NBA Live 13 Trailer Arrives, But the Game is Delayed Indefinitely

While the NBA Live 13 trailer shows the game in action, according to Kotaku, it might be the last we see of it, for quite some time.

	Questioned by Kotaku, an EA Sports spokesman refused to discuss release format, time frame, or the game's anticipated feature set. Asked why this series, which has been off shelves for three years, couldn't hit an Oct. 2 release date with a 70-man team in place for a year, he said: "We're not going to get into that level of detail with this announcement. In early April, you saw where we were with this project and how ambitious it was, that they had to take down the code of Elite and rebuild it. Its easy to surmise that also took time, in the development cycle, to get the whole thing up to speed. It was an ambitious project and it is a challenging game to create."

I opened this video and another tab with 2k's trailer, and had both videos playing so I could compare trailers. Smh at the difference. All I can say is wow.....well at least Madden is a buy for EA.

Hopefully they've delayed the game to go back and build off of live 10's gameplay. I hope that this is the reason for the delay but it may be more bugs and the gameplay being broken. I honestly believe they've missed their window to return, which was last year. Here's why, 2k12 is not liked by the majority and if Live 12 was released many people would have flocked to EA's game, just because they hate 2k12. Now it's looking like there will be no live for a third year. The series may be over, they delayed elite then canceled it, live 13 could be going down that same path. I hope I'm wrong.

Hard to tell what Pierce & JR Smith look like since they're both doing some type of facial expression.

Animation wise, they are stiff and have no joint movements, that is what is missing...there are no joints and they have no waistlines.

And out of all the comments on this thread. No one mentioned how big Paul Pierce head was compared to his body.

Bobble to bobble to bobble head (singing that dang song now)

Faces overall looked great!

- Jerseys, Movements, skintextures and sweat looked hideous..and crowds looked crappy and polygon compared to Live 10.

Man I don't really have much to say other than the handling of EA's basketball since live 10 has been a series of head scratching debacles. I mean after that leak THIS is the great footage you have for the public? Just looks like they're trying to do damage control, but its way later than should have been.

Nothing really excites me about the trailer.

In all honesty, I read the first part of this thread title, "NBA Live 13 Trailer Arrives" and my first thought was, "Oh word, nice, finally. Now we're getting somewhere." Of course, I continued on to the rest of the title "But the Game is Delayed Indefinitely" and I honestly just smiled and shook my head to myself, which is something I don't normally do. At this point, it's like, "C'mon guys, you cannot be real right now."

With that said, I was still kind of excited to see the trailer and after the first ten seconds or so, I was actually legitimately worried EA wasn't going to show any footage closer than the aerial shots in the opening. I thought the faces really did look pretty good though. And as others said, it's nice to see correct accessory colors. Everything else is looking a little subpar though. The animations and matter with which they connect to one another seems stiff and robotic. And the entire time I watched these short bursts of close-ups, I couldn't help thinking about how bad the game looked in the alpha video (or whatever we're calling it now).

I was smiling before I even clicked the video lol. The game looks terrible. NBA Live has A LOT of work to do to catch up with 2K. I hope they hurry up and step it up to at least give 2K some type of competition. I don't care what anyone says though, the facial models look really really good.
