How are the foul calls overall? I know playtime is limited, but are they calling fouls that are obvious?

Good to read through that jostling fouls are being called, its all part of it.

Last game I played I tried to get a card and could not. Tried slide tackles from behind even brought a guy down. No calls no stoppage in play nothing. Really love the new gameplay and hope that maybe fouls were not tuned for the demo.

Initial 360 demo impressions. I'll start with the positives, because they're aren't many.

1. Game is gorgeous.
2. Nice variety of modes.
3. Pre-game presentation is fantastic.

Now the negatives:

1. Weird ball physics. Ball bounces too much. Pass speeds are almost all the same.
2. Animations aren't nearly as varied or organic as PES 2013. Everything feels too fast, too herky-jerky, even on normal game speed.
3. No fouls. Few offsides.
4. No variety in team strategies. I played as Man City against Juventus in a game, figuring that would be an interesting contrast of styles. Nope. Both teams raced up and down the pitch, with hardly any midfield play. This should not be NHL 13 on grass. There is absolutely no buildup through the midfield, of which PES 2013 has plenty.

No question which footy game I'm buying this year, primarily as a single-player soccer gamer: PES 2013. If the demos are any indication, PES 2013 resembles the game I see on TV much more than FIFA 13. It's not even close.

Thanks, not good to hear.

For PC users, someone already has a time extender out. I saw it on Moddingway, so that is nice.

I wouldn't bee too concerned. I only played one match with the demo on my lunch hour and I got carded on a slide tackle attempt during the match.

We're hearing two significantly different reviews on the game here but nobody is really posting if they are on PC or XBOX. It's possible that the different experiences (fouls, buildup, first touch, etc) are because of the different consoles.

Demo is up on PS3, at least in Canada (and I would assume the rest of North America).

People that are getting different results should probably start comparing sliders if you've changed anything. Should help everyone.

Also can we get any confirmation on a PS3 US release?

Yep, downloading it now off the Playstation store

Anyone know a good FIFA mod editing community?

It's not just about cards either, its also about fouls being called in general. Not all fouls should result in cards. If they are calling jostling fouls, that is a good start and an example of a foul that should be called, without resulting in a card.

We are will have different takes on the topic. We have been begging for a fouls slider for how long, and still nothing. I like to play long matches, and that part of the game not being up to par is frustrating.

Moddingway or Soccer Gaming should have the most mods.

Been on default just changed my controller settings to manual down the board.
World class settings. Played about 5 matches before leaving the house.

Game feels very similar to 12. I haven't noticed a huge difference aside from first touch control and the ball physics.

I'm playing on the Xbox.

I will agree that you can't see a difference in styles, but I have to disagree with other points. I have seen plenty of fouls, I have also seen some offsides. Lastly, I was happy with the game speed when I put it on "slow".

I still like PES better but I will probably buy both.

I am a manual player but always felt at a disadvantage in 12 against the CPU because the CPU passed so accurately. What does the CPU pass % look like in 13 so far?

I am looking forward to playing the demo myself. Reactions are so mixed here it is hard to say. Does the CPU pass back? Is there midfield play? Is there defense on the flanks and in the box? Are there fouls and cards handed out.

All this was so frustrating last year. Especially the no calls. As if the CPU didn't already have a pass accuracy advantage they could mug you and not get a foul.

I know at least on professional the cpu makes errant passes sometimes.

I need to try the slow speed. The game resembles a drag race with a ball on normal speed. Nothing like real football.

Slow speed is better but not by much tweaking sprint speed for sliders helps too but I don't know how I feel about it yet, I like some player movement off the ball like i saw Gibbs rush into the box looking to score but other than that I won't say to much as I didn't play it too much yet and I am still too use to PES since I have been playing that demo like crazy.
