Those are the ones that were in the video and taken out. I guess that's why they had to replace the footage cause they had unis in there that they shouldn't have revealed yet.

People complain that 2k does have the right accessories etc. Let's see if the same people give them credit for having jerseys in that haven't even been announced yet.

Hahaha, unbelievable... Come on...

2K always gets the latests designs from the NBA teams so they can put these into the game. This happens every year for the new season, they need to have the right jerseys. It's part of the deal they made with the NBA, else it wouldn't make sense. There is really, nothing, special about this. Give me a break.

I feel like that might be a little bit of a different situation. NBA 2K has historically been pretty solid at including the newest jerseys every year, as well as including most "official" retro releases by the NBA and they've been commended for that. There's times where they miss details on the jerseys and there's times where certain alternates have gone missing (strangely) but more times than not, that part of their game has been pretty solid.

On the flip side, the accessories have always seemed to be pretty far off the mark. Again though, they've made strides in years past, now including nearly all the types of accessories players actually wear (ex: the gridded calf sleeves were introduced in 2K12 and calf sleeves in general I believe stopped making player's socks disappear). Also, now that I think, there were also a few years where knee high socks went entirely over a players knees and other years where knee high socks would only come in black, no matter what.

Long story short, the accessories have experienced enough problems in the past, in my opinion, to warrant folks having an issue with them. I know nothing of the in's and out's of game production so I'm assuming something on the accessory front is complicating matters and preventing 2K from cleaning things up. But again, as someone who knows nothing, I'm always amazed with the ease with which OS users are able to hex the game and provide us with accurate home/away/alternate accessory colors. And truly, I do believe it makes a very significant difference, just about as significant as shoe color (wouldn't be at least a little weird if your favorite team always wore white shoes in real life but rocked nothing but black shoes in NBA 2K?)

As much as I would like for 2K to give everyone the correct accessories, it doesn't really bother me if they don't. If they get the guys that consistently wear the same stuff everynight right, then I'm fine with it.

We need one guy to represent the accessory/atmosphere part of the game in the 2k Community Team Up....

Word. I don't have much of an issue with 2K providing the wrong accessories, mostly because 2K's always done a great job of allowing us to personally edit what a player wears. My small problem, as always, has been the inability to correctly provide accurate color schemes for those accessories.

For instance, in 2K12 (and just about every other 2K), there's been four color options for accessories: White, Black, Team 1 and Team 2. Selecting "White" will make the player wear white accessories at home and on the road, something nearly no team does. The same occurs when selecting "Black". "Team 1" will often mean players will wear their primary team color for home accessories and secondary color for away accessories. "Team 2" will just reverse the options (secondary home, primary away).

The issue is, those color scheme options are unfitting for a vast majority of the NBA. Example: the Los Angeles Clippers spent a significant portion of the 2012 NBA season wearing white accessories at home and black accessories on the road. This combination was not possible in 2K12 without manually altering every single player's accessories prior to each game. Their "Team" accessory color schemes involved the color red in each case, something they did not wear as an accessory color this year.

And I know, it all sounds like such a small deal. But I must admit, when hex editors came through and correctly edited every team's accessory colors, the realistic appearance of each team took a steeper jump upward than I ever would have expected it to. For players who utilize accessories, like Blake Griffin, the correct colors suddenly made his 2K12 version appear to be a splitting image of his real life self.

We talk about the importance of the little things year in and year out. I think this is a pretty big little thing, in terms of the realism gap it could help bridge. When it's inevitably fixed, folks will look back at previous 2K's and laugh at how generic the old setup was to begin, with mismatched incorrect colors all over the place and whatnot.

Now the color schemes are a different story, since the color of the teams accessories are usually consistent that should be right.

The one thing I do like from this video/insight is that 2k has finally begun to say things like "one of the things people DIDN'T like in 2k12 was...", whereas in the past they would keep saying garbage like (I'm paraphrasing) "all of the feedback we got from last years game was positive, and people just wanted more of everything". They are finally starting to realize that their game is far from perfect, and hopefully they will actually start putting more effort into the hardcore gameplay/modes as opposed to the more gimmicky stuff like all star game, legend modes (which can be fun, but unless the gameplay issues are fixed, they will have the exact same problems), etc..

I hope your joking, don't confuse this with that other game. NBA2K has always been the most realistic sports game. So you think dunking 100 miles per hour like the other game offered is realistic..??

On another note i think they should cut from the developers quicker and into more gameplay clips while we hear the dev talk in the background.

This: less gimmicky stuff and more improved gameplay and gamemodes

its amazing the little things people complain about year after year. I understand that people want every detail to be perfect but if every facial, accessory, color, graphical issues was addressed each year then we would either get a game with no gameplay improvements or the game would not be released on time. I remember a complaint for a couple of years was about the rubber bands around the players wrists. And I would see these complaints and just think "Is the absence of chris paul's wristband going to ruin the gaming experience for these people?" I understand that it adds to the realism of the presentation and look of the game but the way some people complain make it seem like these things should be the number 1 priority.

Yeah, I think it's a thin line. Often, I feel some folks just aren't entirely sure how to offer constructive criticism and even when people do know how to constructively criticize, sometimes it's still tough to make suggestions without drawing the ire of fellow posters who do not share the same wishes.

I mean, I really do wish 2K could straighten out the accessory colors, for it doesn't seem as if it'd be the most complicated procedure in the world. However, I feel (as I bet others do as well) that if I were not to speak up about tiny details such as these, that they'd forever be overlooked or deemed unnecessary. Every game is made up of very small improvements that add up over time. For instance, at some point, someone had to say, "You know what, I like the NBA Live '97 polygonal jerseys, but what if we tried to make them look less like a square block of cloth?" Then inevitably someone chimed in with, "Dude, they gave us real jerseys with real logos and you're worried about their shape? C'mon." But of course, it all counts in the long run. Art departments can make their adjustments while gameplay folks make their moves concurrently.

And again, for the record, I agree people shouldn't lose their minds over small details, but I think those detail suggestions are always worthy of re-affirming.

until there is some form of an editor in their games these complaints will always be here. all they have they do is put that in and those are half the complaints gone every year

# 217 thilanwij @ 08/25/12 07:47 PM
Yeah, I don't get why people are always complaining about the accessories, gameplay improvements are much more important than those. I can live with slightly wrong accessories, esp if you can change them. Gameplay is the biggest complaint I had from last year's game because there was so much BS happening like the tipped passes due to the "psychic" defense and the balls hitting the feet of the players. That was super annoying. I am glad they're fixing all that and that speed factor they mentioned in the video is finally going to be gone (hopefully like they said).
