Ok so he says the ankle breakers will make someone fall. Not too sure how I feel about that. Really arcadish to me. I could do without anyone have that skill to be honest.

well i just look at there number of yrs in league, in the next couple of yrs we will see where they rank, but rose will dominate the pg position as he is doing now, especially since he has developed a jumpshot and 3pt

I read, up to five. I can see someone like Jordan having more. We'll see tomorrow when the have a full write-up. I hope they have something for players who get to the free-throw line alot. Players like Corey Maggette, Rodney Stuckey, Ginobli, MJ etc...

I don't think it is a guaranteed fall from each iso...

# 125 Colts18 @ 09/01/12 11:17 PM
I am not expecting it to be every iso. But for there to be a signature skill for it is really immature. Not something I expect from a simulation game. It happens but it is a freak thing that rarely happens. Anyone can make someone else fall but it rarely happens. Hell, I have seen Luke Ridnour make Gilbert Arenas fall years ago, should he have it.

I don't like it at all. Just put it in the game if the little kids want to see it but make it super rare. Don't give player's labels. But of course Diop or Chris Kaman shouldn't make someone fall but I don't like this as a skill

Like this??

Jordan has 5.

Ronnie 2k said it only goes up to 5 and not every player will have the max. In fact, he said many superstars will have less than other players. The point of the sig skills isn't to necessarily make a player more dominant, although it does seem that some skills will definitely help that, but to make them play closer to the style they play in real life. Some role players will find themselves with multiple sigs, because they do a lot of little things.

Ok listen to what I have to say Shump.

It is a cheesy skill. There should not be an Ankle Breaking skill for a simulation basketball game.

We have a dribbling rating. We have sub-ratings via Abilities that were introduced in 2K12.

There is no reason to have this in the game for 2K13. It is cheesy and immature.

People can fall randomly and rarely by using the Abilities/Dribbling Ratings. Why not just use that, why make the game more arcade by adding that skill?

It is childish. I really don't see how that can be argued.

They haven't been released yet, but my guesses are:

Closer
Finisher
Microwave
Shot Creator
Deadeye

Poor Ronnie, I didn't know that he suffered from Retrograde amnesia. That is quite unfortunate.

So why not just give Rose a high ballhandling rating and let the game decide whether or not the defender has the ability, position and momentum to stay with him when he unleashes a crossover?

# 132 Scramz718 @ 09/01/12 11:36 PM
I think actually making the defender fall would be rare, but your iso move would be more affective. Ronnie does a poor job of explaining these sig skill or he just trying to dumb it down. Good thing 2k will be releasing on sig skills insight tomorrow. (I hope Ronnie didn't write it)

Thanks Fitz,

I really don't understand why this has to be explained any further. I am really disappointed in 2K to go down this gimmick route. Once they release the official list we have to decide what needs not to be applied. Ankle Breakers shouldn't be added in any custom roster set.

I agree with these also. but couldnt melo be considered having a hustler signature? Ronnie said for blake that a hustler often scores off of his own offensive rebound. and when melo plays bully ball. he does that almost all of the time

Because it is all assumptions.

Seems like people are getting worked up for the sake of getting worked up...

In the years we've played 2k, weve never seen a situation where defenders fall at a high rate- I dont see that happening In 2k13- can we at least let it be explained first? I don't get it, lol

# 136 Colts18 @ 09/01/12 11:45 PM
You aren't listening to a word I am saying 24.

I never once said I expect it to happen at a high rate. I am simply saying that it shouldn't even be a sig skill.

Why? Because we already have dribble ratings and sub-divisions called abilities.

Why not just allow the people with high marks in both of those categories get the "ankle breaking skill" instead of giving it an official label?

They can achieve the same thing through that route.

Make it very rare and exclusive to those I mentioned above. But when you put a label on it you official make it a gimmick.

Why do that?

Yes this ffs people why not wait till all info is released and see how it plays out. I mean the community guys didn't even complain about the signature skills. I don't even think they noticed any difference....

Wait,

So if you don't think its going to be overpowered, what exactly is the complaint? You don't like the fact it's called "ankle breaking"?

I'm lost.

If anything, they pointed out how different players felt:...

But it's that time of year- spazzing first ask questions last

# 140 Colts18 @ 09/01/12 11:52 PM
My issue is it being introduced as one of the signature skills.
My issue is it being the most gimmick based of the signature skills.
My issue is it doesn't belong in the game and is not needed at all.

We already had the resources to make it happen but they just felt the need to throw that 3rd grade gimmick into the game. For what? To make a few thousands kids happy?

I know they want to sell records but damn 2K. This skill isn't needed.
