2K Sports will be live streaming a full game of NBA 2K13 on Wednesday, September 19th at 5:00 PM EST. Check out the Oklahoma City Thunder (controlled by Ronnie2K) against the Miami Heat (controlled by LD2K). Here is the link to the live stream.
The game is awesome, how they are presenting it is terrible. Stop showing full screens of Ronnie and LD playing, and full screens of screenshots that we've already seen. Terrible.
Pretty poorly planned "full-game stream" compared to how independent parties like Giantbomb or IGN would do it. The camera cuts away to just showing you Ronnie and LD's faces every few minutes, and after halftime they start advertising other features and showing us old screenshots to go along with the marketing commentary.
And aside from that, it's mostly pick and roll, 20 foot jumper, rinse and repeat. Even from the company itself, it's hard to get a feel for how the game ACTUALLY plays, because most of the stream has been either marketing, staring at faces or watching a game that feels like two of your friends getting their hands on a controller for the first time because they feel left out.
What's REALLY interesting, though, is that they announced the Demo will feature online play, and they weren't totally clear about it but I assume that means we'll get a full 4-quarter game against a random ranked opponent. That's pretty swag.
They've really spent a ton of rhetoric confirming their belief that MyPlayerCareer is their primary focus within the game modes. I'm a bit disappointed in that since Association really needs some freshening up. Overall the gameplay looks nice and smooth. Much improved contact on the perimeter too.
