Literally just watched this video before coming here. I like how they give the picks personality. It finally feels like a real draft, not just about the stats. Some oddities though are WR going 1st overall, TE going second. Plus Mark Schlereth's tweet saying "Pretty obvious Z. Richmond will be going first overall." yet he gets drafted 20th Overall to Minnesota. Nonetheless, I like what I see.

the draft looks really good and the commentary is cool too bringing up players college stats and even specific games.. i dont know how i feel about dallas using the 1st overall pick on a wr and a te goin 2nd tho

Great video. I can't wait for 13 to drop and this video got me even more excited.

YEEEEEESSSS!!!

They listen.

The Draft is now a real draft. I love it. Been asking for this type of immersion for years. This looks awesome.

the virtual nfl sure does prioritize the tight end position much differently than the real nfl

I don't get this....why does it have to be "it does not make sense".

What if this TE becomes the next Antonio Gates or Rob Gronkowski

What if this WR becomes the next Jerry Rice, Calvin Johnson.

Jeez.

The NFL has had a major shift to the passing game and having elite players at WR and TE is more important than ever in this now vertical pass happy league.

Love the idea. Will make connected career very interesting

I've seen TEs selected pretty high and same goes for WRs. The other poster is right, the nfl is changing and athletic TEs are very valuable. Just look at jimmy graham and gronk. Winslow was selected top ten....it can happen.

I don't mind the WR/TE picks since it's a simulated video game!

What do you guys want? A "real" draft? How boring would it get always seeing a QB, LT(OT), RB, WR, maybe DE go #1 and #2 year after year.

# 10 number1thumbs @ 08/18/12 10:34 PM
but even tweets are about TE's with one saying "the Titans are are TE away from the playoffs" or something...just funny is all

i dont have a problem with a wr going #1.. we dont know anything about the draft so like you said he could be a calvin johsnon type player.. i think its more of the logic of the team who drafted him.. the cowboys have 2 good young wrs.

a te #2 tho.. i think only a few have been taken in the top 10 and a wr and te going 1 and 2 is really really unlikely

There's a first for everything. Right?

My thoughts exactly. Dal taking a WR #1 just doesn't make sense. I also saw Buf draft another RB? They have way more holes to fill than that.

Because outside of Dez, Witten & Austin, they have nobody.

# 15 bucknut88 @ 08/18/12 10:41 PM
Too many people making judgements without knowing anything lol. How do you know that these players weren't scouted a lot and after scouting, they look like Calvin Johnson (for wr) and Adrian Peterson (for the RB). Even if you have bigger holes to fill, some teams won't pass up on those can't miss guys. I wouldn't.

How do you know that WR was scouted and looked like the next Calvin Johnson? (as I already said). You don't. But if he looks like the next Calvin and he's the best available maybe you still take him. Maybe you don't. I can see either way. Some teams draft for need and some go for best available on board. And sometimes, there are guys you just can't pass on.

And you could be right. You could be wrong. We don't know the details because we don't have the game in our hands.

I imagine a large part of the reason why WR/TE do not typically get drafted that high in the NFL is due to the previous uncapped rookie salaries. Now that there is a slotted rookie salary, I'm guessing this will occur a bit more often. Nonetheless, it is uncommon to say the least when you see it occur.

That's amazing. It flowed really smoothly, I loved the twitter posts from football insiders as well.

Minus Mark Schlereth's incorrect tweet about Z. Richmond. Other than that, they do add a nice element.
