play consistently in the 4th quarter going to have to adjust substitution sliders.

Yep, they should at least issue a statement. I've bought every EA sports college game back to Bill Walsh and many other EA games. Probably a few thousand $ or more on EA games in my life. Yes, I know, people are going to say EA owes you nothing. I'll counter that by saying, thats not good business. In fact, if they give us an answer either way, it would go a long way in ensuring that I buy 2014. As it stands, they are coming accross very lazy and indifferent with all the broken sliders in this game and no response to this issue. Noone in good conscience who sees the DB glitch should support EA in the future without a response.

The fix seems simple....Every other AI gameplan stays on balanced, keep this balanced or disable gameplan altogether. If its not that simple, let us know. As it stands, I beleive that if I was given an hour with the code and shown where gameplanning was in this code, I could fix the issue. Thats what is so frustrating, when you identify the issue for someone and propose a solution, they should atleast reply. How would you feel if you are at work and diagnose an issue and come up with what seems to be an easy fix to help your company and its employees and management doesn't even acknowledge anything.

I will check for this once I fire my game up again. If this is true then I don't see it as a bad thing. Maybe now we can set up our Subs to get more realistic DL and RB rotations.

I played a game with Utah vs Stanford and it really felt like the CPU was in Robo QB mode. I thought it was interesting that an earlier post read that the QBs seemed less accurate but I'm seeing the exact opposite. The CPU did not have one overthrow the whole game. The only incompletions were pass deflections or throwaways. This was on AA. In the first quarter the CPU QBA was at 0. I raised it to 50 in the second quarter, and then to 100 in the 2nd half. The CPU was incredibly accurate regardless of the QBA setting. Will test again in the morning.

I really wouldn't mind this if it happened randomly 2-3 times a game because you do see safeties bite on the underneath route on occasion in real life, especially if they are peeking hard into the backfield, but in this game the glitch is very predictable so we know when it's going to happen every time.

The fact that it's happening is not a problem for me. The timing of it and the fact that it's happening so often is what is killing the experience.

...I really think some sliders are more effective, while others have no effect as the past (QB Accuracy is the biggest no effect culprit.) For example i think the pass rush and rush defense slider has really become effective. I know i've seen bad angles a few times with the run defense slider at 0. Note that i do not have a big sample size at all. Only 2 games played, very different teams each time (WSU @ Oregon, Rutgers @ Temple).

Do we have to restart our dynasties?

I can agree with the rush and breaking tackles sliders. In my Golpher dynasty, I was shredded by Nebraska for 257 yards. I also gave up a score on kickoff when their return man broke about 7 tackles on his way to an 102 yard TD.

I was using Fists sliders as a base. My BT was 10 and my RD was 25, CPU Running was 85 and RB was 90. This was just to get some yards against me on the ground. I have to tone this down a bit but I will try another game before any changes are made.

And no restart is needed.

Has anyone heard any new about the uniform store because i would like for them to add TCU's new uniforms and helmet but i think they just did away with updating it. Just wondering

QBA slider is still broken: Coach mode slider set to 0:

QB has an accuracy rating of 80, 80awr, 90 pwr:

22 of 24 for 303 yds 91pct. 1td. 79LP.

Also had 17consecutive completed passes.

FLAT OUT BROKEN AND PATHETIC!!!!

REALLY, REALLY?!?! This is what people have issues with? Not the gameplay, freezing, dynasty issues etc?

Wow

This. Its why I don't harp on the safety glitch (I KNOW ITS THERE SO MISS ME WITH THAT) and will continue to pine for user selectable weather in dynasty a la play now games. Some people want different things for THEIR game.

Uh huh...similar to what I said in the other thread if this safety glitch affected the HUM 95% of the time rather than it affecting the CPU 95% of the time I have no doubt that EA would have fixed this, or at least spoke about it, because all of the ppl not worrying about it as it is now would be up in arms screaming and crying. I don't have a problem with guys wanting uniforms and gloves and stuff because I want all that too, but the bottom line is guys aren't worried about the safety glitch because it does not hurt their ability to score points. It only helps it.

It's ridiculous to use 95% as this glitch doesn't happen even remotely close to 95% of the time.

Jello I respect you and your posts, but read and comprehend. I'm not saying the glitch happens 95% of the time during the game. It's a ratio regarding how often it affects the cpu vs. user. Out of all the times I've seen the glitch I can count on one hand the amount of times I've seen it happen to me, but it happens to the cpu on cue many times a game.

Wow, 14 Holding penalties in one game. Played another game, 13. Lowered the holdings down to 40's, 11 holding penalties the next game.
